Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO

Chapter 2387; Battle on All Fronts!

Emmanuel quickly struck several pressure points on the Warlord’s body.

A surge of warmth coursed through the Warlord’s veins, he could feel it distinctly.

With his experience and knowledge, he naturally knew what this meant, Emmanuel cultivation had already surpassed the sage level threshold. The fact that he could inject internal strength into another person was an incredibly rare and mystical ability.

In other words, not only could his internal strength take tangible form, it was universally compatible with others.

Across the history of the world, among countless forms of energy, there was only one such omnipotent force, the Sun.

“I never thought… you’d actually help me…” The Warlord laughed weakly. “I killed the general, have you forgotten?”

“Cut the crap, I just want to hear your last words,” Emmanuel replied coldly.

The Warlord understood. No matter Emmanuel’s reasons, the fact remained, he had saved his life. And so, he spoke without holding back. “Do you know why a god descended upon the mortals? It’s because even among the Three Gods, there’s a hierarchy. The highest god rules over another dimension entirely, he would never descend. The one trying to conquer this word is the lowest ranking of the Three Gods.”

“How do you know all this?” Emmanuel asked, not out of disbelief, but out of desire to understand more.

“Because we’ve been working with the Holy Fire organization for decades. I know exactly where they came from, and how the Saintess came to be,” the Warlord said with a bitter smile. “The highest god is Chanaea’s Genesis God, Emperor Valois. His bloodline is the only one that can fully fuse with solar power, making it an infinite source of energy. No matter how strong the other gods are, they can’t reach that level. And if they want to, they must use the bloodline of the Valois clan.”

Emmanuel stayed silent.

If the Holy Fire organization hadn’t gone to such insane lengths to take his wife, he never would’ve believed such a fantastical tale.

“The Great Saint King has long sought to use the Saintess’ bloodline to fulfill his ambition of becoming a god. Unfortunately, although his wife was also the Valois Bloodline, she lacked the experience during the early experiments.

“The curse worm implanting failed. So even through the Saintess of that time, now the Great Saintess, absorbed massive amount of Sun Stone energy, it could never be transferred to the Great Saint King because of the curse. She had terrifying power, yes, but she herself lacked any combat talent.

“To become a god, the Great Saint King had to develop a new vessel. So, he created the Twinblood Worm, a medium capable of transferring the power to himself!”

The Warlord revealed everything without holding back, and Emmanuel chose to believe him because everything he said aligned perfectly with the Holy Fire organization’s history and actions up to now.

Emmanuel even asked, “So the reason they brought Mackenzie here was to make her absorb all the Sun Stone energy on the island and then pass it on to the Great Saint King?”

“Exactly, You’re sharp, young Lowe.” The Warlord smiled. “Though it’s still unknown weather the Great Saint King can even handle the energy. After all, he’s not of the Valois Bloodline. I, on the other hand, have spent years researching biomedical engineering, my body might actually be more compatible with godhood than his. But in the end, I failed here. Ironic, isn’t it?”

Emmanuel didn’t care for the details. Whatever the Holy Fire organization had planned for his wife, he would never allow anyone to lay a finger on her. Even if he couldn’t stop them before she absorbed the Sun Stone’s energy, he would absolutely stop them before the Great Saint King could use the Twinblood Worm to extract it from her.

Right now, Solaris Island has devolved into a three-way battle. Every faction had two enemies, and the situation was fluid.

Just then, the rhythmic thump of rotor blades echoed from above.

A helicopter was flying over their heads, headed right for the center of Solaris Island. But Emmanuel couldn’t fly. There was no way he could leap the high wall and cross the ocean separating the island’s core by air.

He had to wait for the four fortress walls to be destroyed, deactivating the formation, and then locate a land route into Solaris Island.

Just as he thought the helicopter would enter the island unimpeded, a missile suddenly streaked though the sky.

Boom!

Direct hit.

The helicopter exploded in midair.

Emmanuel’s eyes went wide in shock, and so did Warlord’s.

After a long pause, the Warlord suddenly cursed out loud. “That b*stard Sage Saint… he really used us to go after you! He never intended to let the Saintess enter Solaris Island!”

“What did you say?” Emmanuel’s voice trembled with tension.

The Warlord didn’t hold back. “If I’m right, the Saintess was on that helicopter just now!”

Emmanuel could no longer restrain himself. He immediately rushed toward where the chopper had gone down, desperate to find his wife.

However, the Eightfold War Grid was still shifting in real time, whatever coordinates the helicopter had crashed at were surely altered by now.

“If you want to find the Saintess, then hurry up and destroy the four fortress walls!”

The warlord had clearly switched sides.

He had lost to Emmanuel, and he now fully understood that Eagle Nation had been using them the entire time. All he wanted now was to help Emmanuel take them down.

After everything that had just happened, the Warlord couldn’t help but think that maybe Emmanuel truly was the chosen one in this world.

“Got it!”

Emmanuel didn’t waste a second. He leaped down and unleashed his full power with the Reverse Dragon Palm, smashing one of the thick fortress walls apart, But the Eightfold War Grid didn’t stop spinning.

Though he was burning with urgency, he had no choice but to rely on the other three squads now.

What he didn’t know was that the front of the first wall had already become a river of blood. Two thousand Wolf Warriors troops had clashed with thousand of enemy soldiers, and both sides were nearly wiped out.

Santiago had been locked in battle with the Great Saint King the entire time. One of his arms had already been broken. Liora looked increasingly hopeless. The opponent she faced, the Great Saintess, was far beyond their level.

At this rate, they would certainly lose. Total annihilation was only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, in front of the third wall, the battle was equally savage.

Xarri and Gwain were locked in combat. Though Xarri had remained unharmed, he had been forced into a purely defensive stance with no chance of counterattacking.

As for Quell, the one she was up against, Yosef, was clearly out of her league. Where it not for Yosef showing a shred of chivalry toward women, she would have already been dead.

“Heh… what’s wrong Xarri?”

Gwain took advantage of Xarri’s distraction and nearly landed a fatal strike.

Xarri barely dodged in time, suffering only a surface wound.

But even that counted as a huge win for Gwain. He grew smug, practically gloating. “Hah! Hadn’t you crushed me the last time? You beat me back then, what happened now? where’s all that strength gone?”

Xarri didn’t bother with the response. He only wanted to reach Quell and save her. But Gwain stood squarely in his way, leaving him with no room to maneuver.

Just then, the flaming wreckage of a helicopter suddenly crashed nearby.

For ordinary people, a crash like that would’ve meant certain death. But everyone abroad had been top-tier combatants.

Quintus landed roughly, sprawling onto ground. Dragonicus, however, still managed a dignified landing. And atop that high wall, a black-clad women stood tall, one arm gripping a woman in white. Her gaze swept over the battlefield with cold disdain.

“Quintus Lenior?!” Xarri felt a flicker of hope.

Yosef, who had been moments away from killing Quell, also paused at the sudden appearance, turning his attention toward the group that had just descended from the skies.

There was something in that proud, unreadable gaze of the Blackshoot woman that made everyone believe a new chapter was about to begin.
