Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO

Chapter 2384; Clash of Titans

How did they even show up without us noticing?”

“Think they’re reinforcements from Holy Fire forces?”

The soldiers from the Northern Region were whispering among themselves. Even Liora looked puzzled. She should have felt their presence with her heightened senses before they appeared. The fact that she hadn’t meant one thing, these two were on a completely different level.

Pol stepped forward with quiet confidence, hands tucked into his sleeves. The fatigue in his eyes didn’t dull the edge of his gaze. He looked at Santiago and spoke, “I know who are you. Funny thing, though, you said my name but left out my wife’s. That’s a bit rude, don’t you think? Especially since she’s the stronger one between us.”

Liora blinked, caught off guard. Santiago lowered his spear slightly, curiosity piqued. “Oh? So, who is this mysterious wife of yours? Another Saint level legend?”

Everyone leaned in, curiosity building Liora and 1,800 warriors behind her. According to the Chanaea Martial Arta Association, Pol was among the Upper Three Saints. If his wife surpassed him, they faced someone beyond the known ranking.

Pol gave a small proud smile. “Her name is Adelina Valois. Two generations ago, she served as a Saintess of the Holy Fire organization. Now, she leads Mysticwood.”

The name struck a chord with both Santiago and Liora. Even Isabella had once mentioned that three saints has tried to bring the former Saintess back by force and failed completely. They weren’t weak, either. She hadn’t just held her ground. She made it look effortless.

Now, with Adelina being two generations removed from the current Saintess, her strength felt even more unpredictable, like something far beyond what they could measure.

Santiago gave a slow nod and raised his weapon. “Alright then. Enough introductions.”

His stance shifted. The Silver Dragon Spear came up into position.

Without hesitation, he launched into one of his signature moves, Dance of Six Spears.

In an instant, six energy dragons shot forward, rapidly tearing through the air.

Santiago wasn’t about to hold back, not when facing someone ranked among the Upper Three Saints. Anything less would’ve been an insult.

Even so, Pol didn’t so much as blink. He stood his ground, completely unfazed by a move that could’ve flattened the entire Five Poison Sect.

He lifted one hand and caught the entire attack mid-air.

A black pulse of energy surged from his palm. The six dragons exploded into sparks as if they’d never existed.

Gasps rippled across the battlefield.

Liora was the first to recover. “Santiago, focus on him. I’ll cover the rest.”

She grasped the gravity of the situation. Speaking decisively, she declared. “They’re the vanguard. The Holy Fire organization’s army is approaching. If we don’t take them down right now, we’ll be wiped out before the real fight even begins.”

“Got it!” Santiago didn’t argue. He leaped onto a nearby wall and launched a second attack, Dance of Five Spears.

Pol shattered it just like the first.

Adelina still hadn’t moved.

Liora narrowed her eyes. “Eyes on her, light ‘em up!”

Santiago jumped right in, sweeping his spear wide to push them into motion. Just as planned. Adelina and Pol launched themselves into the air.

The second their feet hit the ground the heavy guns kicked in.

A wall of bullets tore through the air, ripping toward the two like a storm. It should’ve been over in seconds.

Only it wasn’t.

What happened next left the entire squad frozen.

Pol didn’t even flinch, hands still tucked in his sleeves like he was out for a stroll. Adelina lifted her head, calm as ever.

Then the bullets caught fire midair.

They burned up and crumbled to ash one by one, falling harmlessly at their feet.

Santiago blinked. “The hell was that? Some kind of psychic trick?”

His tone dropped. This wasn’t something he or Liora had ever seen, not at their level. Both were seasoned Sage level fighters. This was different.

He thought, No… I’ve only seen something like that one. Just once. A quintuple-S freak. A Downbringer. The guy didn’t’ need to move to kill, just standing there lit the whole field on fire.

There’s no way… She can’t be that strong, Right?

The answer came seconds later.

Adelina’s eyes swept across the field. Every soldier in her line of sight caught fire. Screams echoed across the battlefield.

High above, in a low-hovering helicopter, Gautier watched it all unfold. A chill crawled down his spine.

He wasn’t surprised, though.

He had studied this woman, and more importantly, he knew the truth. Adelina was drawing her power directly from the Sun Stones embedded in the structure behind her.

With that kind of energy at her back, becoming a living furnace was nothing unusual. A flash of envy passed through Gautier’s expression.

Then came the smile because he had the same potential.

He remembered the moment he first discovered he could absorb energy from the Sun Stones. It had startled him. Eventually, he realized it was thanks to Teddy, one of the Five Sages, who had planted the method into his training long ago.

For years, Teddy had been studying how to tap into that energy. His search had led him to the Dragon Tome and forbidden martial techniques. Though relentless trial and error, he developed a method to sync his body with the power source, refining his style to absorb straight from the Sun Stones.

Unfortunately, Emmanuel had taken him out before he could use it.

Now, Gautier was waiting and watching. The moment his window opened, he would draw in the full force of the Sun Stones and rise beyond Downbringer level.

After that, Emmanuel would no longer be a rival, just a target. No one on the ground had noticed Gautier circling above.

Meanwhile, another squad was making progress.

Under Magnus’ direction, Xarri reached the third core point. He moved fast, reading the terrain like a map burned into his head.

Magnus, on the other hand, had pushed too far. Blood hit the ground as he collapsed.

Aurora and Hattie rushed to keep him conscious, but his strength faded quickly.

Across the grid, Isabella’s squad hadn’t found the fourth core point yet. Even so, her leadership had kept the team alive and mobile. In a maze like this, avoiding death was already a major win.

When they finally approached what looked like a base point, the same pattern repeated itself.

Soldiers poured in. Two elite figures stood on the wall.

“Gwain?” Xarri looked up and froze, catching sight of that familiar wild hair.

Quell spotted him, too. He reflected, Yeah… no doubt about it. Gwain’s energy is different now. He’s heavier, sharper. It’s way more dangerous than last time. This guy’s seriously something else.

Standing next to Gwain, another man stepped forward.

Tall, sharp-eyed, and wearing a smug grin, he introduced himself, “Yosef Harper. U used to be tied to the Dragon Tome. Not anymore. We found something better.”

Xarri kept his focus. “You’re talking about the Sun Stones.”

Gwain grinned. “Exactly. Do you know why the Dragon Tome was already feared? Because it wasn’t just a technique, but a system built to absorb Sun Stones’ energy. Yosef and I mastered it. Technically speaking, there’s no limit to what we can do now.”

His laughter echoed across the stone walls. Xarri had no time for it. Quell didn’t either.

“Take them down!” he shouted.

“Kill!”

Dark Night Island’s warriors charged. Their loyalty to Xarri ran deep. They weren’t just fighting, they believed.

Gwain’s eyes burned with excitement. “Time to repay the humiliation you gave me. Let’s see how round three goes, Xarri.”

He launched from the wall without hesitation.

Yosef landed right after him. Back during the Nuthana Grand Martial Showdown, he wasn’t on Gwain’s level, his power was shaky, borderline unstable. Honestly, he’d been about where Quell was now.

That didn’t seem to be the case anymore. The guy looked sharp and focused.

While Gwain went straight for Xarri, Yosef scanned the field, clearly eyeing someone important. It looked like he wanted to take down a top officer and score some points for himself.
