Chapter 2362; Divine Intervention!

Rudy heaved a deep sign. “You must escape now, Sir! Otherwise, it will be too late!”

Unable to believe his ears, Ezra simply stood frozen in place. Similarly, Gautier widened his eyes in shock and stared at Magnus with a deep sense of foreboding.

In the next moment, a huge explosion came from the north. Ezra and Gautier immediately turned in the direction of the commotion. Thanks to their high vantage point, they could see the billowing clouds of smoke and dust rising in the north, even from a distance. A large force was rapidly approaching from the north!

“Your father and I were watching you all night! How did you manage to contact Emmanuel, Mr. Magnus? How could they have appeared from the north?” Gautier seemed sour about the situation. It turned out that he had not lost to Emmanuel but to Magnus.

“You shouldn’t feel defeated!” A glance at Gautier’s expression was enough for Magnus to deduce the other party’s thoughts. He adjusted his glasses with a calm smile. “I was only able to win because of the information asymmetry. As the mole among you. I simply used your own information to report back to Emmanuel. But, if I have to be honest, the combat power of Emmanuel and the Wolf Warrior Unit has far exceeded my expectations!”

He was not trying to flatter or intimidate his father. Even though he had commanded the Wolf Warrior Unit during the eradication of the Five Poison Sect, the Wolf Warrior Unit truly possessed an astonishing level of mobility under Emmanuel’s command. They were completely different from the Wolf Warrior unit that was headed by others! For them to reach Canaan so quickly, it was not an exaggeration to regard their arrival as a divine intervention!

“Rudy, did Magnus give you instructions in advance? Did he ask you secretly contact Emmanuel about where to attack Canaan from?” Ezra sighed and glanced at Rudy with bloodshot eyes.

Rudy nodded.

“I never thought the person to betray me would be you! Why did you do this? Ezra’s eyes burned with killing intent, not just for Rudy but also for Magnus!

“Do with me what you will, Sir. It doesn’t matter whether you kill or torture me. Sigh…“ Rudy sighed heavily. “I have served the Zelinsky family for over thirty years, and I have always been loyal to you. Whether it was to kill somebody or stage a coup against Congress. I have always obeyed your orders! I would have willingly died for you! But after listening to Mr. Magnus, I finally make this difficult decision!”

“What did Magnus say to you?” Ezra roared.

Nobody had ever seen him lose his composure in such a manner before, regardless of the failures and setbacks he had experienced. That was because he knew failing here meant he might never have the chance to make a comeback again!

“Sir, it doesn’t matter who you support as president or how you used to fight for power. Those schemes remained within Chanaea, involving only the people of Chanaea!” Rudy’s eyes were filled with sorrow. “However, you are now colluding with external forces! You are trying to divide Chanaea by inviting wolves into the country!

“The country would be torn apart if you succeed, and that would make us the eternal traitors of Chanaea! Think of our family! They are all people of Chanaea! We cannot destroy the country they live in!”

Ezra closed his eyes wearily as he listened.

Sensing something was terribly wrong, Gautier quickly turned around and fled! Nobody from the Zelinsky family paid any attention to him.

“You have been so kind to my family, Mr. Zelinsky, yet I chose to follow Mr. Magnus and betrayed you! Please grant me death, Mr. Zelinsky!” Rudy remained kneeling in front of Ezra, weeping bitterly.

Ezra finally opened his eyes after a long while. Ignoring the main kneeling before him, he turned to Magnus and questioned coldly, “Are you not afraid of death for doing this?”

“I am afraid!” Magnus confirmed with a nod before he pointed at Rudy.”I believe he is afraid, too!”

Rudy nodded nervously.

“But a strong person should not stray onto the wrong path out of fear.” Magnus continued, “I must admit, I, Magnus Zelinsky, am not a good person. I might even be a bad one! Nevertheless, I know there are things that should never be done, especially when you know you are being used as a pawn!”

Ezra smiled but remained silent.

“Father, you have been controlled by your desires for most of your life. What have you gained in the end? Did you think the Eagle Nation would treat you as one of their own just because you joined them?” Magnus chuckled sadly.

“Forget the distant past, let’s talk about Teddy Tanner instead. He was reduced to nothing as soon as he was dead. In fact, your mentor immediately arranged for somebody else to take his place. He probably thought he played an important role in his life. It was not until his death that he realized one thing, he was just a clown who left behind a legacy of infamy for eternity!

“Now, look at Rudy instead. Once the truth comes out, he will be respected for what he has done. He might be nothing more than an elderly slave, but nobody will look at him in disdain because of his lowly status!

“There is a saying in Chanaea, ‘Everyone will die, but their deaths can be lighter than a feather or heavier than a mountain!’

“I, Magnus Zelinsky, may die, but I refused to be cursed after death or branded as a sinner of the nation!”

Ezra finally smiled with relief when he heard those words.

At that very moment, Emmanuel and his men arrived before the Zelinsky Family, as though gods, soldiers had descended from the sky. Thanks to the information provided by Rudy, he had rushed here with only a small team of advance troops.

The main force was still engaged in battle with the enemy forces lying in ambush along the eastern region of Canaan. Since the ambusher had been ambushed instead, the enemy forces were instantly routed!

As for the troops stationed nearby, they were swiftly defeated by the elite forces under Emmaneul. Although these armed forces appeared formidable, they were inexperienced in battle. It was no exaggeration to say that they were just a group of ragtag soldiers compared to the twenty thousand elite troops from the Northern Region!

Emmanuel observed the situation for a moment and remarked, “Am I too late? Ezra Zelinsky, will you resist? Or surrender?

When Ezra turned toward Emmanuel, he seemed to regain the aura he once had as the Mayor of Zovince. He smiled. “I am tempted to test the strength of the Northern Region War God, but I no longer wish to be a pawn for others to manipulate!”

“Oh? Caught off guard by the unexpected response, Emmanuel glanced at Magnus. “That’s impressive! I can’t believe you managed to change your father!”

“No!” Shaking his head, Magnus quickly denied the claim. “My father was previously deceived and manipulated by his mentor. Although he was too immersed in the situation to see clearly before, he has finally seen the light!”

Emmanuel solemnly said, “Are you sure, Ezra? You were the mastermind behind the attack on Congress. That is an undeniable act of treason. At your age, you will probably spend the rest of your life in prison even if you surrender!”

“What if I choose to resist?” Ezra chuckled.

Emmanuel’s response was firm. “Then you will most likely be playing chess with Teddy Tanner in hell by the end of today!”

“The Zelinsky family will be relying on you from now on!” Ezra smiled lightheartedly and patted Magnus on the shoulder affectionately. Then, he placed a vial of antidote in his son’s hand.

It was the first time Magnus had ever experienced fatherly love. He was overwhelmed by an inexplicable emotion at that moment. Looking at the smile on his father’s face, he felt as though even his soul trembled at the sight. His father did not seem to be biased as he initially thought!

Emmanuel had not expected things to proceed so smoothly. After he ordered Albin to capture Ezra, he observed the situation from a high vantage point. The twenty thousand army from the Northern Region had completely taken control of the situation!

Walking over to Magnus, he sincerely exclaimed, “I have to admit, although I am not fond of you, fighting alongside you feels pretty good!”

Magnus grinned. “Are you trying to recruit me into the Northern Region army?”
