Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO
Chapter 2336; I AM a Rebellious Son
“Just speak. I don’t have much time!”
Dragonicus relaxed in a golden chair, his legs spread out as he casually sipped his wine. He did not even glance at the two individuals standing before him.
Or should I say, two more dogs!
Gautier, a man with his own scheming nature, furrowed his brows slightly at Dragonicus’ attitude.
Ezra, on the other hand, seemed unfazed. He casually took a seat and spoke, “Don’t you desire to become king? This is a rare opportunity, yet you’re still content to serve under someone else?”
Dragonicus slightly raised his head, his gaze sharp and piercing. After a moment, he smirked dismissively. “Are you suggesting I rebel, seize control of Chanaea, and carve out my own dominion?”
Gautier was taken aback. Despite his arrogance, it was clear that Dragonicus was not lacking in intelligence.
“Isn’t that the plan?” Ezra asked, a sly smile on his face. “We’ll give you seventy percent of the land, while we take only thirty.”
“Hahaha…” Dragonicus brust into laughter, with Ezra and Gautier only standing there in silence.
“Thirty percent of the land? Who doesn’t know that thirty percent of Chanaea’s territory is nearly three million square kilometers, bigger than most nations on earth?” Dragoncus continued, his gaze suddenly sharpening as he stared at them. “But do stray dogs deserve such a vast territory?”
The insult is cutting!
“Enough with the mockery,” Gautier finally retorted with a sneer. “We lost to Emmanuel and the Wolf Warrior army, not to you! If it weren’t for our strategy, would you have taken Zovince? The groundwork was laid by our predecessors, so don’t act like you’re the one who made it happen!”
To his surprise, despite the truth in Gautier’s word, Dragonicus only laughed even harder.
Gautier, filled with disdain, glanced at Ezra, his eyes burning with a desire to silence this arrogant man. However, Ezra made a subtle gesture, signaling him to remain composed.
Despite the harsh words, they both knew that in their current position, enduring the ridicule was the wiser course.
Losing one’s composure will only deepen their downfall!
“Mayor Zelinsky – no, Mr. Zelinsky, if my sources are correct, you’re a disciple of a certain prominent figure from Eagle Nation, correct?” Dragonicus deliberately provoked Ezra, yet Ezra remained calm, giving a slight nod.
“I also know that this prominent figure once tried to recruit Atticus Sheffield-Grey, but he refused his demands and met a tragic end.” Dragonicus mentioned, calling out his father’s name, a wicked grin spreading across his face. “I suppose your so-called Five Sages had a hand in his downfall, didn’t they?”
“Exactly,” Ezra replied without hesitation, his tone filled with pride. “Anyone who refuses to comply with the divine will is destined to die, including you!”
Gautier realized how ruthless Ezra truly was. He had dared to provoke the legendry war god in this very place.
“Hahaha…” Dragonicus laughed maniacally. “I was actually hoping you’d treat me this way, Mr. Zelinsky! You should know, though I am a rebellious son with nothing but hatred for Atticus Sheffield-Grey, I am not a traitor. I am no betrayer of my country!”
His words were a direct response to both men.
Ezra’s expression darkened and turned cold.
Gautier, on edge, realized that despite his growth, he was still no match for the likes of Ezra and Dragonicus.
Boom!
Suddenly, with a powerful motion, Ezra shattered the window with a palm and jumped out, pulling Gautier along.
Yet, Dragonicus did not pursue them. In his eyes, while Ezra was formidable, Gautier this trash, was beneath him, unworthy of death at his hands.
With a smirk, he adjusted his collar, his arrogance new heights. He slowlly walked out of the room, heading toward the banquet hall.
Inside the banquet hall, hundreds of dignitaries – figures whose very footsteps could cause an earthquake, were already present.
Such a spectacle is rare indeed!
In Chanaea, many might boast of being above others, but in truth, only one person could truly claim the title of being above all.
And tonight, that person person was none other than Dragonicus.
With 10,000 soldiers stationed in Zovince, he could do as he pleased without anyone daring to oppose him.
So, whether it was the top officials of Zovince or the wealthiest individuals, even those with extensive connections, none dared compare themselves to the Tocvale War God, who held military power. At this moment, they were no different from ordinary people, waiting in the banquet hall.
As for Zovince’s once-elite figures-those fighters who had previously slain wolves and tigers to earn their reputations, they were not even allowed entry.
The same went for families whose influence had waned.
The Tanner family, the Zelinsky family, and others with ties to them could only gather outside the hall, a mere formality to show they had attended the coronation of the 6-Star Ward God.
In stark contrast, the Quillen family from Yeringham, a second-rate city, not only had all their members allowed into the banquet hall but were also seated in the front rows.
When the 6-Star War God finally appeared, they would be among the first to see him. For others, this was an immense honor, but to Mackenzie and Terence, it meant little.
Beatrix even muttered with disdain, “If that guy from Tocvale doesn’t show up soon, I’m leavening!”
Hannah, hearing this, was terrified, beads of cold sweat forming on her forehead.
Of course, no one dared to say anything to Beatrix, for she was sitting beside another formidable figure.
He was the newly appointed Northern Region Commander, Emmanuel.
Some perceptive individuals, noticing the scene, could already sense something major was about to unfold in Zovince.
As the old saying went, “Too many cooks will spoil the soup”, and with two war gods in Zovince, rumors had begun to circulate that Dragonicus seemed to be eyeing Mackenzie. The fact that these two “cooks” had not crashed yet seemed quite strange.
Naturally, while many were eager to witness the drama, they were careful with their words, not daring to speak out of turn.
After all, neither Emmanuel nor Dragonicus was someone anyone would dare provoke. If these two titans clashed, all anyone could do was run and hide in the corners to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
Much to their surprise, two full hours passed without Dragonicus’ arrival. Instead, Elric entered with a group of Tocvale warriors, nonchalantly announcing.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the 6-Star War God has urgent matters to attend to. Please remain seated for now, and when he arrives, we will rise to greet him.”
What the hell?
Many in the banquet hall felt like a thousand horses were charging through their minds upon hearning this.
Yet, despite the frustration, no one dared show dissatisfaction or even move a muscle.
Some immediately began to flatter with forced smiles. “What kind of person is the 6-Star War God? We’re fortunate to witness his ceremony. Even if we have to wait for three hours, or three days and nights, it does not matter at all.”
