Chapter 2055 Gwain Emerges From Seclusion

Emmanuel definitely intended to deal with Gautier, but he didn’t yet have the excuse or time. So, he simply reassured his sister, “As soon as the opportunity presents itself, I’ll make sure to kill him. Better to eliminate the threat now than let it fester.” He didn’t plan to discuss it with Mackenzie. Instead, he would act first and inform her later. While eliminating Gautier might bring some complications- like leaving the branch office without a manager-someone so deeply scheming couldn’t be allowed to remain.

Meanwhile, at the Lannister Estate, Hank was standing guard outside a room where Gwain was in seclusion, practicing the Dragon Tome. Hank’s job was to ensure no one disturbed him.

It had been three days since Gwain went into seclusion. Hank had no idea how Gwain’s training was progressing, but word had reached him that in three days, Yorick would be arriving in Zovince. His plan was to challenge and defeat the Eight SuprGrandmasters before facing the Lannister family. With the whereabouts of the family patriarch unknown, the Lannister family would undoubtedly need Gwain to step up. If Gwain couldn’t master the Dragon Tome in time, they’d be humiliated and potentially lose their standing in Zovince overnight.

“Hank, how’s Mr. Gwain doing?” Wyatt Lannister suddenly appeared, addressing Hank.

“Oh, look who’s finally here to check on Mr. Gwain,” Hank sneered, his attitude sour. He hadn’t forgotten that Wyatt had kept his distance for almost two weeks after returning to Zovince. Like many of the other younger Lannisters, Hank suspected Wyatt was eyeing the position of heir.

Cut the nonsense!” Wyatt shot back coldly. “If I had any ambition to take over, may I never die a peaceful death! Besides, even if I wanted it, I’m not capable. My talent doesn’t come close to Mr. Gwain’s.”

“Why have you been avoiding him like the other young Lannisters then?” Hank demanded.

“I’m not going to discuss that. The situation right now is too complicated the Martial Saint is coming, elections are happening, and the West End is dealing with disasters and bandits. All of Chanaea is in turmoil, and every faction in the Lannister family has its own agenda. It’s a mess…” Wyatt rambled for a bit before getting to his point. “I come to check on Mr. Gwain’s progress.

Historically, for the Lannisters to survive chaotic times, we’ve always needed a leader who could stand strong, but right now, the family is in a precarious position.”

“Yeah, I’m worried about that too,” Hank admitted, now that he was sure Wyatt had no ill intentions toward Gwain.

“Mr. Gwain’s reputation exceeds his current strength. Frankly, he’s not only unprepared to face a Martial Saint- he’s not even on Emmanuel’s level.” They had all been present in Eldoria at the Quill family residency when they saw firsthand the terrifying power of Emmanuel’s strikes. If Gwain had been in Emmanuel’s place that day, he wouldn’t have been able to produce such overwhelming force. They underestimated Emmanuel strategically, but tactically, they took him very seriously.

Click. As they spoke, the door to the room suddenly opened. Gwain stepped out, and both Hank and Wyatt rushed forward to greet him.

“Mr. Gwain, you’re out! How’s your progress with the Dragon Tome?” Hank asked eagerly.

Wyatt quickly noticed something was different about Gwain. His aura had changed, becoming much colder than before. His once refined and elegant demeanor had been replaced with a steely, almost chilling presence, especially in his eyes-they no longer held the warmth of a gentleman.

“Heh, I can feel my internal strength has grown considerably. If I could practice the complete set, I’d be truly invincible!” Gwain said, lifting his hands and feeling the surge of power within him.

“That’s incredible, Mr. Gwain! If we can capture Roselynn or kill Emmanuel and get Gautier to hand over the second half of the Dragon Tome, once you’ve mastered it, you’ll have nothing to fear-not Yorick nor anyone else in the world!” Hank shared in Gwain’s excitement.

“How about testing your strength first, Mr. Gwain?” Wyatt suggested, remaining level-headed.

He had two motives. First, he wanted to gauge how much stronger Gwain had become. Second, he wanted to see if there were any flaws in his training.” Something felt a bit off to him.

Alright!” Gwain agreed, eager to put his newfound power to the test. However, half an hour later, after smashing stones and trees in the backyard, Gwain found himself clenching his teeth in frustration. What Emmanuel had figured out in just one night took Gwain three days and nights of intense practice to realize-he had raw power but couldn’t fully use it. His bottleneck was significant: no matter how much power he built up, the output was limited. His endurance might have improved, but against someone like Yorick, he would still be defeated within three moves.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Gwain. It’s likely because you’ve only practiced half of the Dragon Tome. The fact that you’ve made progress in just three days is remarkable. Once you obtain the second half, you’ll be unstoppable Hank quickly tried to soothe his frustration.

Sure enough, Gwain gradually calmed down, though he still gritted his teeth.

“D”mn that Gautier! He insists I have to take down Emmanuel before he’ll give the second half. But right now, I might not even be able to defeat him!” Wyatt was relieved that Gwain still had enough clarity to realize his limits. If he had rushed off to confront Emmanuel without thinking, it would likely have ended in humiliation.

“Mr. Gwain, we could go after Roselynn instead,” Hank suggested. “She’s a much easier target than her brother.” “Good idea!” Gwain praised him.

Wyatt, what are you waiting for? Let’s go find that women, Alright! Gwain saw them with gratinate, the two hurried off. Once they were outside the place, Wyatt asked Hank, you know where to find Rosalynn? Or you just argand for seating. Just then, his phone rang, Violet was crying on the phone and shouting, you have to come and stand up for me! I was humiliated so badly!”

“What? Someone actually dared bully you?!” Hank’s temper flared instantly. Although he acted as a loyal retainer to Gwain, in Zovince, Hank was a figure to be reckoned with. As a first-class martial retainer of the Lannister family, few would dare mess with his fiance. The last time a clueless scion offended Violet, Hank broke the guy’s legs, and the scion’s father even came personally to apologize.

“Yes, it happened at Empire Heights Mall in Zone 3. You have to come and teach them a lesson!” Violet continued sobbing.

“I’ll be there right away!” Hank promised without hesitation. But after hanging up, Wyatt chuckled at him. “Weren’t we supposed to help Mr. Gwain find Roselynn Lowe? Or are you hoping to find her at your fiance’s side?”

“Uh… well…” Hank fumbled for a response, caught between duties.

“Go ahead. When I find Roselynn, I’ll let Mr. Gwain know that you were off playing hooky!” Wyatt teased before walking away.

Hank sighed. He had already promised Violet, so he couldn’t back out now.

Besides, it wouldn’t take long to handle things at the mall, and searching for Roselynn wasn’t exactly an urgent task. He decided to deal with Violet problem first and then focus on finding Roselynn afterward.
