Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO
Chapter 1987; The Ruthless Beauty
“Yes!”
Larry nodded honestly. “But I doubt my pleas will do you any good. If you show up at the Quill estate tomorrow and lose, your fate will be sealed–you’ll die.”
Emmanuel couldn’t help but laugh. First of all, he didn’t believe for a second that he would lose. Secondly, Larry’s blunt honesty was a breath of fresh air compared to the usual hypocritical chatter.
“Stop the car!” Emmanuel suddenly ordered Sage. He then turned to Larry.
“Go back home. I don’t need a hostage. Just deliver a message to the Quills for me–if my sister suffers even the slightest harm, I’ll wipe your entire family off the face of the earth. There won’t be a single blade of grass left standing. And I mean every word.”
Larry could hardly bear the terrifying aura radiating from Emmanuel. His heart pounded in his chest as he nodded. He had clearly underestimated this man.
Fear gripped him as the horrifying thought crossed his mind. What if Owen has done something to his sister? If that happens, the Quill family is doomed!
Meanwhile, back at the Quill family estate…
Gwain and his two companions had arrived just as Owen had planned. Owen had already tied up Roselynn in a side room, waiting for them to arrive.
“Miss Roselynn, why did you deceive me?” Gwain’s voice was cold as ice, the graceful demeanor he once carried was gone, his eyes were now dark and ruthless.
Looking at him now, no one could connect this’ cruel figure with the world–renowned gentleman he had once appeared to be.
Hey You man–using at these dirty tactics to deal with a single woman. Do you ashamed of yourselves?
Owen had come expecting to witness something far more scandalous, but things weren’t playing out the way he had imagined. “B*tch! Don’t push your luck!”
Gwain ignored Owen and pointed at Roselynn with fury in his eyes. “The Dragon Tome rightfully belongs to my family! If you don’t recite it, don’t blame me for what happens next! I’ll make you wish you were dead!”
With her fiery temper, Roselynn refused to be intimidated by threats. She sneered, her voice laced with sarcasm. Go ahead, kill me! See what you get out of it!” She wasn’t even sure if the Dragon Tome she memorized was authentic or not, but seeing how obsessed Gwain was with it, she was determined not to
give in.
A man like him, with all his hypocrisy and wickedness, can never be allowed to gain that kind of power, If he masters that martial arts technique, he’ll be unstoppable, and the world will pay the price.
But more than that, he’s an enemy. If he gets any stronger, Emmanuel and the others will be in unimaginable danger.
Smack! Another vicious slap from Gwain knocked Roselynn unconscious.
Blood streamed from her nose and ears, and her face was a ghastly mess.
“Mr. Lannister, hitting her won’t do any good,” Owen remarked, finally unable to hold his tongue.
Gwain let out a cold grunt. His anger had gotten the best of him, and in his lack of experience, he had resorted to nothing but slapping a woman.
Just then, the door to the side room swung open. To everyone’s surprise, Yuna walked in, flanked by bodyguards.
“Mr. Gwain, what are you all doing?”
Yuna had learned from Emmanuel that Roselynn was being held at the Quill estate, and she had rushed ahead to set things in motion.
After all, she was almost certain that Emmanuel was none other than the Northern Region Wolf, her father’s biggest enemy. If she could find a way to eliminate him, her father would finally be able to rest easy.
“Ms. Tanner!” Owen’s eyes instantly lit up.
Even though Yuna wearing a veil, her alluring figure, those mesmerizing eyes, and the faint, intoxicating fragrance that accompanied her left him completely entranced.
To Yuna, Owen was nothing more than a stray dog–her attention was solely on the handsome Gwain.
“Hmph! This woman has seen the Dragon Tome, yet she stubbornly refuses to recite it to me. I had no choice but to get rough with her!” Gwain was clearly in a foul mood.
He had recently come to realize that he wasn’t the best in the world. Worse, there were already calls for him to represent Chanaea against Shoiyans.
If this continued, he would eventually be forced to fight, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to handle the humiliation if he lost in front of the whole world. His reputation would be shattered.
“Mr. Gwain, you can’t just keep hitting her like this. You’ve got to use some real tactics.
“Tactics?”
“Yeah! Like standing on her toes, sticking needles under her fingernails, or driving a nail into her forehead… When dealing with someone stubborn like her, you’ve got to be a bit cruel!”
Owen couldn’t help but shiver at Yuna’s words. Is this really one of the famed Four Beauties?
Beneath that flawless exterior beats a heart as venomous as a snake’s. Even Gwain flinched a little at her suggestion, but as he recalled all the humiliation he had suffered, his rage flared up once more. Gritting his teeth, he growled, “Fine, let’s do it. But I’m not very skilled at these things.”
“Let me help you then. After all, I am the woman standing behind you,” Yuna said as she leaned closer.
Hank and Wyatt exchanged knowing glances.
They had long suspected that the Four Beauties weren’t just about looks-each of them had sharp minds and cunning tactics. Clearly, Yuna had inherited more than just her beauty.
A moment later, a bucket of cold water was dumped over Roselynn’s head, jolting her awake. She looked around and saw that she was tied to a chair. Her arms and legs were tightly bound, and she couldn’t move at all.
“Roselynn, I suggest you hurry up and recite the Dragon Tome, or I’m afraid I’ll have no choice but to hurt you,” Yuna said sweetly, holding a toothpick and tracing it along Roselynn’s ring finger. The look in Yuna’s eyes sent a chill down Roselynn’s spine. This woman is as cold and ruthless as a snake.
I won’t!” Roselynn refused without hesitation.
Stab!
Without missing a beat, Yuna drove the toothpick under Roselynn’s fingernail.
“Ahh! Ahhh!”
Roselynn screamed in agony, her body convulsing as she struggled desperately against the ropes. The bindings dug deep into her skin, leaving bloody marks behind.
“Hold her down!”
Yuna ordered the two bodyguards coldly.
Owen winced at the sight, goosebumps crawling all over his skin. Even watching this scene made him feel the pain coursing through his own boy. Wyatt sighed heavily and turned his head away, unable to bear the sight.
However, Gwain didn’t flinch. In his mind, Roselynn had brought this upon herself.
“I’ll give you ten seconds. If you still can’t remember, the second one’s coming,” Yuna said sweetly, her eyes as beautiful as the moon, yet her words sent chills down everyone’s spine.
“Ten… three, two, one!”
Stab!
Without hesitation, the second toothpick was driven into Roselynn’s nail. Blood splattered from the wound.
“Ahhhh!”
Even with her high tolerance for pain, Roselynn’s screams echoed through the room. Cold sweat instantly drenches her body.
“Alright, time to start counting again,” Yuna said with a twisted smile. Hank stood frozen, barely able to breathe as he watched this beautiful woman carry out such cruelty. Could it really be possible that Master Gwian would marry her one day?
Hank didn’t even dare to breathe, staring in disbelief at the beautiful woman before him. Is Mr. Gwain really planning to marry her? By the time the countdown ended, the third toothpick was stabbed in without mercy.
Roselynn finally couldn’t take it anymore and passed out from the excruciating pain.
“Wake her up!
Yuna commanded coldly.
The bodyguards dumped another bucket of cold water over Roselynn. Groggily, she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Yuna’s cold stare, and a shiver ran through her as fear took over.
