Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO

Chapter 2338; You Look Like the Lady That I Like

“Emmanuel, why aren’t you kneeling? Dragonicus’ voice was cold as he noticed Emmanuel standing tall.

The Quillen family’s entourage was on edge.

Not everyone could remain composed in front of a 6-Star War God. Not everyone could match Mackenzie’s poise when faced with such a situation.

“Chanaea has no rule that demands kneeling to anyone, not even to the president!” Emmanuel replied calmly.

“How dare you!” One of the Tocvale soldiers behind Elric immediately snapped at Emmanuel, his voice full of fury.

“The Tocvale War God not only saved your wife but also sacrificed his life to protect Chanaea. He’s your superior, a figure you should revere. Yet here you are, showing disrespect in front of everyone. How dare you?”

Though aggressive, his words carried weight, applying immense pressure on Emmanuel.

But Emmanuel did not respond to the soldier’s subordinate. Instead, he turned to face Dragonicus. “Do you want me to kneel? I wonder if you’re worthy of my kneeling?”

“Haha, as a 6-Star War God, how could I not handle a kneel from someone like you, a 5-Star Battle General?” Dragonicus smirked, completely disregarding Emmanuel’s words.

“Did you hear that? Kneel!” ordered Joseph Robinson, the vanguard general of Dragonicus.

Not only was he hot-headed, but he also possessed SS-rank strength. He could not tolerate any disrespect toward the war god, and was ready to act against Emmanuel.

His only loyalty was to the Tocvale War God. He held the Northern Region War God in little regard and was eager to show Emmanuel just how powerful a Tocvale soldier was.

His aura was violent, causing the people around him to feel sharp pain, forcing them to step back.

The pressure in the air was overwhelming, making it difficult for anyone nearby to even breathe.

Yet, Mackenzie, standing beside Emmanuel, seemed completely unaffected. It wasn’t that she had the strength to resist the immense pressure; it was Emmanuel who shielded her from all of it, taking the brunt of the force on her behalf.

“Adults are speaking, children should stop causing trouble! Get lost!” Emmanuel barked, his voice filled with fury as he deflected all the searing energy back at Joseph.

Even someone as strong as Joseph spat blood and was sent flying several meters away.

What just happened?! The whole crowed was shocked.

Elric’s heart raced, and the Tocvale soldiers finally understood the source of Emmanuel’s terrifying power! Such strength… might even rival the Tocvale War God!

Boom!

When Joseph finally stopped rolling on the ground, everyone’s gaze turned toward Dragonicus, gasping in disbelief.

Emmanuel as acted with such arrogance. There are 10,000 Tocvale soldiers in Zovince, and tonight is the 6-Star War God’s coronation banquet. How dare he treat Dragonicus’ subordinate like this, right in front of the war god himself?

Isn’t this clearly disrespecting the 6-Star War God?

Click, click, click!

Without Dragonicus giving a word, countless guns were aimed directly at Emmanuel.

If he gave the order, Emmanuel would likely become the target, showered with bullets.

The Quillen family immediately tensed up, especially Hannah and her husband. The now regretted attending and wished they had never come.

Even Beatrix who was so anxious she clung tightly to her grandfather’s sleeve, afraid to speak out of turn.

“Do you want to kill me?” Facing the fierce stance of the Tocvale soldiers, Emmanuel remained unshaken and challenged Dragonicus, “Go on ahead, then.”

At that moment, every soul in the room seemed to tremble as Emmanuel was truly reckless.

Does he have a death wish?

Elric quivered slightly as he glanced at Dragonicus.

The clash between these two war gods had escalated so quickly, and in the blink of an eye, they were on the verge of bloodshed. The fate of the room rested entirely on Emmanuel’s next move.

The tension is unbearable!

Dragonicus’ explosive temper was well known among the Tocvale people.

If he dares to defy heaven itself, surely, he’ll not hesitate to strike down someone beneath him?

At the critical moment, Mackenzie suddenly stepped forward, placing herself between Emmanuel and Dragonicus, who were both taken aback, saying, “We are couple. If you want to shoot, then aim at both of us!”

In that instant, Dragoncius’ gaze turned complicated. It’s as unpredictable as the sky in early summer!

Although Emmanuel was unafraid of Dragonicus, he understood that escalating this confrontation would not benefit anyone. A true man knows when to yield for the greater good!

“Put down your guns, all of you!” Dragonicus commanded coldly.

The well-trained Fierce Claw Army immediately lowered their guns in prefect formation, as they were simply following orders. Emmanuel secretly admired this guy’s ability to head his army.

Dragonicus slowly turned to Mackenzie and flashed a wide smile. “Mackenzie, it’s truly wonderful to have you here to witness my moment of triumph!”

Those seemingly simply words carried a layer of meaning that immediately deepened the rift between him and Emmanuel.

“Is.. Is it you?!”

Upon hearing the statement, Mackenzie finally triggered her memory, realizing who this man truly was. No wonder she had always felt a strange sense of familiarity.

She remembered a time when she was only six years old.

Samantha had taken her out, and they had came across a young beggar a few years older than her.

Despite his ragged appearance, the beggar’s eyes radiated undeniable arrogance and dignity. He sat quietly, watching passerby, without asking anyone for help.

Out of curiosity and kindness, Mackenzie had offered him some money and piece of bread. “It’s for you!”

He had looked up, stunned for a moment.

“What’s wrong with you? It was not until Mackenzie spoke again that the beggar snapped out of it, but he did not express gratitude or happiness. Instead, he laughed heartily.

“Little girl, do you think that I’m a beggar? I’m a super scion and richer than you!”

“Stop clinging to your pride.” Samantha had scoffed, “You look disheveled, covered in dust. What else could you be but a beggar?”

“Haha, I just got tired of that old man at home, always forcing me to practice this and that, so I ran away!” the beggar had proudly replied.

“I never expected to meet such a beautiful lady along the way. I followed her and stayed here for three years, just to see her again!”

“Beautiful lady?” Mackenzie had been both curious and surprised.

“What a little flirt!” Samantha had laughed.

However, the beggar did not care at all. He continued to smile. “Little girl, you look a lot like that beautiful lady! I didn’t marry her on time, but once I reach the peak, I will come back to marry you!”

“Mackenzie, don’t listen to this little flirt. Let’s go!” Samantha had pulled Mackenzie away.

Mackenzie could not help but look back at the beggar’s smile, feeling an odd excitement. She ran back to ask, “Hey, what did that beautiful lady look like? Could she be my mom?

Samantha had been startled.
