Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 89: Whale Song (58)

Dragon Raja 5

The secret party lost face, and they had to guard against the theft of important information. They had to leave people to defend branches in various places, which greatly affected their manpower to hunt down Lu Mingfei. The branches around the world were originally their minions, but now they have become their weak points.

“It is almost certain that the other party’s purpose is to distract us and prevent us from going all out to hunt down Lu Mingfei,” said Mr. Vanderbilt.

“Does Lu Mingfei have any accomplices?” Beowulf pondered. “If we’re not dealing with a fleeing monster, but an organization, things will be much more difficult.”

“A monster capable of rivaling the Dragon King has escaped. Even if he doesn’t belong to any organization, there will be organizations that want to find him and control him,” Mr. Turing said. “His appearance has already affected the balance: the balance between hybrid organizations, the balance between humans and hybrids, and even… the balance between the Dragon Kings. But now is not the time to worry about the balance. There are two monsters active on Earth at the same time, one in Tokyo and the other in the Arctic Circle. They must be controlled so that we have time to breathe and consider our next steps.”

“How are things going beyond the Arctic Circle?” Beowulf asked.

“The team was led by Professor Schneider, the head of the executive department. All the elite personnel who had stayed at the college headquarters participated in the operation, including Caesar, Abbas and Finger. The executive department purchased a large ship, the equipment department was responsible for the modification, and the Moniach served as the reserve force. We have made full preparations this time.” Mr. Vanderbilt said.

“Could it really be Leviathan?” Beowulf pondered. “That creature mentioned only in apocryphal books, whose existence we only speculate on.”

“No one knows what that thing is, and no one knows if it’s really called Leviathan. The name isn’t important, but what is certain is that there’s a big thing swimming in the Arctic Ocean.”

“When does the whaling fleet set out?”

“We’ll need a few days to prepare. Caesar and his men should arrive in Aberdeen today.”

Aberdeen Harbour, Scotland.

On the river that runs through the city, cargo ships cut through the waves, the sky is gloomy, tall trees are swaying, and there are ancient buildings on both sides of the river, with sharp spires everywhere.

This city has rich in history and one of Scotland’s largest, but it has only a few hundred thousand people. However, as a natural harbor, it is very important. Many major shipping companies have their home ports here, and its berths can accommodate giant oil tankers.

In the cabin, helicopters have been dispatched to transport heavy equipment onto the ship, and engineers from the equipment department are also working on it. These equipment will be debugged within a few days, including the Storm torpedoes that were once used in the Three Gorges Reservoir.

Considering that this hypervelocity torpedo only inflicted heavy damage to Dragon King Norton, rather than a fatal blow, the Equipment Department added additional materials and made improvements. Caesar could guess what that improvement was: it was probably the fire elemental crystal extracted from Norton’s keel. Although the keel was stolen, there was still a small amount of that crystal in stock.

They also had to carry a lot of equipment with them, from folding tents, cold-proof clothing to ice axes, and of course Caesar’s Desert Eagle, Dick Tudo and Abbas’s crescent-shaped Persian knives.

Caesar was oiling his Desert Eagle while Abbas was carefully sharpening his knife.

“I told you we are going whale hunting, okay? Is it any use for you to do all this? A whale that may be the Dragon King, are you going to fight it with guns and swords?” Finger said with disdain.

“Maybe we will encounter a polar bear? Are you going to use a storm torpedo to deal with it or bite it?” Caesar said without even raising his head.

“I’m planning on getting away from you two bastards, so if I see a polar bear I’ll run. I have a pair of shoes perfect for running.” Finger showed them his sealskin boots. “Why don’t you two just go fight the polar bear?”

It was understandable that this guy was unhappy the whole way, as he was carried onto the plane by Caesar and Abbas on his left and right.

As the cargo ship exited the river and entered the harbor, the water immediately changed from a slate-gray hue to a chillingly deep azure. This was a massive deepwater port, shrouded in thick fog. When large oil tankers weighing tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of tons emerged from the mist, their sides seemed like towering walls reaching to the sky.

The cargo ship passed the tankers and continued to sail out to sea.

“I say, is the ship that EVA bought for us reliable? Why does it have to park far away when such a giant oil tanker can park in the port?” Finger muttered.

“The ship is undergoing modifications to avoid being seen. Also, it is said that the ship is not very convenient for people to see,” said Abbas.

The coastline was getting farther and farther away, and finally they were completely immersed in the thick fog. If it weren’t for the navigation instrument, they would not have been able to navigate at all.

“Stop, we’re here,” Schneider said.

The cargo ship drew a huge arc on the sea and stopped. Schneider stood up and looked in a certain direction, and Finger also stretched his neck to look over there.
