Dragon Raja 5

Crow threw the phone out fiercely, and it slid to the feet of Fujiwara Nobunosuke. The screen was broken, but it was still playing the bangzi opera.

“This is the gift you gave me, right? The academy suspects that I am secretly protecting Lu Jun and wants to feed the poison to Lu Jun through my hands?” Crow slowly sat back in the burgundy swivel chair and turned around.

His desk was against a huge floor-to-ceiling window, outside of which was the view of Shibuya district. He looked past the densely packed high-rise buildings and gazed at the horizon, no longer paying attention to Fujiwara Nobunosuke.

There would definitely be no conclusion if he confronted the academy face to face about this matter. The academy just borrowed the outdoor advertising broadcasting network controlled by the Eight Snake Families. Ryuji Saeki patted his chest and said that he would assist the academy. It would be a bit of an exaggeration for him to get so angry about this matter.

But Crow couldn’t bear this. After all, the academy had clearly expressed its distrust of the Eight Snake Clans by doing this. Although everyone said they were as close as family on the surface, they all knew in their hearts that the other party did not regard them as friends.

“The…the academy also wants to know why Director Saeki appeared on the nearby overpass that night. It would be a bit of a coincidence…” Fujiwara Nobunosuke said stutteringly.

“This is Tokyo, this is our territory! In this city, I would know immediately if even a convenience store was robbed. How could I not know that you guys used a helicopter with heavy weapons to snipe Lu Mingfei? Is there anything strange about me being at the scene?”

“You also tried to stop the academy’s executive officers from attacking Lu Mingfei.”

“The heavy weapons you’re so proud of are mere fireworks against a Dragon King-level monster! But that creature was in the process of transforming into a dragon, and the fireworks would only enrage him!” Crow roared. “I repeat! This is Tokyo! This is our territory! How are we supposed to deal with the aftermath of irritating a monster in the process of transforming into a dragon and wantonly using heavy weapons to destroy an entire street?”

Crow had already thought of this argument. I didn’t let you fire at Lu Mingfei not to protect Lu Mingfei, but to protect Tokyo. This is the territory of the Snake Eight Clans. The academy must inform the Snake Eight Clans of everything it does.

Of course, the academy wouldn’t want to inform the Snake Eight Clans, so there was no agreement. Even if they couldn’t reach an agreement, they still had to talk. This was adult politics. He, Saeki Ryuji, was now a politician too. It was truly disheartening to think about it.

Fujiwara Nobunosuke hesitated for a long time, walked forward cautiously, placed a large envelope on Crow’s desk, and then quickly retreated.

Crow looked at Fujiwara Nobunosuke suspiciously, opened the envelope, and inside was a copy of a property purchase contract. Crow glanced at the address and his face changed slightly.

“Last night, a warehouse caught fire near the scene of the incident. That warehouse was nominally owned by a logistics company, but that company was controlled by the Eight Snake Families. Our specialist tracked Lu Mingfei and others to that warehouse, and it seems that they was hiding there.” Fujiwara Nobunosuke said while secretly glancing at Crow’s expression.

The crow’s face was gloomy and uncertain.

He had already learned about the warehouse fire through a phone call. Since such an important place as the “Teachers and Students’ Warehouse” had caught fire, his subordinates would of course report it to Director Saeki Ryuji as soon as possible, but they didn’t know what exactly had happened and hadn’t been able to contact Nono. Now it seemed that this was the worst case scenario.

But Crow first had to face direct questioning from the academy. Fujiwara Nobunosuke had come prepared, and simply pretending wouldn’t get him away with it. Crow’s face was sullen, but his mind was working rapidly.

“Saeki-kun, there’s something I want to say, but I’m not sure if I should say it or not…” Fujiwara Nobunosuke said. Even at this point, he was still hesitant.

“I’m all ears.” The crow looked at him coldly.

Fujiwara Nobunosuke took a deep breath and raised his head. “Actually, when I first met Saeki-kun, I was prepared to be rejected by you.”

The crow was stunned.

“I’ve never believed in righteousness, but I do believe in friendship,” Fujiwara Nobunosuke said. “Who can really shoulder all the world’s affairs? The only people you truly care about are just a few. Because you care about those friends, you care about the world that includes them.”

Crow looked at the round-faced man who suddenly became serious with confusion.

“According to my information, Saeki-kun doesn’t have many friends. Even when the previous head of the family, Minamoto-no-Chisei-kun, was still alive, your friends were only a few people like Minamoto-no-Chisei-kun, Yasha, and Miss Sakura…”

“Just say what you want to say! Don’t talk so much nonsense!” Crow rudely interrupted Fujiwara Nobunosuke. He would just keep those people who were no longer with him in his heart and didn’t want to discuss them with strangers.
