Dragon Raja 5

Giovanni poured a handful of bullets from the box. The people at Cassel College would be astonished to see these bullets. Each one was equipped with a Philosopher’s Stone bullet, making it an extremely rare and limited edition among dragon-slaying weapons. It could even cause severe damage to dragon king-level targets.

With a cold expression, Giovanni loaded the giant python with bullets, her movements swift and efficient, showing the skill of a seasoned gunsman. Then, she picked up the gun and pushed open Lu Mingfei’s bedroom door.

Lu Mingfei was jolted awake by a slap. In the darkness, Giovanni’s eyes gleamed like a wolf’s, her voice low and brooking no refusal, “Put your clothes on and come with me! Now!”

The effects of the sleeping pills were still lingering, and Lu Mingfei was completely dazed, but he was still frightened by his mother’s fierce expression. “Mom, where are we going?”

“Don’t ask questions!” Giovanni threw the winter coat on Lu Mingfei’s head.

Seeing that Lu Mingfei was still confused and at a loss, Giovanni simply took off her son’s pajamas, leaving him only in his underwear, and then quickly put a thick fleece and a winter coat on him before lifting him onto the wheelchair.

Lu Mingfei had never seen his mother like this before. In his mind, his mother was powerful, but she was just a domineering housewife. However, the energy that Giovanni was showing at this moment was like that of a top specialist in the executive department.

Lu Mingfei stared blankly as his mother fixed her hair in front of the mirror, practiced smiling, and even drew on beautiful long eyebrows. This middle-aged woman, who shopped, cooked, and cleaned the house, suddenly looked ten years younger, exuding a youthful spirit. She operated her laptop, and the control interfaces from Lu Lincheng’s office appeared one by one on the home computer. Giovanni skillfully hacked into each system. Almost every space in this haven was under tight surveillance. Every time a resident opened or closed a door, it was visible in the control room. Accessing electricity required a card, like in a hotel; removing the card meant the person had left the room. Surveillance cameras were installed in the hallways, and infrared scanners repeatedly scanned each courtyard, monitoring those moving about. Aside from personal privacy, there were no secrets here. This wasn’t surprising; this was humanity’s fortress against the apocalypse, not a paradise for unrestrained nature.

Giovanni put the giant python into a somewhat old-fashioned handbag, covered it with a windproof scarf, and pushed Lu Mingfei out in a wheelchair.

Lu Mingfei didn’t ask any questions, nor did he resist. He was stunned by Giovanni’s expression, and at the same time, he had no reason not to trust his mother.

When he woke up from his dream and instinctively hugged his mother, she hugged him back tightly and said, “Mom loves you!” It was like an unbreakable declaration.

As the door slammed shut behind him, Lu Mingfei knew that he had once again closed another option in his life.

Even though it’s so late, there were still people leaning against the wall smoking under the lights at the building entrance. Giovanni pushed her wheelchair past him and said casually, “If you can’t sleep, ask your mom to take you out for some fresh air. Don’t toss and turn by yourself.”

They strolled in the courtyard, fine snow falling on their shoulders. After walking quite a distance, Lu Mingfei quietly turned back; the man was still silently smoking at the entrance of the building.

“Mingfei, do you trust your mom?” Giovanni asked softly.

“I believe you,” Lu Mingfei replied simply.

“Cutting might kill you, and even if you survive, the outcome won’t be what you want. You don’t have to be a hero, you don’t have to do what others want you to do every time. Mom just wants you to be happy, nothing else matters. I’m your mom, and I have the right to be selfish.”

“My dad wants me to agree to do that cut.”

“Don’t trust him, he’s just like those guys in committee.” Giovanni paused. “Actually, you shouldn’t even trust me. Just run, run as far away as possible.”

“Are all these people here to spy on me?” Lu Mingfei looked around seemingly casually. In the dead of night, there were people shoveling snow and young people whispering sweet nothings under the trees. With the colorful lights wrapped around the trees, they seemed to be in a rather quiet amusement park.

“You graduated from Cassel College, and you’ve learned enough to distinguish who the surveillance agents are.”

“All of them, without exception,” Lu Mingfei said. “There are also patrol dog teams; we can’t leave without transportation.”

Giovanni pushed him into the woods, and the snowshoveler immediately stopped what he was doing and followed, dragging his shovel and hiding his other hand inside his clothes. Giovanni must have entered an area out of surveillance, which alerted him. But Giovanni simply pushed the wheelchair slowly, and they chatted quietly. Giovanni adjusted Lu Mingfei’s scarf, and the mother and son seemed very warm together. Whenever they stopped, the man pretended to be shoveling snow, and Lu Mingfei guessed that he was a novice, but strong and powerful.

Giovanni stopped, pulled a pack of cigarettes from her bag, and pick one. Lu Mingfei stared in disbelief; his mother looked like a glamorous female spy when she smoked a cigarette. Giovanni looked around, then waved to the guy shoveling snow, “Hey! Can I borrow a light?”

The guy was clearly a bit confused, but he still stuck the snow shovel into the snowdrift, took out a lighter, and walked over.

This was a huge guy who was nearly two meters tall and had the build of a bear. Giovanni was considered tall for a woman, but when she bent down to light the fire for him, she appeared petite and slender.

“Thank you, Vladimir.” Giovanni smiled slightly, pulled the python from her handbag, and struck the guy’s jaw with her right elbow, followed by the heavy gun butt. It was clearly a Muay Thai technique. Then she switched to the “side-step half-standing technique” from Aikido, and pushed out with her left elbow, dissolving the attack in one blow!

The big guy was hit by this powerful combo and thrown several meters away, falling into the snow. He was still struggling to grab his weapon from his clothes, but Giovanni pounced like a cheetah, pressed his knee against his throat, and swung the python hard at his temple, knocking him unconscious.

Lu Mingfei was completely dumbfounded. This combo was steady, accurate, ruthless and left no room for error. It was no exaggeration to say that she was a martial arts master. Even if his mother was of mixed race and had a good physique, it would be difficult for her to achieve this without early training.

“There’s nothing strange about it. Your mother is also an S-class.”

“I’m going to stand up from the big guy,” Giovanni said coldly.
