Lu Mingfei handed over the lighter, but Ling didn’t bring the cigarette butt closer. She stood very close, staring coldly into Lu Mingfei’s eyes, making him feel a little uneasy.

“Faust, remember this: there is no God in this world. The only one who can save you is yourself. No one can force you to do what you don’t want to do.”

Her voice was extremely low and secretive, as if it were a huge secret that all the gods and spirits were trying to eavesdrop on, and she was only telling it to Lu Mingfei.

Through the sniper’s scope, the girl and boy stood face to face for a moment, then the girl buried her head in the boy’s chest, embraced briefly, and then separated again.

In fact, Zero simply lit the cigarette in her mouth with the lighter on Lu Mingfei’s chest. At that moment, Lu Mingfei smelled the cold fragrance on her hair, like honeysuckle or osmanthus.

Somewhat bewildered, he lit a cigarette for himself, and the two of them lowered their heads and took deep drags, each lost in their own thoughts. The next second, they both coughed heavily. They had both forgotten that they didn’t know how to smoke; the Russian smoking etiquette, however cool, was something they couldn’t imitate.

“What are you smoking for?! This is a gas station!” Lu Mingfei shouted, throwing his cigarette into the snow and stomping on it. “Let’s go! Let’s go back to sleep!” Zero quickly threw away her cigarette, and as she looked up, Lu Mingfei patted the top of her head. It wasn’t a gentle touch, but more like rubbing a kitten’s head.

“I will remembered what you said,” he said.

Actually, he had a lot to say, such as, “So this is what you’ve been thinking about all along? I was just talking nonsense when I was drunk,” or “I wasn’t trying to spy on anything, I was just curious, I’ve never doubted you,” or “Thank you, little girl, thank you for everything you’ve done for me… thank you for dancing with me.”

But he didn’t say anything, and grabbed Zero’s arm and ran back to the convenience store.

The red dot on the lighter went out, and Lancelot didn’t fire. He had a perfect shooting opportunity of more than ten seconds, but he gave it up.

He grabbed a handful of snow and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing it vigorously to numb himself with the cold. He rolled over and lay quietly in the snow, gazing at the dark sky. He hugged the sniper rifle tightly to his chest, as if he were holding a girl.

Before sunrise, the hovercraft set off again. At the gas station’s convenience store, they replenished their supplies, carrying so much vodka that they felt they could never finish it all.

Then Su Enxi threw a grenade and blew up the gas station she had built.

“I can’t let the gas station I built become a convenient place for pursuers, can I?” That’s how the proprietress explained it.

After last game, everyone seemed to get along better. Lu Mingfei was in charge of driving the whole way, and Su Enxi spent some time teaching Bunin how to play the Tiger Stick Chicken game. Then the two of them each grabbed a bottle of vodka and started playing. Soon after, Chu Zihang and Zero were also pulled into the game.

After traveling several kilometers upstream along the glacier, they discovered a bunker made of alloy steel. Inside, they found canisters of diesel fuel and supplies such as military-grade compressed biscuits, canned beef, and compressed vegetables. This was likely the landmark building Bunin had mentioned, but its level of luxury paled in comparison to the gas station built by SuEnxi.

“Your boss seems like a stingy bastard. He makes so much money and all he gives us is this junk.” Su Enxi took the opportunity to express her disdain for the “King of the World”.

“I am ashamed of him,” Bunin deeply agreed.

They continued along the glacier, and ten minutes after they left, Lancelot arrived on a snowmobile, rushed into the bunker, and tore open a compressed biscuit to eat. His supplies had long since run out, and while these guys were tending the gas stove to roast meat, he had to eat snow alone.

He was more disheveled and exhausted than before, emaciated with sunken cheeks. Judging by his health, he should have collapsed long ago. But something was supporting him from within, and his previously unfocused gaze became focused, like two faint, cold flames.

After eating and drinking his fill, he leaned back wearily onto a cot and set his wristwatch to chime. The snow had stopped; the hovercraft would leave clear tracks in the snow, and the snowmobile was faster. With an hour’s rest to replenish his energy, he could catch up with the others.

But as soon as he closed his eyes, he leaped up like a startled leopard. The Seven Deadly Sins were right beside him. He slapped the box and pulled out the roaring “Envy”.

No enemy had invaded the bunker; only the telephone in the corner was ringing and shaking slightly, as if saying, “Answer the phone, answer the phone.”

Lancelot stared coldly at the phone for a long time before finally picking up the receiver.

“Friend, you’ve gotten yourself into big trouble.” The man on the other end of the phone sighed. “You had the chance to kill your Chairman Lu in City 023, but you didn’t keep your promise.”

“I can’t kill him; he’s far stronger than me.”

“Stop lying, okay? You’re carrying the Seven Deadly Sins and bullets made from the Philosopher’s Stone, and you’ve already been enhanced. Even if none of that works, you could have detonated the reactor, you could have destroyed that hovercraft, but you did nothing and just watched it continue its journey.”

Lancelot was silent for a moment. “I don’t believe you. You said you would return Susie to me, but what you’ll give me is probably a clone, right?”

“Does being a clone really matter that much? I’ll give you back a girl, exactly like your fiancée in your memory. She will loves you, listens to you, and you’ll have coffee made by her every morning.” The man paused. “More importantly, she won’t remember Chu Zihang. She belongs to you alone.”

“So, she originally liked that boy, right?”

“I told you that’s not important. Are you going to dig up every single one of your fiancée’s ex-boyfriends? What’s important is living in the present, and that every morning when you wake up, she’s making you her cup of coffee.”

Lancelot fell silent again.

“Listen, my dear friend, I know you don’t trust me, but I offer better terms than those old fogies at Cassel College. All they’ve got for you is a medal; I’ve got you happiness.” The man began his lecturing again, but his magnetic voice was persuasive. “I’ll give you one more chance. Revise our contract. You retrieve something for me, bring it back, and your fiancée will pick you up at the airport. After you verified the item, you hand it over to me. How about it?”

What is it?
