Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 347: For Your Majesty (162)

Dragon Raja 5

“There’s still a chance. When they come at you, draw them behind me they can’t see the knife in my hand,” Chu Zihang said.

Even now, this high school student hasn’t given up and is still thinking about taking everyone down with him. He don’t know whether to describe him as foolish, naive, or fearless.

Lu Mingfei’s spirits lifted. Who cares! We’re already at our wits’ end, what’s the point of thinking about humanity! Faced with absolute power, 99,999,999 people on Earth knelt down, but you could still choose to be the one who didn’t kneel, and then you’d be biologically wiped out the next moment.

He was still alive and breathing, and Chu Zihang still had a knife in his hand; they still had one last chance to fight.

Lu Mingfei burst into laughter, his laughter growing louder and more manic until it eventually drowned out Christina and the children’s screams.

Everyone slowly turned around, a dozen pairs of golden compound eyes coldly staring at the man laughing maniacally. They all fell silent, except for Lu Mingfei, who continued to laugh. It was as if this was a particularly ironic comedy, and he was the only audience member.

“Is it that funny?” Little Bunin asked with a smile.

“That’s hilarious.” Lu Mingfei gasped, seemingly laughing so hard he could barely breathe. “I’m laughing at you bunch of country bumpkins. You’re just an S-class monster, yet you think you’re supreme, able to sit on equal footing with those at the top of the food chain. Have you ever seen a true supreme being? Have you ever seen the king of the dragon race? It destroys you and your family as easily as blowing out a candle. In the end, you’re still just food, you’re the ones who walked onto the dinner table.”

He deliberately spoke harshly to provoke Bunin’s anger, but he wasn’t just spouting nonsense.

He had certainly seen the Supreme Beings before; Constantine, Norton, Jormungandr, Fenrir, and even Herzog after his evolution were all beyond Christina’s reach. Even he himself, after transforming into a dragon, was no match for Hezrog.

He became increasingly convinced that Alexander Bunin was simply an insignificant figure in what he called the dark side of the world, and that his arrogance and self-satisfaction stemmed from his limited perspective.

As expected, Bunin showed anger, but then he laughed again. “That’s right, the Romanov family’s envoy certainly has the right to say that. That’s why we need families, we need powerful allies, and we are about to bestow this precious favor upon the Romanov family to show our sincerity in forming an alliance.”

Lu Mingfei felt a chill run down his spine. He had originally thought that Bunin would kill him in a fit of rage, but Bunin’s intention was to also turn him into Christina’s “sub-lineage”.

Little Bunin was a fanatic who believes in bloodlines. Once he senses Lu Mingfei’s bloodline, he will use him as experimental material. The worst outcome would be that he dies from a ruptured artery, just like that little girl. If he’s lucky, he’ll gain a powerful “family member”.

Lu Mingfei quickly calmed down. At this point, he had nothing to fear. Besides, Christina was a monster, and so was he. Their blood mingled; who knew who would prevail?

His laughter grew even more arrogant. “Then come on! Grant me your grace, my dear friend!” He suddenly stopped laughing. “Or, eat me for dinner if your daughter is hungry!”

He stared intently into Little Bunin’s eyes, and little Bunin returned the gaze coldly, like a constable and a notorious bandit in a chivalrous film, who, even when chased to the edge of a cliff, refused to let their momentum falter even slightly.

“Dear Christina, please bestow your grace upon them as well,” Little Bunin bent down to pick up the dagger from the ground, took Christina’s arm as if a father were sending his daughter to a wedding, “and see what the finest mixed-race will become under your baptism.”

Christina did not refuse; she stared coldly into Lu Mingfei’s eyes. Perhaps having obtained the Dragon Heart, she had severed ties with their previous friendship, or perhaps she perceived it as a blessing.

Lu Mingfei glanced quickly at Chu Zihang, then took a deep breath. His eyes were wide open, his face full of smiles, a silent mockery rather than an expression of anticipation for a baptism. He was doing everything he could to draw the attention of little Bunin and Christina to himself. The veins on the back of Chu Zihang’s hand throbbed; he was gathering his last remaining strength to break through that hard shell.

There was only one chance, or rather, only a fleeting moment. The target wasn’t Little Bunin, but Christina. The treasured sword in his hand was a masterpiece of the Snake Clan’s demon-slaying techniques, capable of piercing even the Dragon King’s heart. Little Bunin approached Christina, both smiling, their laughter growing louder and louder.

“Senior brother, I’m betting everything on you this time,” Lu Mingfei thought to himself.

Suddenly, little Bunin quickened his pace, taking the lead over Christina, and slapped Chu Zihang on the shoulder. Chu Zihang was startled; he had originally planned to wait for little Bunin and Christina to walk between him and Lu Mingfei so he could attack from behind.

Little Bunin raised his knife and brought it down, blood spurting out. He slit Chu Zihang’s throat.

“Enjoy it, my dear daughter, let this child who rides the flames be your dinner!” He said with a smile, still staring into Lu Mingfei’s eyes.

Lu Mingfei was stunned, watching helplessly as the gushing blood flowed down the transparent hard shell. Chu Zihang tried to break free at the last moment, but due to the sudden loss of blood, his all-out effort only caused him to tremble slightly.

“I…I fuck your mother! I fuck your mother Bunin! You madman! Come at me! I’m the damn monster! I’m the food you want! Let him go! Come at me!” Lu Mingfei roared hysterically.

He struggled desperately, even forgetting the wound on his chest. He used the dirtiest and most vicious words he had ever learned to curse and swear, wishing he could devour the smiling man alive, eat his flesh and drink his blood.

Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Why did he bring Chu Zihang to this godforsaken place? Was it because he couldn’t bear to abandon him? Or did he not want the final leg of his journey to be too lonely? He killed this kid who called him “senior brother,” his mother is still waiting for him at home, and he hasn’t even had a chance to find his way back to his life…

“How could I possibly hurt you so easily, Mr. Lu Mingfei? You are a very important person, and my job is to take you where you want to go,” Little Bunin said with a smile. “I don’t know who or what you are, but perhaps someone my former master specially looked after. You might be more important than Christina. there.” He took another step forward, embraced Lu Mingfei, and kissed him on the cheek, while smiling and saying, “What are you waiting for, Christina? Don’t you want his power?”
