Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 337: For Your Majesty (152)

Dragon Raja 5

“Hurry up, buddy! Don’t hesitate! That’s not a girl, it’s the Vampire Queen!” Finger in his pocket encouraged kept him. “Remember to save some of her blood, the chance to get the Golden Elixir is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!”

Just as he reached the middle of the pier, Lu Mingfei suddenly felt a sharp pain in his calf and involuntarily knelt down. He turned around and saw a small knife stuck in his calf, with Bunin lying on the ground, gripping the handle tightly.

“I will not allow… anyone to hurt… my daughter!” Bunin roared, pulling out a knife and viciously pouncing on Lu Mingfei, stabbing him repeatedly.

Chu Zihang was originally following behind with his knife, but his calves and abdomen were severely injured by Christina, and he could not move as well as Lu Mingfei, who was injured in the chest. He could only watch helplessly as the two blood-covered people wrestled together.

He wasn’t worried about Lu Mingfei. Even a severely injured, near-death hybrid shouldn’t be defeated by an ordinary human. It looked like Bunin Bear pounced on Lu Mingfei, but Lu Mingfei could easily push him away with a little effort.

Sure enough, after only a few scuffles, Lu Mingfei kicked the knife out of Bunin’s hand and used Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to lock the bear-like man in place. He also took a few stabs from Bunin, but the difference between knives is like heaven and earth; Bunin’s weapon was only suitable for sharpening pencils, so Lu Mingfei was indifferent to taking a few hits.

“Wake up! She’s not your daughter anymore!” Lu Mingfei forcibly lifted Bunin’s head, making him look at the cocoon hanging on the steel cable. It was soaked in a blood-red nutrient solution, dripping blood drop by drop. From its center, countless fine threads radiated outwards, connecting the remains of the hellhound and the clones. The structures of the remains melted and collapsed, turning into a dark red liquid, which was transported by the threads to the cocoon spun by Christina.

Together they form a vast ecosystem, but it’s not one of coexistence; rather, it’s one of predation. Finger was right; this was the vampire model, exactly the style of the mastermind behind it all. The VIPs who died on the pier were no different from those clones that turned into blood.

“If the serum works on someone else, your daughter will turn into nutrient solution too!” Lu Mingfei roared. “Do you want to see that happen?”

He turned Bunin’s head back to face the guests lying in pools of blood, “Look at your so-called friends! Will killing them cut this off? The same thing will continue, just like the show never ends!”

He abandoned Bunin and stumbled forward. A tremendous dizziness made his steps unsteady, and he wasn’t even sure if he could reach Christina’s cocoon.

The rumbling sound echoed in his mind; it was what he had said to Bunin: the show never ends… the show never ends… the show never ends!

He recalled the Kabuki performance he had seen in his illusion, as if fate was repeating itself, with one vibrant life after another being offered up on the altar, but the person presiding over the ritual never even appeared.

His heart had become calm and even numb along the way, but today he was furious. All his anger was directed at the person hiding behind the scenes who treated everyone as puppets, watching people kill each other for the petty benefits he offered.

Damn it! Absolutely despicable, so despicable that I want to live. The guy behind it all is still alive, how can he die?

“No, no! Please don’t!” Bunin crawled after him, his cries shrill and desperate.

He had already entered the “spider’s nest” territory. The gauze-like silk fluttered around him, carrying a strong corrosive effect. Even when it touched intact skin, it caused him to twitch in pain, let alone his wounds.

Their instinct is to seek out organic matter, secrete corrosive fluids, and absorb nutrients. Therefore, once they come into contact with a wound, they will burrow inside, like countless thin snakes. Fortunately, he was still carrying Chu Zihang’s Spider Cutter. This ancient alchemical blade vibrated and emitted a sharp screech. Lu Mingfei used it to cut through the web. The web melted as soon as it touched the blade, just like it had touched a branding iron.

He finally reached the bottom of the blood cocoon and looked up. Its surface was flowing with dark red fluorescence, like the sun in the apocalyptic sky, or like the huge heart of a monster.

The blood cocoon emitted gurgling sounds of flowing liquid and crackling sounds of bones popping; this wasn’t a ten-month pregnancy, but an extremely rapid development process.

Lu Mingfei wiped the sticky substance off the blade with the hem of his shirt, gripped it with both hands, and poured all his strength into it. He had no idea what would happen if he struck, so only he could do it, not Chu Zihang who had dragged his injured leg to catch up.

“Senior brother!” Chu Zihang suddenly shouted, “Look ahead!”

Lu Mingfei looked up in surprise, simultaneously drawing his sword to defend himself. He didn’t see an enemy, but rather a figure with both legs severed, crawling away rapidly. It was hard to believe that someone could crawl so fast using only their hands.

That was actually a clone of Auchinez. Bunin’s old-fashioned security system, though violent, was not very precise, and it was inevitable that some would slip through the net. Bunin was not the only one who survived being hit by several bullets from an AK rifle.

But considering Auchinez’s behavior before his death, Lu Mingfei immediately understood why he was the only one who survived.

He called on everyone to stand with him, behind the last batch of hellhounds, actually hoping that his companions would also become his blood shield.

Lu Mingfei had no choice but to put down the cocoon and chase after Auchinez. With the self-healing ability of hybrids, it wasn’t impossible for Auchinez, who had lost both legs, to crawl to inform the boss behind the scenes. However, Lu Mingfei absolutely could not allow the news of the successful super evolution to leave this air-raid shelter.

He gave up after chasing for a short distance, not wanting to waste time on that despicable clone; he had more important things to do. He picked up an automatic rifle from the ground; thanks to its plastic material, it hadn’t corroded.

After emptying the corrosive liquid from the barrel, Lu Mingfei swiftly chambered a round and fired two shots, shattering both of Auchinez’s elbows. The man screamed and collapsed, unable to move again.
Just as Lu Mingfei turned around to deal with the cocoon, he suddenly realized that Chu Zihang was already standing directly below it.

The boy calmly looked up at the cocoon, his grip on the knife just like Lu Mingfei’s a moment earlier, a dazzling flame rising from the hilt to the tip of the longsword.

“Get out of my way! That’s none of your business!” Lu Mingfei snapped.

He was actually lured away by a kid with the mentality of a fifteen-year-old. He knew very well what Chu Zihang wanted to do and would definitely not give him time to stop him.
