Dragon Raja 5

Lu Mingfei noticed that he had chosen the only spot not soaked in Catherine’s blood, so that all guests would have to step over it before leaving. He had actually fulfilled his request.

Only Sonia sat there quietly, looking down at the table. When Zero passed by her, she placed the comic she had just finished drawing in front of her without saying a word.

Lu Mingfei returned to the venue outside, his mind heavy with worry. Christina rushed up to him and pulled him to a corner. “What’s in the box?” she asked.

“Look for yourself.” Lu Mingfei glanced at Chu Zihang, who was standing by the window, coldly looking around. The suitcase was still strapped to his wrist.

“Your stubborn friend says he can only open the box if you give him permission,” Christina said irritably.

The box contained a glass jar, and inside the jar were giant leeches. Lu Mingfei compared their sizes.

Biological weapons? Worth tens of millions of dollars? Christina’s eyes widened.

Lu Mingfei was stunned for a moment, realizing that this young lady did not know that her father was the real buyer and had transferred a huge sum of money for the goods.

Having witnessed the situation unfold, he was eager to leave the venue as soon as possible and find a secluded place to study the leeches in the box. However, the wind and snow were particularly fierce tonight. Eager to leave, Auchinez had already pushed open the door of the venue. A blizzard swept in, pushing him back several steps. Bunin’s entourage immediately rushed up and closed the door again.

Lu Mingfei drew back the curtains and looked outside; everything was covered in snow. The snow had already buried the roads and the lower half of the building. His entourage had brought in snowplows, which, flashing their yellow lights, repeatedly rushed towards the snow walls, but it looked like it would take several more hours to clear the roads. Anna and Maxim, who had previously bid on the goods, were still in the venue, both choosing a corner spot. Bunin’s armed entourage formed a human wall around them, as did Auchinez.

“It’s not over yet,” Chu Zihang whispered, leaning closer to him. Lu Mingfei nodded; he too could feel the tense atmosphere in the room, as if he were surrounded by wolves.

A hungry wolf pack, with extremely limited food, might lose its reason and break the rules. Gregory might risk everything for the goods, and so might others. But this should have been within Bunin’s expectations, so VIPs entering City 023 were not allowed to have their own entourages; all services and security were provided by Bunin, except, of course, for the esteemed Romanov family. Therefore, Chu Zihang wouldn’t allow Christina to inspect the goods; he stood there with a menacing, ruthless air, ready to draw his knife at any moment.

Lu Mingfei looked around. Sonia, dressed in a red dress, had just come out of the basement and was crossing the venue, reaching out her hand to the nervous Auchinez.

She was stunningly beautiful throughout the journey, always radiant, but never before had she been so radiant, like a flame gently swaying.

Auchinez also stood up, stepped out of the human wall formed by his followers, and reached out his hand to Sonia.

They first held hands, then embraced tightly—a celebration among allies after victory. If Sonia and Valodya hadn’t offered their stakes, Auchinez wouldn’t have been able to bid on the last and most expensive shipment.

But the next moment, the pure silver paper cutter pierced Auchinez’s heart from behind. Sonia released the handle and coldly pushed him away.

Auchinez tried to say something, but only blood and foam came out of his mouth. Sonia pulled the box off Auchinez’s hand, and the glass jar worth billions of dollars flew out, with huge leeches wriggling in the nutrient solution.

This scene ignited the greed of almost present, and they all took a step forward in unison. But Sonia pulled a pistol from her handbag and fired a burst at the ceiling. The gunshots stopped in their tracks, but Sonia could only watch helplessly as the glass jar everyone hit the ground, cracked, and the nutrient solution leaked out.

Sonia immediately lowered the muzzle of her gun and aimed it at the glass jar, seemingly intending to destroy this priceless item.

The two best friends slumped to the ground, glaring fiercely at each other, their bodies soaked in their blood.

“You all saw it! She attacked me first! She attacked me first!” Auchinez roared.

Sonia couldn’t utter a word, for Auchinez had severed her throat with her first strike. Her injuries were far more severe than Auchinez’s, and she collapsed backward after only a few seconds.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye. Bunin rushed up and grabbed Sonia’s wrist, but shook his head regretfully.

Auchinez was also on the verge of death, but he stumbled toward the broken glass jar, picked up the pistol left by Sonia, and pointed it at everyone around him, and finally Bunin.

“That’s mine! That’s mine! I paid for it! You have a responsibility to protect me!” he roared, his voice as fierce as a demon.

Yes, as the host, it’s my responsibility to protect you. That’s yours. Bunin kicked the glass jar at Auchinez.

Auchinez took the jar, smashed it on the ground, and pulled out the leech, placing it in his throat. The enormous leech clung to Auchinez’s skin like an octopus. After doing this, Auchinez fell backward, unconscious.

Bunin waved his hand, and his attendants immediately carried away the bodies of Auchinez and Sonia on stretchers. As Auchinez was being carried onto the stretcher, the leeches were sucking his blood voraciously, and the large blood vessels under his skin were pulsating with the leeches’ sucking.

He was experiencing a rebirth, while Sonia was truly dead, as pale as paper, having written her story with blood.

Only she and Lu Mingfei saw Zero’s comic, which depicted a transformation of hell, with a demon with the face of Auchinez throwing Vishniak’s corpse into a pool of blood.

This bloody auction began with Vishniak’s death. Both he and Auchinez needed time, but he hadn’t raised enough money to survive. Under Auchinez’s persuasion—Auchinez always being the leader of the group, so gentle and patient—Vishniak, like a fragile child, ended his life, leaving the money to Sonia. But Auchinez took his card, hiding it in his pocket as a last resort. Zero’s final bid was merely a ploy to force Auchinez to produce that card.

Zero didn’t want to get involved in this feud, so she gave Sonia the opportunity. But Auchinez sensed Sonia’s intentions and deliberately took the fatal blow, because he still had the mysterious leech; as long as that thing was there, even death couldn’t take him. Bunin probably guessed what had happened, but according to the rules, Auchinez did the right thing; he was a victim of self-defense.
