Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 26: Public Enemy (26)

Dragon Raja 5

This is synchronized with the projection of the earth in the central control room. EVA monitors any dragon-related events around the world at any time and anywhere, and marks them with red dots of different brightness according to the severity of the events.

Suddenly, a dazzling red dot appeared in East Asia, and everyone’s eyes lit up in an instant.

East Asia, that is the area they are most concerned about right now.

“Have you tracked down Lu Mingfei and the others?” Beowulf asked in a low voice.

EVA appeared in the projected beam of light. “I can’t be sure yet, but I did track a strange signal that I can’t explain.”

“Where is the signal located?”

The map was enlarged layer by layer, and geographical details and roads appeared one after another, and the position of the red dot became more precise.

“On a highway in central North China, this signal is constantly moving at approximately 120 kilometers per hour. It’s speculated that the source is a vehicle.”

“You say this is an inexplicable signal?” Beowulf asked again.

“Judging from the band and frequency, the signal came from one of the academy’s trackers. However, I have records of all such trackers, and I can’t find any records of this particular tracker. In other words, it was a tracker manufactured by the academy, but not in my database.”

“What kind of tracker?” asked Mr. Turing.

“It’s a very compact tracker, about the size of a grain of rice. The most common use is to embed it in dentures or tooth repair materials,” EVA said. “The disadvantage of being so small is that its battery life is extremely limited, so it only sends out a signal once every two weeks, but its battery life is up to 20 years. I’ve lost the signal now, but I expect the signal source to be activated again in two weeks.”

Beowulf pondered for a moment. “Regardless of the source of the signal, if Lu Mingfei and his men were driving away and maintaining a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour, they should be right where the signal source is now.”

Mr. Turing shook his head. “But we’ve lost the signal again. We can’t pinpoint their exact location based on a single, momentary signal. They’re constantly moving.”

“At least we know where they were about two minutes ago. If we want to ensure the destruction of Lu Mingfei, we can call on the Gattuso family’s Sword of Scourge to attack,” EVA said. “Its orbital position is just right for attacking there.”

“Call the Sword of Scourge?” Mr. Turing exclaimed.

The Sword of Damocles, or the Sword of Damocles, was a space-based weapon developed at great expense by the Gattuso family. It was a satellite in low-Earth orbit, containing heavy tungsten rods. When the hatch opened and the rods released toward the ground, the Earth’s gravity would transformed these unassuming rods into weapons of mass destruction with a power comparable to a small nuclear bomb, capable of destroying even a small city.

During the Dragon Slaying War in Tokyo, it was this ultimate weapon that severely damaged Herzog, who had transformed into the White King. Afterwards, the Gattuso family reloaded the Sword of Scourge with tungsten rods and offered to loan it to the academy if needed.

“Predict their speed and direction of travel, and destroy all targets within a five-kilometer radius. This is the safest option in theory,” EVA said lightly.

“No, no! This is crazy! It’s crazy!” Mr. Turing immediately objected.

“As an artificial intelligence, I am responsible for providing the most efficient solution. Whether to take action depends on your judgment,” said EVA.

Mr. Turing stared silently at EVA in the beam of light. The girl spoke these words with a calm smile, her expression never changing from beginning to end. Of course, this smile might not be an expression of any emotion, but rather to comfort the elders present.

This is indeed the performance that artificial intelligence should have, but it is not very similar to the previous EVA.

The previous EVA looked even more indifferent, but Mr. Turing could still occasionally sense a certain human aura, even a certain girlish temperament.

It seems that when the three special commands about Lu Mingfei were deleted in the underlying command library, the humanity of EVA was also deleted.

“We won’t use weapons within Chinese territory. That would undoubtedly alert the military and cause unnecessary trouble, which we can’t handle,” Beowulf said slowly. “Even if we do use weapons, it shouldn’t be the Sword of Wrath. Our primary goal is capture, not destruction. Destruction is only a last resort. Let’s assume the signal source is indeed in Lu Mingfei’s car and deduce the direction they’re heading.”

“The calculations have been completed. We predict that they will enter the uninhabited area from the highway and try to leave China somewhere on the border. The most likely destination is Russia, followed by Mongolia and Kazakhstan via northern Xinjiang. I have marked the more accurate route.”

The predicted driving route immediately appeared on the map, and Beowulf squinted his eyes and looked at it for a long time.

“It’s time to release the hounds,” he ordered after a moment. “Make sure they have their teeth ready!”
