“Only in the eyes of a real woman can there be a real man!” When Finger said this, he was taking a selfie with his mobile phone, taking a picture of himself and the giant snake’s corpse.

Ignoring the foul smell of burning protein, Jiude Mai bent over to examine the snake’s corpse.

“It looks like an ordinary anaconda, but much larger in size.” Jiude Mai pondered, “These creatures should live in the Amazon River basin.”

“So if their nest is within the Arctic Circle, then it means there is a particularly warm place in the Arctic Circle, a warm place that violates the laws of nature,” Finger said casually.

“Sunset Land.” Jude Mai nodded. “That little girl wasn’t kidding. There really is a piece of land in the Arctic Circle where you can see the sunset. It’s warm year-round, and it’s also the habitat of these snakes. Time barely moves there, and there’s no birth, aging, sickness, or death. These anacondas shed their skin repeatedly, growing a little bigger with each molt, until they eventually become giants.”

“Someone broke into Sunset Land and alarmed them, and controlled them to hunt down the surviving intruders.”

“It’s possible that the intruders took something from Sunset Zone. Did they really throw the iron box the little girl mentioned, the one with blood oozing out of it, back into the sea?”

“Does it contain the head or heart of God?”

Jude Mai and Finger shrugged at each other. Originally, this trip to the Arctic wasn’t going to be easy either. They’d expected a fierce battle between spears and halberds and Leviathans, but now, with layers of fog shrouding the Arctic Circle, it had transformed from an action movie into a thriller.

A certain will, Jude Mai used very precise words, a certain omnipresent will is guiding them to the deepest part of the fog.

The elevator stopped at the warehouse level. The moment the elevator door opened, Caesar and Abbas were shocked by the brutal scene. Russian sailors were driving forklifts – there were many forklifts on the YAMAL for transporting cargo – to force the big snakes into a corner. The air was filled with the smell of gasoline. Someone must have knocked over barrels of gasoline.

The giant snakes hissed in pain. They desperately rammed their heads into the bulldozers and pounded the ground with their heavy tails, but they were unable to break through the human encirclement.

Since Homo sapiens left Africa, similar scenes have been repeated around the world. No matter how powerful the dominant species, they ultimately fell victim to human spears and arrows and became food. In a sense, humans are the most brutal animals in the world, the blood-feeders at the top of the food chain. The natural creatures that humans fear, such as the great white shark, are merely food for these blood-feeders who occasionally try to strike back.

The bulldozer pushed several giant snakes into a corner and immediately retreated. From all sides, dozens of AK47s fired volleys, scattering blood and flesh as they struck the snakes, forcing them to retreat or flee. A spark streaked through the darkness and landed among the snakes, setting them ablaze. The snakes struggled and tangled in agony. Caesar smelled the sickening odor of cooked meat, and Abbas frowned slightly.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you have arrived at the right time. Your goods can be used now.” The one who commanded this operation was actually the chef, the burly man who always carried a spoon in the restaurant to serve everyone braised beef with soybeans. He threw down his empty automatic rifle and walked over to greet Caesar and Abbas.

Caesar and Abbas were overthinking things. None of these crew members had good intentions and didn’t need their rescue. Even the chef could lead a small-scale battle—Caesar wasn’t sure if roasted snake ribs would be included in dinner that night—the giant snakes should regret choosing the wrong opponent.

After opening the warehouse and arming themselves, these Russians were a group of reapers on the battlefield. Before the YAMAL sank, they would launch several small-scale ground battles to wipe out the invaders.

Caesar walked towards the chef, ready to shake his hand, but suddenly his scalp tingled. He sensed some danger, but he had no time to discern where it was coming from. He had just released the “Sickle Weasel” because he felt this layer was already “clear.”

What saved him was his sense of smell. There was a fishy and moist smell in the wind blowing in his face, which was the smell of those giant snakes. However, the giant snakes in front of the warehouse door should have been burned into a pile of rotten mutated proteins.

He retreated like lightning, but the hidden opponent did not target him. Caesar watched helplessly as the huge black shadow fell from the sky and swallowed the chef in one bite.

An incredibly huge snake was hanging on the iron rack on the top of the cabin. The chef didn’t even have time to wail. People could only watch the snake’s throat roll a few times and swallow its prey. The bulge that slid from the throat to the stomach was still rising and falling.

All the AK47s fired into the air, sending tiny sparks of fire scattering from the snake. This snake’s size and scales were far superior to those previously burned to death. Its weight was also incredibly heavy, and when it fell from above, the entire cabin shook.

No one could help but tremble in front of this behemoth. Its body was as thick as a cement tanker, and its belly was even more swollen. It was so big that people even wondered whether it was a snake or an elongated whale.

It buried its head in its fat body for a moment before raising it. The power supply had not yet been restored, and there were only a few emergency lights in the cabin. People could only vaguely see the elephant-trunk-like black shadow slowly rising. It looked around, and its snake eyes radiated a red-gold light.

Then came the second and third… the fourth and fifth! Five pairs of golden pupils looked down at the terrified humans, five snake necks swayed and entangled, their hisses overlapping and piercing people’s eardrums.

The sailors silently made the sign of the cross on their chests, as if they saw the gates of hell opening. Most of them believed in Eastern Orthodoxy, and in Eastern Orthodox doctrine, this thing was the guard of the gates of hell.
