Dragon Raja 5

The sky outside the window was a deep blue, lightly clouded, with hazy golden sunlight filtering through behind the clouds. The city beyond was a gloomy gray, adorned with majestic churches and gilded domes. In the nearby square, soldiers in sharp uniforms patrolled. On one side stood the crimson palace wall, on the other the dazzling Basil’s Cathedral.

Even though Lu Mingfei wasn’t a well-informed person, he knew that it was the famous Red Square, where Lenin was buried. Autumn had already arrived in Moscow, and the air was bleak and chilly. Passersby on the street all had their collars turned up.

Three days had passed since their escape from Japan. Zero had crashed their plane midway between Japan and Taiwan. The wreckage sank into the same trench Lu Mingfei had once explored, never to be recovered. For the Gattuso family, Lu Mingfei’s fate remained a mystery.

The means of transport that replaced the plane turned out to be a submarine!

Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang stood side by side on the lifeboat, stunned as they watched the submarine with the Russian Pacific Fleet markings breaking through the water and rising. Zero remained expressionless until the submarine lowered the inflatable pontoon and the handsome officer in naval uniform came to the end of the pontoon to pick them up. Only then did Zero symbolically extend her hand and let the officer help him up, just to give him face.

Then they were sent to Moscow. Two 1960s-era Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow sedans picked them up at the military port and brought them all the way here. They and Zero rode in two separate cars. Whenever Lu Mingfei tried to ask a question, the driver would smile and tell him in fluent English that he didn’t understand English…

Lu Mingfei strolled into the corridor and saw Chu Zihang doing push-ups with his upper body naked, his muscles bulging and retracting. It was quite pleasing to the eyes of any man. Lu Mingfei simply leaned against the door frame next to him and brushed his teeth.

After watching for a while, he got bored. Chu Zihang practiced push-ups, then Russian push-ups, and then handstands. Although this guy still hasn’t recovered his memory, he has become more silent since Susie died, and is becoming more and more like the killer brother he used to be.

Lu Mingfei wandered downstairs. The building was huge, with paintings hanging everywhere and no one to be seen. He and Chu Zihang shared a large two-bedroom suite, one of at least four or five such suites in the building.

Could this be one of those hotels that was converted from an ancient building? Lu Mingfei had heard of this kind of luxury hotel. There were many of them in India. They were all mansions of local princes, and the room rates were more expensive than those of super five-star hotels.

The first floor was also empty, but not deserted. There were fireplaces everywhere, fresh fruits in the fruit bowls, artworks scattered everywhere were kept spotless, and there was a half-read Russian book with a gold bookmark on the table.

There was definitely a powerful team hidden in this building, which was composed of strong housekeepers, efficient cleaners and aesthetic gardeners. They were determined to maintain the interior style of the building and are always ready to serve the guests, but they will never appear in your sight.

Lu Mingfei passed through one door after another and was about to get lost in this layered house when an archway appeared in front of him. A girl was lying at the desk under the archway, writing something. Blue hydrangeas were blooming in the malachite vase on the table.

From the back, it can be seen that it is Zero, but her clothes were very different from when she was in college. She wears a blue-gray coat, a mink hat, and brown high-heeled boots. She was clearly a petite girl, but this dress makes her look slender, and she has the posture of a hostess.

Lu Mingfei sat down on the round stool beside the table. Zero knew he was coming, but she didn’t even raise her head and continued writing furiously.

“Won’t someone be watching you if you live in such a luxurious place?” Lu Mingfei couldn’t understand the Russian she wrote, and looked around. “What kind of place is this?”

“My home.”

“Your Home?” Lu Mingfei was quite surprised. “Is your family so rich?”

From the moment the submarine surfaced, he realized that this Russian girl was a person with connections, but many members of the secret party were people with connections. Someone who could mobilize a plane to pick you up didn’t necessarily have a plane at home.

Brothers with connections can also borrow a palace near Red Square to live in temporarily, but Zero made it clear that this is her home, so the old luxury cars, handsome driver team, and cleaning team that come with it are all at her service.

No wonder Lu Mingfei realized that the room was filled with a subtle girlish atmosphere when he stepped into it. It was not full of princess colors, but some clues could be seen from the embroidery patterns and the collection of artworks.

“You didn’t ask,” Zero said, “How can I tell you if you don’t ask me?”

Lu Mingfei was startled, realizing that in all the years he’d been with Zero, he’d never once been curious about her background. This girl, with her queenly demeanor, was the center of attention wherever she appeared, yet Lu Mingfei wasn’t interested.

He and Zero was “business partners” in a sense. Zero allows him to copy her homework, and he treats Zero to midnight snacks. For those boys who like Zero, Lu Mingfei was really annoying. He always invites Zero to have midnight snacks, and at the table he always complains that Zero eats too much and he is going to be broke.

Lu Mingfei also thought Zero was a beautiful lady, perhaps even more beautiful than Nuonuo, but he wasn’t looking for her. The familiarity between him and Zero seemed innate, as close as family, but they couldn’t clap.

“My last name is Romanov, Romanov of the Romanov dynasty. My lineage can be traced back to Elizabeth Petrovna, also known as Elizabeth I, daughter of Peter the Great and Catherine I.” Zero’s tone was like registering a household registration, but every name she mentioned once held the scepter of this ancient nation and shook the European continent. “Of course, my original surname wasn’t this. You should know that after the October Revolution, the entire family of Tsar Nicholas II was executed. After that, even the collateral descendants of the Romanovs dared not claim to have Tsarist blood. But after the collapse of the Soviet Union, those of us were allowed to resume the Romanov surname, and the state even returned some palaces to the descendants of the Romanov family, as long as you maintain them properly. I acquired this Elizabeth Palace because I have sufficient financial resources to prove that I can renovate the old palace and display it to visitors in my absence. But don’t worry, when I move in, the Elizabeth Palace will be closed to visitors.”
