“But how do we get them to run?” Isabel asked. “They’ve been trained exactly like us. They know how to hide.”

“They will move, because Lu Mingfei isn’t really afraid of us.” Lancelot paused, “but himself.”

“He’s afraid of himself?” Gonzalez was stunned.

“He is full of doubts about himself and he is afraid of the unknown self. In this mood, even a dragon king-level monster is not invincible!” When Lancelot said this, his sharp eyes finally revealed.

As a leader, his strengths are not limited to being calm and composed. He can be so calm precisely because he has the strength to match it.

The courtyard suddenly became quiet, with only the gurgling sound of the pot to be heard.

“Alert! Alert! An unauthorized target is approaching the safe house! The target is not detected to be carrying any weapons!” A voice came from the phone that Lancelot placed on the table.

Everyone tensed up simultaneously, their hands reaching for different parts of their bodies. They were fully armed, and the combined might of this small courtyard could destroy an elite field platoon in an instant.

Lancelot frowned slightly and picked up his phone to take a look. The image captured by the infrared camera outside the door had been transmitted to his phone. There was a lone person standing in front of the gate of the house.

The visitor was not sneaky, but came to visit openly and kept pressing the doorbell.

Lancelot signaled with his eyes, and Gonzalez stood up and went out to answer the door.

A moment later, Gonzales returned and handed a business card to Lancelot. Lancelot stared at the card for a long time and laughed silently.

“The prey is on the move.” He said this to Fujiwara Nobunosuke. “The Acting Director of the Japanese Executive Bureau, Mr. Saeki Ryuji, has arrived for a visit.”

In the bookstore on the corner, Lu Mingfei sat in the corner, drinking a cup of warm hot chocolate.

It was late at night, but this bookstore was open 24 hours a day, and there were still many people leaning against the bookshelves reading, but they were all immersed in their own books and no one noticed Lu Mingfei in the corner.

Lu Mingfei was analyzing the blueprints. He had been doing this for several days, but the mysterious port still seemed shrouded in thick fog.

This massive project, built in the polar regions at an astonishing cost, has been in operation for decades, yet in a country like the Soviet Union where the KGB was rampant, it has received almost no attention or questioning… There are too many doubts. It seems like a place of fate and curse, as if it exists in another dimension.

Lu Mingfei’s mind was full of these drawings. One night he even dreamed that he was walking in those long corridors, with rows of pipes around him. He was shivering with cold and tried to shout, but no one answered him.

In the dream, the port was as quiet as a tomb.

There were a few times when he almost couldn’t help but ask Nuonuo to analyze the maze with him. There was a vague sense of fear in analyzing the maze alone.

It was the same tonight. The more he analyzed and calculated, the more uneasy he felt. There was still no clear conclusion. If he didn’t go back, NuoNuo would become more suspicious. Lu Mingfei thought he should leave.

Just as he rolled up the drawings, the phone rang.

It was an old-fashioned telephone with a dial, located not far from him. Lu Mingfei initially thought it was just a decoration that the bookstore had bought from somewhere, but he didn’t expect it to be still in use.

The old-fashioned phone rang loudly, a bit harshly, which was rare for the quiet-loving Japanese. Lu Mingfei walked past the phone, backpack on his back.

He suddenly stopped because he noticed something very strange. In this bookstore, there were seven or eight other people reading besides him, but no one responded to the shrill ringing of the phone. The clerk on duty was also reading a book on the counter in front of the door, but had no intention of answering the phone.

It was a very strange feeling, as if Lu Mingfei was the only one in the entire bookstore who could hear the shrill ringing of the phone.

The phone kept ringing and the caller seemed very patient, or perhaps he was sure that someone would pick up the phone.

Lu Mingfei shuddered violently because he suddenly realized that the call was made to him. Although this idea was illogical, he believed it completely.

He took a few deep breaths, slowly reached out, pressed the phone, suppressed his trembling, answered the call, and put it to his ear.

He didn’t dare to speak or even breathe, just waited silently.

“Ming Fei, I know you are listening. I am your father.”

The crow sat opposite Lancelot, and skillfully prepared a piece of good meat for himself, coated it with egg liquid and swallowed it in one gulp, then drank a full glass of sake, and breathed a sigh of satisfaction to the sky.

His and Lancelot’s table was in the center of the courtyard. The pot was boiling, the aroma of wine and meat was fragrant, and the wind blew the leaves from the trees, making them spin and fall on their table.

Surrounding them were the commissioners, on full alert. While they weren’t holding weapons, their minds were never far from theirs. Taking advantage of the opportunity to serve food and pour wine, they quietly swapped positions, forming a complete encirclement around the crow’s.
