Dragon Raja 5

Before Su Enxi could speak, she suddenly heard a low growl approaching from afar.

She looked up and felt a chill run down her spine. A ferocious dog covered in scales was slowly approaching them, its golden pupils flickering.

Su Enxi immediately recognized it as a ferocious dog with dragon blood; whether it could even be called a canine was questionable. Its shoulder height was similar to Su Enxi’s, and its size and weight were comparable to a fully grown lioness. It could easily have overpowered Su Enxi and Auchinez. Both Su Enxi and Auchinez were seasoned veterans, relying on experience for their livelihood, but against such a bloodthirsty animal, experience was useless. Fortunately, it seemed to be severely injured; a huge gash in its abdomen revealed its internal organs, leaving a trail of dark red blood on the ground.

The fact that this fierce dog was still alive despite being injured to such an extent shows just how much the dragon blood has enhanced it.

Su Enxi had only a transparent plastic dagger in her hand, but she had no choice but to hold it tightly, as it was better than nothing.

“Tianyan” was running at high speed, and Su Enxi had a splitting headache. There were very few times when she had to use her brain so much. If this brainpower were invested on Wall Street, it would probably have earned her three or four hundred million.

But she still couldn’t think of a way to escape. There was nowhere to hide; there was only one entrance and exit, behind that dog.

“What the hell are you standing there for?” Auchinez snapped first. “Untie me!”

“Get lost! If I don’t untie you, I only have to deal with one dog; if I untie you, I have to deal with two!” Su Enxi was too lazy to pay him any attention.

Releasing Auchinez was useless. “At least untie my hands!” Auchinez was really anxious. “I can’t run away with my legs tied! I know how to deal with that dog!”

Su Enxi hesitated for two seconds before untying the leather straps binding his hands. She figured she might as well try anything; Auchinez probably knew more than she did.

Auchinez hopped and skipped into his own “molted” room. Su Enxi was stunned for a moment. Although the room had a door, it was so small that it couldn’t withstand even a scratch from the dog’s claws.

She ran inside after him, hoping that Auchinez had hidden weapons or something in the room. But Auchinez just stood nervously behind his shed hard shell, his hands resting on its shoulders.

The fierce dog followed them into the room. Su Enxi was disgusted by the overwhelming smell of blood. It was drooling and limping as it walked.

Auchinez pushed his “remains” towards the ferocious dog with all his might. To Su Enxi’s surprise, the dog did not dodge, but pounced on it and tore at it frantically. First, it bit off the dried leech, chewed it a few times and swallowed it. Then it tore at the hard shell. Unlike a snake’s shed skin, which is just a dry membrane, Auchinez’s shed shell weighed at least ten kilograms. The thick skin was squeezed out and bled as the dog tore at it.

The crisis was temporarily averted. Su Enxi and Auchinez, panting, hid behind the sofa, listening to the terrifying chewing sounds coming from the doorway.

“Anyone who’s ever been exposed to that stuff is like an addict, impossible to shake off!” Auchinez whispered. “Woman, I saved your life!”

“It would be very satisfied if it ate you, wouldn’t it?” Su Enxi sneered. “The serum you just ingested is the best supplement for it!”

Auchinez had nothing to say, because Su Enxi’s analysis was correct.

He understood the habits of this kind of ferocious dog. Having suffered such severe injuries, it, like the wounded Auchinez, desperately wanted to survive. The leeches and “remains” still contained trace amounts of serum, and the ferocious dog was extremely sensitive to that scent. Auchinez also carried that smell; Su Enxi had just beaten him so badly he hadn’t even badly had time to heal. That’s why he was in such a hurry. If the ferocious dog approached him and Su Enxi, smelled the scent, it would definitely attack him first; Su Enxi would only be fit to watch from the sidelines.

“Is the skin you shed enough for it to eat?” Su Enxi asked.

“Of course it’s not enough, you old hag. If such a small amount is enough to eat, I’d eat my own corpse, wouldn’t I?” Auchinez sighed.

“When are you planning to start feeding it its main food?” Su Enxi looked Auchinez up and down.

Auchinez then realized that he was also naked. Just minutes before, he had been staring at Su Enxi, who was only wearing a tight-fitting slip, and speaking lewdly in the tone of an old monster, trying to scare her. But now he realized that he was not facing a shy girl, but a mentally strong old woman. Compared to her, the way she looked at him seemed to have more of an appetite.

He bent his knees and arms to cover his private parts. “Got it, I’ll take care of it. Can I borrow your dagger? Also, you need to loosen my legs too.”

“No,” Su Enxi said slowly.

“Woman! This is between the two of us, I’ll handle it myself! You’re telling me I can’t?” Auchinez roared in fury.
“In a fight, I’m not confident I can beat you. I’ve let you go and given you my weapon. Even if you go and fight that dog to the death, and then come back and stab me, I’ll still be at a huge disadvantage.” Su Enxi shrugged. “It’s better to let that dog eat you first. Maybe it will be full after it’s eaten, and then I’ll be safe.”

“Old witch! Even if I survive fighting that thing, what fighting power will I have left?” In her anger, Auchinez voiced her thoughts about Su Enxi.

This was incredibly frustrating for him. As a resurrected old monster, he had lived through world wars and the Cold War, experienced moments of glory as well as KGB interrogations, and had had genuine or feigned relationships with countless innocent or beautiful women. He should have taken everything lightly and should have been the natural controller. Yet, in front of this girl in her twenties, he jumped around like a restless monkey, completely unable to escape her grasp.

“Don’t you have a map of this place?” Su Enxi smiled brightly, like a spring flower. “Since you still carry a map with you, it must be because the terrain is too complicated for you to remember. Then give the map to me for safekeeping. If you’re mean to me, I’ll destroy the map, and we’ll all die together. You’ve just been brought back from the dead, and haven’t even had a chance to grow up properly. It would be such a pity to perish together with an old witch like me.” Su Enxi sighed again, “And since you know so much, I won’t easily abandon you if I want to escape, right?”

Auchinez sneered. How could he possibly believe the old witch? Her candies must all be toads in disguise.

Su Enxi smiled and added, “Judging from the sound, it’s almost finished eating. Won’t the guests be angry if we don’t serve the main course after the appetizers are finished?”
