“They will automatically scan high-temperature and moving targets, but the three of us are exceptions. We all have chips for identification.” Bunin said coldly, pulling out an old Makarov pistol from under his coat and extinguishing the mining lamp.

Before the lights went out, the old man’s expression was cruel and chilling.

Lu Mingfei was almost certain that the Crow pistol belonged to Christina. He could even imagine that the girl was hanging upside down on the dome at that moment, like a rabbit in a trap.

The courage is commendable, but the IQ is touching.

After years of navigating the arms black market, Alexander Bunin was certainly no fool. He had already begun to murder. He extinguished his mining lamp to avoid becoming a target for intruders, and left the rest to the impenetrable security system.

Perhaps there was a pattern to the movement of these aiming beams? Could Christina dodge them with the same nimble dexterity as the clever thieves in the movies? After all, she was a slender girl, and she must have learned something at the FSB academy… Lu Mingfei tried to think of a way for Agent Christina to escape. He hadn’t reached any cooperation with her, but he didn’t want to watch that idiot get shot here.

Gunfire suddenly pierced the darkness, and Lu Mingfei instinctively leaned over Zero’s shoulder. The bullets flew over their heads, and Lu Mingfei could hear the whistling sound of the bullets.

The gunshots were just a few short bursts, and a moment later something fell into the deep trough below, bouncing and making a crisp “ding ding” sound.

“Did Her Royal Highness throw something out?” Bunin was calm.

“A coin. I wanted to test your security system. It seems impenetrable.” Zero said lightly.

“The security system of the Kremlin’s air-raid shelter is just like this.” Bunin said with pride.

Lu Mingfei felt a chill in his heart. He couldn’t even dodge a coin. It would be useless even if Christina had learned the Lingbo Weibu.

The two men slowly stood up. Zero dusted the hem of his coat, making a monotonous pat. Lu Mingfei’s heart trembled slightly. Zero’s action seemed to remind Christina not to risk challenging the security system. However, Lu Mingfei had not told Zero about Christina. It wasn’t that he had deliberately kept it a secret from Zero, but in Lu Mingfei’s eyes, it was simply an insignificant incident, and the rookie intelligence officer had not allowed Lu Mingfei to share her secret with anyone else.

Those automatic weapons were installed on the dome, so Christina on the dome was in the blind spot of the shooting, but she had no chance to step on the ground.

The three of them stood silently in the darkness, seconds ticking by. How long could one person hang from the dome using only their arms, even with the aid of some kind of tool?

The black snake showed no reaction at all, still dragging its chains along as it swam back and forth in the deep trough below. Bunin’s conclusion was correct: the creature was already dead, merely acting on instinct, a zombie-like being… Lu Mingfei suddenly realized something. In this vast space, only the black snake was moving, yet it hadn’t triggered the targeting beams, nor had the rattling chains. Even if Bunin had installed an identification chip on the black snake, he couldn’t possibly have attached the chains as well.

He lowered his head and looked downward. The only explanation was that the dark deep groove was not within the management range of the security system. Whatever the aiming beam scanned in the deep groove would be ignored.

This design is of course very reasonable, just like you wouldn’t jump into the lion and tiger mountain at the zoo to avoid a water gun. Even a zombie-like thing is still very scary. It can eat all the fish in the Yana River, so you can imagine its powerful predatory ability.

Lu Mingfei was still pondering when a clanging sound suddenly came from the deep trough, like something small and iron rolling. A moment later, a strong flash of light from the bottom up illuminated the entire air-raid shelter.

Flash bomb, Christina actually threw a flash bomb into the deep groove!     

The black snake in the deep trough roared, enraged by the flash. Despite having lost its wings and limbs, it still raised its head like a mighty dragon and exhaled dark blue breath into the air. The breath was so cold that the temperature in the shelter plummeted. The moisture in the air condensed into ice crystals and exploded, and it felt like a blizzard was brewing in the underground space. The ancient dragon’s majesty expanded like a high-pressure aura, and everyone felt their heartbeats were suppressed. Then the entire shelter shook, especially the concrete trestle they stood on, as if struck by an earthquake.
