Dragon Raja 5

Zero pondered for a long time, nodded, and turned back to her box.

Lu Mingfei was listening nearby and couldn’t help but sigh at Bunin’s cunningness. In name, he had found a bunch of people to divide the spoils, but in reality, he had just hung a bunch of human shields on the train.

I don’t know who started clapping first, but amidst the rhythmic applause, the traditional tap dance routine was performed again. The train, carrying laughter and joy, cut through the drizzling snow. Winter was approaching, and snow had begun to fall in southern Siberia.

    ***

Lancelot sat quietly under the eaves, snowflakes falling on his shoulders.

He was in central Siberia, at a rudimentary train station, so shabby was it that there was only a single red brick building to shelter the railroad workers from the elements. It couldn’t even be called a standard station, but rather a reluctant stop for residents of a nearby village, convenient for travel. It was possible that only a few trains would stop there in a single year.

The Russian branch director looked at the man curiously. This was the reinforcement the academy had to send. When Lancelot arrived, he was alone with a box containing the Seven Deadly Sins.

The Russian branch director had also heard of Lancelot’s name. Few people in the executive department hadn’t heard of him. He was supposed to be a gentle, elegant young man, graceful and unhurried, with a touch of French romance in his bones, who would be popular with girls.

But the man who came was gaunt and thin, his beard unshaved for a long time, his hair tangled and perpetually wet, hanging down over his eyes. He reeked heavily of cigarettes and alcohol, and when he was silent, he would smoke constantly. He always carried a thin can of liquor in the pocket of his leather jacket. He drank rapidly, often going into a small street shop to buy a bottle of any kind of liquor and chugging it, much like the Russian way. He seemed perpetually drunk, yet also like he could never get drunk. He always stared silently into the distance, never at anyone, sometimes at a light, sometimes at a meaningless, tattered street sign.

The academy’s decision to appoint such a figure to command the Russian branch should have been met with unanimous opposition, but everyone tacitly accepted Lancelot as their new temporary commander. He exuded a terrifying aura, especially intense when he gazed silently at you. The head of the Russian branch had heard a saying that the most formidable opponents on the battlefield weren’t those with fierce eyes and sturdy builds, like leopards, but rather those with empty, desolate eyes and the quiet, puppet-like demeanor. These individuals, their wills shattered and reassembled by the brutality of battle, resembled souls who had once passed through hell.

Lancelot conquered this group of unruly Russians with just his eyes.

“Are you sure they will pass through here?” asked the Russian branch director.

Lancelot handed the map to the branch chief. “The Trans-Siberian Railway doesn’t reach northern Siberia. They’ll turn onto the Baikal-Amur Railway near Chita or Lake Baikal. Further north, there are only a few military lines. This is a necessary stop.”

The head of the Russian branch took a look at the route marked with a red pen by Lancelot on the map, and it was indeed as Lancelot said.

“They will definitely go by train?” asked the Russian branch director.

“They have a lot of hostages. Those noble young men wouldn’t be willing to explore the snow by car. Managing such a large convoy is also difficult. Railway is the most convenient option.”

“All carriages are bulletproof. Our weapons may not be able to stop them.”

“Blow up the rails.”

The head of the Russian branch felt a slight chill in his heart.

Lancelot was like this all the way. He was not ferocious or aggressive. On the contrary, he answered all questions clearly and even gently and patiently.

But even when he said the words “blow up the railroad tracks” so calmly, the quiet ferocity in his voice made people shudder, as if it were the words of a thug who regarded human life as worthless.

“There are many innocent passengers on the train,” the Russian branch minister had to remind.

“I’m sorry, but they’ve been dragged into this.” Lancelot’s eyes wandered in the tangled snow. “Sacrificing some people is a necessary price.”

    ***

Lu Mingfei returned to his private room and fell headfirst onto the bed.

Tonight was another lively banquet with singing and dancing. Bunin had invited him and Chu Zihang. As he was drinking, he was dragged into the dancing crowd by the enthusiastic Sonya.

I have to say it’s fun to be with this group of young people. All worries can be temporarily put aside. They are young and energetic, with endless energy and no worries about tomorrow. Even a shy guy like Valodia can jump onto the dining table and dance when he’s drunk, not to mention Sonya, who throws her skirt high, showing off her long legs without reservation.

Lu Mingfei couldn’t help but envy them. Compared with them, he seemed to be worried.

If possible, he would really like to stay on the train longer, but after attaching the high-speed traction locomotive, their speed increased dramatically. Near Lake Baikal, they turned north to the Baikal-Amur Railway, speeding along at lightning speed. The further north they went, the lower the temperature became. The southern part of Lake Baikal was still sparkling, but the northern part was frozen. Going further north, there was only ice and snow.

Someone knocked on the door of the box. Lu Mingfei got up and opened the door without thinking. When he left the dining car, Chu Zihang was still being pulled by Sonya to dance. It must be Chu Zihang who came back.

But when he opened the door of the box, the first thing that wafted in was the strong and cold smell of perfume, and Lu Mingfei sobered up instantly!

It wasn’t the invigorating aroma that was so invigorating, but the sight of a girl in a low-cut dress leaning against the doorframe, smoking a cigarette. The lights in the hallway had been dimmed for the evening, but they were still bright enough to illuminate her translucent dress, revealing the exquisite curves of her figure, every beautifully shaped and taut curve. The impact of the scene was so overwhelming that Lu Mingfei instinctively wanted to close the door.

But the girl had already thought of Lu Mingfei’s panic when he saw her, and she pressed one hand on the door. Her wrist was slender, but her wrist strength was quite strong, and she was able to hold her own against Lu Mingfei.

“I have a few small questions for Mr. Lu Mingfei.” She stepped into the box with her long skirt lifted and approached step by step.

The girl lifted up her gauze skirt, kicked the door of the box from behind, and moved closer to Lu Mingfei.
