Dragon Raja 5

But the Hydra’s drag was immense. If it had remained submerged on the submarine’s surface, the resistance would have been minimal, and the Nautilus’s momentum would have been sufficient to lift it out of the mud. However, its massive belly sank into the mud, and its body expanded dramatically below its neck, becoming thicker than a whale, with a long, serpentine tail extending beyond. With its massive belly sunk into the mud, the Nautilus felt like it was dragging a heavy bag of mud and sand.

The speed of the mud and dust spread exceeded that of the Nautilus. From the perspective of the Nautilus’s camera, it looked like a huge wall reaching the sky swallowed it and Hydra together.

The strong light could not penetrate the turbid mud soup, and the screen was dim. Occasionally, when the beam of light could penetrate the muddy water, Hydra’s long neck swaying seductively and painfully.

“What other weapons are there on board?” Caesar yelled at the first mate.

“We’re diving too deep! No weapons can be fired at this depth!” The first mate also shouted in response.

A deafening roar echoed from the tail as rocks mixed in with the mud and dust slammed into the main propeller. Those massive blades, cast from an extremely tough copper alloy capable of slicing through a tuna without damage, were highly likely to break against rocks. Without the main propeller, relying solely on jet propulsion, they would have no chance of escaping this deep sea.

The first mate’s face was covered in cold sweat. He was still trying his best to control the submarine and raise its head, but the Nautilus was slowly sinking.

“We have no chance of returning safely,” the first mate looked up at Caesar and lowered his voice, “We only have one last option left.”

“What?”

“Detonate all the torpedoes inside the ship. We will be buried with Hydra.”

“We are being buried with Hydra, there is no need to do this, right?” Jiude Mai’s face was also pale.

“That would ensure the death of Hydra. The explosion would also cause some debris from the ship to float to the surface. If rescue efforts arrived, they would know the Nautilus had self-destructed. Otherwise, we would die quietly on the seabed, with no one even able to confirm our death. Our names would remain forever on the missing list.”

“I now believe that you are a graduate of Cassel Academy,” Caesar patted the first mate’s shoulder, “but my decision is to wait for rescue.”

“Humanity has not yet developed the equipment that can rescue us in the nearly 1,000-meter-deep sea.” The first mate smiled bleakly.

“Our rescue doesn’t necessarily need to be human,” Caesar said. “Turn on the active sonar! Maximum power!”

Since the release of the jamming mine, the Nautilus’s active sonar has been in a closed state. That powerful device can emit clustered high-frequency sound waves and explore the surrounding waters through echolocation, but once it is turned on, it will expose its position to all surrounding ships.

“Boss, are you counting on that guy?” Finger seemed to understand something. “He feels even less reliable than me.”

“Turn on active sonar and transmit at maximum power,” the first mate ordered.

Caesar closed his eyes, but the domain of “Sickle Weasel” expanded to the maximum. The sea water could not stop the white monsters living deep in his mind, and they scattered in the vast deep sea.

Clustered sound waves raced back and forth between the seafloor and the surface ice, reflecting and scattering. When they struck the ice, they sounded like shattering glass. When they collided with the soft mud, they rang like a loose drum. Passing through dense schools of fish, the sound waves suddenly seemed to transform into dense bubbles, breaking as they rose. Passing through areas of varying water temperature, they arced like rainbows. These fragments of sound were captured by the kamaweed and brought back to Caesar, where they echoed in his mind like ethereal music.

At the same time, he had to endure the huge noise, the violent heartbeat of Hydra, the high-frequency operation of the steam turbine, and the strange sound of the bending and deformation of the Nautilus’s skeleton. This sound was terrifying, and the submarine seemed to be falling apart at any time.

But what he really expected was that majestic singing voice, desolate, quiet and vast, like an eternal drum, or the whisper of God beyond the world.

When it comes, it will be as majestic and swift as thunder and lightning, smashing everything and sweeping away everything!

More and more screens went black because the underwater cameras were stuck in the mud layer. The head of the Nautilus had sunk, and the first mate lowered the thrust to 30%. In this case, the higher the thrust, the more trouble there would be, and they would dive deep into the mud layer.

Half of the ship’s hull was already sunk in the mud, but Hydra was still frantically climbing upwards. It wanted to climb onto the ship’s back and use it as a stepping stone to reach the surface.

The first mate looked at Caesar. This was their last chance, a chance to die with the enemy.

“Here it comes…” Caesar said softly.

“Coming.” This time his tone was much more confident.

“Here it comes!” Caesar opened his eyes.

He rarely says the same thing three times. For someone like him who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, there were so many people waiting to serve him. Even if he speaks softly, there will be people running to help him get things done. Why does he need to repeat himself?

But when he said it for the third time, the excitement in his tone was like the remnants of the soldiers on the beach of Dunkirk seeing the fleet emerging on the sea surface, full of joy of escaping death, as well as respect and admiration!

He looked up, his eyes burning as if he could see through the hull.

“All underwater cameras point upwards!” yelled the first mate.

All the spotlights and cameras were pointed at the sea. The stage was set, waiting for the superstar to appear. But all they saw was muddy water, in which seemed to be thousands of black snakes swaying. These were the shadows cast by the Hydra’s long neck blocking the light.

Everyone’s confidence was quietly collapsing. They didn’t have much time left. The first mate was signaling with his eyes to the weapons officer to make final preparations. Only Caesar was calm like a believer waiting for his God to come.

The white shadow tore through the darkness like lightning. The giant beast dived vertically, passed through the mud and water layer with the momentum of a thousand troops charging into a battle array, bit Hydra’s neck, and dragged it into the air without stopping.
