Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 189: For Your Majesty (4)

Dragon Raja 5

Abbas’s destination was completely incomprehensible, as if he had no destination at all. His behavior was like that of a ghost who had died on this ship many years ago and was always searching for a way back to his cabin.

Not just today, Abbas has been doing this strange thing. In the dead of night – although there is no absolute distinction between day and night in the Arctic Circle, there are still clocks on the ship to help everyone keep to a regular schedule – he haunts different cabins of the YAMAL like a ghost.

This behavior pattern was very similar to that of cats. Someone once attached tracking devices to all the cats in a small town and was surprised to find that almost all the cats that were allowed to roam freely—their owners had specially left small doors in the walls for them to enter and exit—would quietly leave their homes in the middle of the night and wander around the town for hours, patrolling their vast, custom-defined territories. One adorable kitten even walked 30 miles each night to rub against a tree on a nearby hilltop, leaving its scent and declaring its dominance.

But Abbas is obviously not a house cat. He is a man recognized as a tiger by the entire Cassel Academy. Why is he wandering around in the middle of the night?

Caesar initially suspected that he was trying to memorize the terrain on the ship. If you are sure that you will fight the enemy on a certain battlefield, then memorizing every detail of the terrain in advance is crucial. The ship has hundreds of cabins and the terrain is as complicated as a maze.

But on second thought, it still didn’t make sense. Abbas never went to those cabins with people in them, such as the engine room and the nuclear reactor. These cabins were far more important than the casino and guest room areas where he often wandered.

Moreover, the cabin distribution map was hung in Rebalco’s captain’s room. Abbas only needed to secretly take a photo when he went to find Rebalco. He didn’t have to measure every inch of space on the ship with his own feet.

Today was no different, and he didn’t stop wandering until he entered a cabin directly above Caesar’s. Caesar sat in the smoking room for a full half hour, and his footsteps were no longer heard, but there was no doubt that Abbas was staying in that cabin, because he could still hear his strong heartbeat.

Anxiety gradually accumulated, and when Caesar could no longer bear it, he stood up and left the smoking room, silently but quickly going to the upper cabin. Abbas’s heartbeat came from the end of the corridor, where there was a heavy cabin door.

Caesar grasped the “Dictato” in the scabbard at his waist, walked slowly forward, and pushed the door open.

Caesar was stunned. Behind the cabin door was a vast sunroom with a curved glass dome. It might have once been a place for guests to have afternoon tea, but now the seats had been removed, leaving only the off-white marble floor. Despite sailing in an ice storm, the sunroom was still much brighter than most cabins, almost dazzling.

Abbas looked a bit panicked when he saw Caesar come in. It wasn’t anything else, but he had nowhere to hide the bag of cheese balls in his hand. This guy was sitting alone on the floor of the sun room, listening to music with headphones on, and popping cheese balls into his mouth one by one – a small snack made of cheese and breadcrumbs.

The two of them looked at each other, staring at each other.

“Can I have some?” Caesar said.

He actually doesn’t like “cheap snacks” like cheese balls, but he can’t just sit there and watch, someone has to break the deadlock first.

Abbas was stunned for a moment, then took off his headphones and hung them around his neck.

“Cheese ball, can I have some?” Caesar had no choice but to walk forward and repeat it.

Abbas had no reason to refuse, so he handed the remaining half bag of cheese balls to Caesar. Caesar sat on the ground beside him, took out a cheese ball, threw it into the air and caught it with his mouth. There were a few cheese balls scattered on the ground around him. I guess Abbas had eaten it this way before he came in.

A hybrid with an A+ bloodline rating can even dodge bullets by prediction, but cannot catch a cheese ball. You can imagine how relaxed this guy is when he is alone.

Caesar suddenly understood the ghostly behavior of this guy. He was just wandering around aimlessly.

He was wearing headphones, listening to music. Those headphones were high-fidelity and would not leak any sound. Caesar did not dare to get too close, so he could not hear it if he released the “Sickle Weasel”. This explained why he always passed by the kitchen. He liked to eat snacks while listening to music.

From this, we can infer that this guy might have hidden cheese balls or gummy bears behind his cushion when he was meditating in the past.

Two men chewing cheese balls sat cross-legged side by side, looking out the window. The wind and snow were howling like hell, and occasionally there was a whirlwind blowing snowflakes past, like a snow dragon dancing gracefully.

“What song are you listening to?” Caesar asked.

Abbas took off his headphones and handed them to him.

The singer’s voice was a little hoarse, but the song was ethereal and ethereal, like the wind blowing across the fields. Caesar had some knowledge of pop music, but he had never heard of this singer’s work, and he didn’t understand it. The singer used some very niche language.

“An independent musician who writes in Gaelic, and his albums don’t sell very well.” Abbas saw Caesar’s confusion.

“What’s that?”

“Dear wanderer, if you reach Sparta, tell my dear wife if she is still waiting for me. Tell her that we died here in battle, carrying the love letter she gave me. Dear wanderer, if you reach Sparta, tell my dear wife if she no longer waits for me. Tell her that I happily traveled far away, throwing away the love letter she gave me.” Abbas helped Caesar translate this into English. The song really just consists of these two lines, sung over and over again.

“Like the words written on some memorial tablet.”

“It’s written in the voice of a Spartan warrior. A wandering sorcerer passes by Thermopylae and encounters a weathered skeleton. The sorcerer summons him from the pile of bones, and he sings this song to the sorcerer.”

“You’re the kind of person who actually listens to music.”

“When I was little, there was a small band in the orphanage and I was the drummer. My idol at the time was Ringo Starr.”

“The drummer of the Beatles? Most people would prefer John Lennon.”

“I can’t actually sing, and I’m not very good at playing instruments, so if I wanted to be in a band, I could only play drums, like Ringo Starr.”

“I formed a band before, but it broke up.”

“I heard that except for you, they were all girls, and they broke up because of you.”

“You know all this?” Caesar was a little embarrassed.

That electronic music band was the predecessor of the student union dance troupe. As Abbas said, except for Caesar, the rest were girls.
