Dragon Raja 5

This is an incredibly sophisticated technology, encompassing genetics, medicine, chemistry, and alchemy. Some of it, Lu Mingfei could only superficially comprehend, while others were practically incomprehensible to him. This technology transforms “volunteers”—dragon slayers whose will has been gradually eroded by dragon blood and whose will has been lost—into instruments of war. While these monsters are essentially dead, their hearts still beat vigorously, their combat power was even greater than in life. This technology dates back to the Dark Ages, a time of intense dragon resurgence. Driven to despair, the secret party resurrected this dark technology from ancient texts, using humans as weapons, essentially creating their own controllable Deadpools, finally striking back.

Because Immortal technology has had a certain “unclean” attribute since its birth, the academy has always avoided talking about it and sealed the last batch of Immortals for many years.

The more Lu Mingfei read, the more frightened he became. Judging from this document, those immortals were basically impossible to kill.

Like Lu Mingfei, who had transformed into a dragon, they possessed a remarkable ability to recover, even continuing to function despite having their hearts pierced. The brain was more important and fragile than the heart, but even partial brain damage didn’t affect these individuals’ movements. Their thinking abilities had already largely declined, making their brains redundant.

Of course, burning their brains with fire seems to be able to kill them, but considering the hardness of their skulls, which are almost as strong as titanium-magnesium alloy, this tactic can only remain at the stage of thinking.

Although they were just like the zombies in the movies, they could use their own words, and they were very high-level words. Back then, Chu Zihang was closely monitored by the academy because of the high-risk “Jun Yan” word spirit, fearing he would lose control. However, one of these monsters could use Jun Yan, and it was that guy who turned the bottom floor of the ship into a steelmaking furnace.

In their lifetime, strict doctrines were implanted in their deep wills, preventing them from attacking without restraint, so they were partially controllable. But as their blood temperature grew higher and higher, and their dragon blood boiled, their desire to kill overwhelmed the doctrines in their deep wills, and they became uncontrollable, even killing each other.

Lu Mingfei suddenly realized that the problem lay with him. The people who had hunted them had originally placed the trap in the cold storage out of good intentions. The monsters might have been contained in the cold storage, but Lu Mingfei had lost his temper and blown it up.

Lu Mingfei raised his head with a heavy heart, and then he noticed that Chu Zihang had also tilted his head to look. Chu Zihang’s face was pale, probably frightened by the X-ray scans of the monsters. Various mutations were clearly visible, as if the demons from hell were being pulled out and dissected one by one.

Lu Mingfei pushed his head away. Although he still habitually called Chu Zihang “senior brother”, after a long time of getting along in this way, he would also feel that Chu Zihang was a child and these things were not suitable for children.

He wanted to take the information to Nuonuo to see, but just as he was about to move, Nuonuo suddenly gave him a sharp look and gestured to stop him from making any sound.

A few seconds later, heavy footsteps echoed overhead, along with a harsh scraping sound, like something sharp scratching the ground. Lu Mingfei thought for a moment and realized it was an Immortal dragging his weapon along. The distance between the Immortal and them was actually quite close, though there was a steel plate between them, one above and one below.

The Immortal’s footsteps suddenly stopped, as if sensing something! The three men in the cabin tensed, gripping their weapons tightly but daring not to utter a single sound. With the Immortal’s abilities, breaking through that layer of steel would be a snap. However, the Immortal was once human, and their behavior still carried traces of humanity, and humans rarely paid attention to vertical space.

The Immortal began to walk again, his pace noticeably increasing, but the footsteps remained overhead. Lu Mingfei thought for a moment and understood: the Immortal was searching, so he was circling in the limited space. They had indeed been discovered, but how? His heart was about to leap into his throat.

He was stunned for a moment, then looked down at his chest. He understood. The document stated that the Immortals’ five senses were extremely sharp, and their heartbeats could be heard by the Immortals!

It was a sound that couldn’t be concealed. They couldn’t even breathe, but they couldn’t lose their heartbeat. The Immortal above them could descend at any moment. Once the first Immortal discovered this hidden chamber, more would flock to it. Unless Lu Ming transformed into a dragon, they had no chance of success.

Lu Mingfei struggled to get up. He had to leave these two people, otherwise they would be in trouble. But Nuonuo got up faster than him. Nuonuo had a murderous look on his face. He half-knelt on the ground and pulled out a pistol from his tactical backpack.

This situation is like a primitive man’s cave is about to be discovered by wild beasts, so there must be a brave victim who rushes out and roars loudly to lure the wild beasts away.

Lu Mingfei grabbed Nuonuo’s wrist, and Nuonuo flew into a rage, trying to shake off this annoying guy. Neither of them dared to make a sound, but they half-knelt, half-crouched, pulling and tugging. The footsteps above them grew more frantic, and the Immortal had clearly heard more noises.

Nuonuo and Lu Mingfei suddenly stopped moving again, because they both felt something was wrong at the same time. They turned their heads in the same direction and found that Chu Zihang was standing outside the cabin door without them knowing.
