Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 125: Thunder and the Watcher (35)

Dragon Raja 5

The only problem is that it’s less than 1.5 meters high, so you can’t stand up straight, you can only squat or sit. But it’s a rare hiding place.

The monsters weren’t acting in unison; they scattered and roamed in different areas. They’d encountered several of them before on their way here. Their strength was completely different. Perhaps only Lu Mingfei, transformed into a dragon, could be their match. But if he transformed again, there would likely be an even more terrifying monster on the ship. So they shot at them from a distance and then turned and fled.

Everyone had several wounds on their backs. Nuonuo’s was particularly badly injured, but none of the fatal wounds she’d sustained before. Chu Zihang was the cleanest of the three. Nuonuo treated him like a child, always letting him go first when encountering monsters. If the killer hadn’t rushed forward to help Nuonuo block a few attacks, he might have been unscathed.

However, this hiding place was unlikely to be used for long, as some of the monsters seem to have unusually sensitive hearing and sense of smell, and they may appear at any time.

Nuonuo suddenly grabbed Lu Mingfei’s collar fiercely and growled, “Just leave! Why are you back?”

    ***

Lu Mingfei remained silent.

He wasn’t overwhelmed with emotions, but rather he had a hard time expressing them. He hadn’t come back because he couldn’t let go of anything. If he had let his inner laziness take over, he would have gone wherever Nuonuo went, wandering until the day he was caught, and that would have been the best way to enjoy life. But he was no longer the Lu Mingfei of the past, and once he’d made a decision, he wouldn’t change it.

But who could have expected something unexpected to happen?

Half an hour ago, he was listening to music and thinking about his worries. A myriad of worries were lingering in his mind when Finger suddenly screamed, “Stop pretending! Look at what’s going on! This broken boat is leaking!”

He was startled to find that the bottom of the lifeboat was already filled with water to the extent of 20 centimeters. After careful inspection, he found that the seam of the lifeboat had been gouged, a huge hole, but it happened to be blocked by a pile of debris. Otherwise, the lifeboat would have sunk into the sea before it could float half a kilometer.

He was really a little panicked at that time. Looking around, he saw the pitch-black sea. He cried out to the sky and the earth, but no one answered him. This guy Finger looked like a mobile phone but it didn’t have the function of making calls.

He cursed the Ukrainians in his heart for being unreliable and that the lifeboats were all broken. Fortunately, they were not far from the shore. If they had encountered an accident in the deep ocean, wouldn’t everyone be finished?

He was still at least three or four kilometers from the coastline. The lifeboat must have sunk before it reached land. He had no choice but to paddle hard, sweating profusely, before finally seeing a light ahead. Just as he was feeling elated, he suddenly saw a huge ship emerge from the thick sea fog. The ship’s name was written in Ukrainian on the bow. It was the ship he had just left.

Lu Mingfei then realized a serious problem. In his panic, he had rowed in the wrong direction… But he couldn’t really be blamed. Rowing a small boat on the vast ocean, it was difficult to guarantee that the bow would always point in the same direction. He had no sailing experience, so in this case, he should have let Finger drive the ship.

But then he realized something was wrong. With the speed of that junk ship, he couldn’t possibly catch up with it in his small boat. The only explanation was that the ship hadn’t sailed as planned and had stopped here.

Lu Mingfei jumped into the sea and swam desperately towards the human trafficking boat.

Nuonuo grabbed Lu Mingfei’s collar viciously and pushed him against the bulkhead, her eyes as fierce as a lioness.

Lu Mingfei had never been pushed against a wall before, and he hadn’t expected this milestone to come so suddenly, and it was performed by the girl he’d been dreaming of. His heartbeat raced, like a frantic drummer pounding away, and for a moment, he even forgot about his broken thighbone. He’d gotten used to injuries during this time, and his pain tolerance had skyrocketed.

He just couldn’t quite understand the look in Nono’s eyes. Deep in those dark red eyes, there was a hint of confusion, and confusion was an expression that rarely appeared on Nono’s face.

After a long moment, Nuonuo loosened her grip and slowly stepped back, falling to the ground. Her eyes gradually dimmed, and the fierceness, anger, and vague confusion all vanished, like a gas lamp being extinguished.

Nuonuo hugged her legs tightly and slowly placed her forehead on her knees.

She had a letter in her pocket, the same letter that Lu Mingfei had left on the table when he left. It was a long, meaningless half-page of rambling. She should have torn it up, but she took a step before leaving the cabin, thought about it, and put the letter in her pocket.

At the end of the letter, Lu Mingfei said, “Take care of yourself and help me take care of senior brother. I’m going to find my parents.” When Nuonuo read this, he slammed the letter on the table and blurted out the word “fuck”.

In Chu Zihang’s eyes, she was furious, but she actually wanted to curse to suppress the sudden bitterness in her chest.
