Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 40: Old Friend (9)

Dragon Raja 5

A car horn blared from downstairs. Japanese people are very afraid of disturbing others, so few people on the street would honk so loudly. Lu Mingfei looked down and saw a man in a black windbreaker and sunglasses leaning against a bright red sports car. He was spitting out a cigarette butt and waving his hand to greet him.

Lu Mingfei’s pupils contracted slightly, every muscle and nerve was silently tensed, and his whole body was like a drawn bow.

The person downstairs was Crow, Yuan Zhisheng’s former follower. It was said that he was now a well-known figure in the Snake Eight Clan. The person Lu Mingfei wanted to find most in Tokyo was Crow, but he didn’t dare call. If he had only one friend left in the Snake Eight Clan, it would be Crow.

Before he found the crow, the crow found him first.

“Long time no see, want to chat?” Crow slowly opened his collar. “I don’t have any weapons, not even a pair of nail clippers.”

Lu Mingfei was silent for a long time and nodded. Crow did not come alone, although the whole street looked empty.

    ***

Fifteen minutes ago, when Nuonuo and Chu Zihang were still recording the video, a big red sports car stopped at the door of the Internet cafe.

Crow didn’t get out of the car, but lit a cigarette.

The Internet cafe owner came out, bowed deeply to Crow, and without saying anything, turned and walked to the end of the street. Following him were all the waiters in the store.

The owner of the takoyaki shop, open until four in the morning, had been furiously preparing takoyaki when he suddenly lost his smile, bowed to the crow from a distance, and turned off the stove. The waiter and the few customers who had been enjoying their takoyaki followed him to the end of the alley.

Izakayas, convenience stores, pachinko parlors… these shops that do night business stopped operating without hesitation. Within a few minutes, the entire street was cleared, leaving only the store signs still flashing, and the faint, melodious old songs coming from somewhere.

To the sound of the song, men in black windbreakers entered the venue. When the hems of their coats were blown by the wind, they revealed the brilliant linings like ukiyo-e paintings. They efficiently and silently occupied advantageous positions near the internet cafe, hiding in the shadows, their long swords flashing a cold light.

Crow finished his cigarette, and the arrangements were complete. He nodded in satisfaction. This was the new Executive Bureau, a team he personally led, and its efficiency was no less than that of the one Yuan Zhisheng had once led.

    ***

A moment later, Crow appeared in front of Lu Mingfei. The two of them stared at each other from a distance in the long corridor.

Nuonuo stood behind Lu Mingfei, leaning against the wall, holding a submachine gun in her hand. Chu Zihang had been awakened and was hiding in the private room on Lu Mingfei’s left, peeking out with the sliding door open a crack.

During the time Crow had been upstairs, they had already checked all the surrounding private rooms; they were all empty. No wonder they rarely saw other customers. It seemed the entire internet cafe was a trap, and the hunters were patiently waiting to reel in the net.

“Is this the friend you were talking about?” Nuonuo’s tone was teasing.

Crow looked at Nuonuo seriously for a few times and bowed slightly, “Saeki Ryuji, the current acting director of the Japanese Executive Bureau, once fought side by side with Lu Jun.”

When he turned to look at Lu Mingfei, his attitude was not so good, “You actually came to meet me with a knife.”

Lu Mingfei held a short arc knife in his hand. Although he did not show an aggressive posture, his attitude was very obvious.

“You’ve deployed at least fifty people near this building, all elite members of the Japanese Executive Bureau. You’re descendants of the White King, so I can’t let your guard down.” Lu Mingfei paused for a moment, listening intently, looking up as if his gaze could penetrate the roof. “Oh, and there’s a helicopter. I think you’ve deployed snipers on it, right? There aren’t many tall buildings nearby, so snipers don’t have good positions. But using a helicopter is different; there’s almost no blind spot.”

His hearing wasn’t as good as Caesar’s after he’d unleashed the Kamaitachi, but if he listened carefully, he could pick up on everything within a 500-meter radius. It was utterly silent, save for the wind, which came from directly above the building, clearly the rotors of a helicopter.

“You weren’t that powerful before.” Crow nodded. “You’re right. This time, the team dispatched is the newly formed Crane Group of the Executive Bureau. They’ve recruited many tough guys from the original Ghost Group. Now that you’re a true S-rank, we’ll have to be extremely vigilant if we want to catch you.”

“So we are no longer friends?” Lu Mingfei asked in a low voice.

Although it was obvious, he still wanted an answer.

“Are you asking about you and me, or you and the Eight Clans of Sheqi?” Crow asked back.

Lu Mingfei frowned, somewhat puzzled by this question.

“You and the Sheqi Eight Clans, of course not. The Sheqi Eight Clans are a branch of the Secret Party. You are the enemy of the Secret Party, so naturally you are the enemy of the Sheqi Eight Clans. But you and I are of course friends, so the one who leads the team to capture you is me, not anyone else.” said the Crow.
