Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 37: Old Friend (6)

Dragon Raja 5

Lu Mingfei, carrying two large bags of food, walked through a long corridor lined with sliding doors. He stopped in front of a door near the end of the corridor, glanced back and forth to make sure no one was following him, then opened the door and sat down on the ground.

Actually, there was no need to be so cautious. They hadn’t encountered a single customer since they had checked into the internet cafe. Occasionally, a waiter would come to collect the trash. If they didn’t want him to clean the room, they could just open the door a little and give him the trash.

This Internet cafe is located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. It is also a district of Tokyo, but it cannot be compared with super prosperous places like Chiyoda Ward and Minato Ward. There was not many tourists and there was not many skyscrapers.

They chose to stay here, and in an internet cafe, to conceal their tracks. A large portion of the cash in the airdrop box was still unspent. They could afford to stay in a luxury hotel, but there would undoubtedly be spies from the Snake Clan there. It’s possible that the round-faced girl serving you coffee was secretly a member of the Snake Clan.

Lu Mingfei did not trust the Sheqi Eight Clans. That underworld organization was a mixed bag. Some people might be willing to help him, but at the same time, there would be people who would want to sell him off to the academy.

Of course, it is also possible that everyone wants to sell him to the college as a package. After all, he is now so valuable and has committed such a serious crime.

The atmosphere in the private room was very solemn. Nuonuo was sitting opposite Chu Zihang, asking questions one by one. There was also a cheap camera next to them, recording the conversation.

“Say your name again.” Nono said.

“Chu Zihang.”

“Stop!” Nuonuo was clearly a little impatient and waved to interrupt Chu Zihang. “Last time we were recording, you said your name was Lu Mang!”

“When I was a child, my name was Chu Zihang, but later I changed it to Lu Mang. When people usually ask me, I always say my name is Lu Mang, but you keep asking me if it’s Chu Zihang,” Chu Zihang lowered his head. “I thought you would be happier if I told you my name is Chu Zihang.”

Nuonuo held her forehead helplessly, took a deep breath and calmed down.

Lu Mingfei sat down in the corner. He didn’t find it strange. Chu Zihang had always been like this. He was picky, fussy, and considerate of others. It was just that he was originally covered with the shell of a killer, so it was difficult for outsiders to see this side of him.

Now he has lost that outer shell and a lot of things.

The moment Lu Mingfei laid eyes on Chu Zihang in the RV, he realized something was amiss. He figured it out: it was his eyes. It was true that Chu Zihang sometimes had that gentle, lost look of an elk, but it was those unquenchable golden pupils that had first made him famous.

What they found was Chu Zihang without golden eyes.

“Start over,” Nono adjusted the camera. “Don’t overthink it. I need the simplest and most direct answer. OK?”

Chu Zihang nodded with a good look on his face, which made Lu Mingfei feel a little disgusted. A good and cute Chu Zihang was as unbearable as a woman dressed as Finger.

He tore open a bag of fried noodles and ate it while watching them continue recording.

“What’s your name?” Nono asked.

“Lu Mang, when I was little he was called Chu Zihang.”

“When did you change your name? Why did you change your name?”

“It happened when I was very young. My father’s name was Chu Tianjiao, so I was given the surname Chu when I was born. Later, my mother remarried and took me with her. My stepfather’s surname was Lu, so I changed my name to Lu Mang.” When mentioning the name Chu Tianjiao, Lu Mingfei noticed that he paused.

“You never changed it back later?”

“My name has always been Lu Mang in my household registration. My mom sometimes calls me Chu Zihang.”

“How old are you?”

“I remember I was fifteen years old.” Chu Zihang glanced at the mirror. It was obvious that the guy in the mirror was definitely not a fifteen-year-old boy. His height and body shape were no different from the Chu Zihang in Lu Mingfei’s memory.

When Nuonuo was not present, Lu Mingfei asked Chu Zihang to take off his shirt and show it to him. Chu Zihang hesitated for a moment and then did as he was asked. Chu Zihang’s muscular body, mottled old wounds, and original formal attire must have been the result of hard training and countless gunfire and rain of bullets to have such a physique. It is difficult to fake it.

“What’s your last memory?”

“It was raining heavily and my father came to pick me up from school. When we were stuck in traffic, we found a fork in the road with no cars, so we took the fork. We met on that fork in the road…” Chu Zihang showed a look of obvious fear when he said this.

“Odin?” Nono picked up the mask at his feet and showed it to him.

Chu Zihang was obviously very frightened by the mask and subconsciously shrank back, but still nodded, “Yes, he was riding an eight-legged horse, holding a spear, and was surrounded by flames.”

“Wearing this mask?”

Chu Zihang took another look at the mask, mustered up the courage to nod, “Yes, he was wearing this mask, so his face couldn’t be seen.”
