Dragon Raja 5; Chapter 35: Old Friend (4)

Dragon Raja 5

Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.

A black Lexus stopped in front of the titanium black building. A man in a black suit got out of the car. A middle-aged woman in a kimono was already waiting at the door to greet him.

The VIP elevator took them straight up to the 63rd floor, through a long corridor, and stopped in front of an automatic steel door. After the woman verified her iris, the steel door slowly moved open along the slide.

Behind the door was an authentic Japanese-style teahouse. Such a modern building hides such a teahouse, as if you have stepped back a hundred years.

The floor was covered with tatami mats, there was a wooden screen with fine grids, a flower arrangement of the Ohara school is placed on the small table, prints of Hishikawa Moronobu were hung on the wall, and water was boiling slightly in the handmade iron kettle of Kamebundo.

In the center of the tea room sat a young man in a navy blue kimono, holding a cup of tea steadily in his hand, looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows. From this unique location, most of Shibuya district was in sight.

“Mr. Saeki Ryuji?” The man sat down behind the man in the kimono. “I’ve heard a lot about you, but I’ve never had the chance to pay you a visit. I apologize for that.”

“Is this Mr. Fujiwara Nobunosuke? I’ve heard of you too. I heard that you’re the academy’s new agent stationed in Japan.” Saeki Ryuji slowly turned around and glanced at the man in the suit.

In that glance, this elegant and steady man revealed a hint of murderous intent, the kind of murderous intent that was carefully hidden after going through hundreds of battles, with only subtle traces remaining between his eyebrows and in the corners of his eyes.

“I graduated from Cassell Academy in 2011. I had been working in the Paris branch before and was transferred to Japan four months ago. I am here to pay a visit to Mr. Saeki on behalf of the academy.” Fujiwara Nobunosuke knelt and bowed deeply.

After the Herzog incident, the Snake Eight Families and Cassell College reached a new alliance, and the highest decision-making power returned to the hands of President Anjou, but the Snake Eight Families still enjoyed a great deal of autonomy. In the secret party system, Japan was considered an autonomous region.

These rebellious characters from the underworld are not so easy to deal with, especially since Principal Anjou is still lying in the lifeboat. The secret party does not have any strong figures who can subdue the ruling faction among the Eight Snake Families.

Although Saeki Ryuji, who controls the Japanese Executive Bureau, is young, he is one of the few powerful figures among the Snake Eight Families. Fujiwara Nobunosuke has to be careful when speaking in front of him.

“Please take care of me in the future.” Ryuji Saeki personally served tea to Fujiwara Nobunosuke, his strong forearms covered with tattoos.

“I’ve made the bold move to come to your house this time because I’m asked by the school board to do you a favor, Mr. Saeki…”

“I already know the matter very well. There’s no need for the academy’s agent to come and take care of it in person.” Ryuji Saeki interrupted directly.

“The academy still doesn’t know the position of the Snake Eight Clan on this matter.”

“Mr. Lu Mingfei is a friend of the family, and also a close friend of the former patriarch, Mr. Minamoto no Chisei. The Eight Snake Families once fought side by side with him.” Saeki Ryuji lowered his head and drank the tea in small sips.

Fujiwara no Nobunosuke was worried. The letter announcing that the former student union president Lu Mingfei had become a wanted target had already been sent by EVA to all branches around the world. Only the Snake Eight Families remained silent, so the academy headquarters specially sent Fujiwara no Nobunosuke to test the waters.

At this moment, the person in power, Ryuji Saeki, talked about the friendship between the Snake Eight Families and Lu Mingfei. Cassell Academy certainly knew about this friendship, and all the academy wanted to know was the choice of the Snake Eight Families.

There may be friendships that cannot be betrayed in this world, but they basically exist in novels. The academy hopes that these Japanese people will not put righteousness first and shelter Lu Mingfei and his gang who come to seek refuge, making the situation out of control.

“However, we are friends with justice. If Mr. Lu Mingfei is an enemy of justice, then we will have no choice but to become his enemies!” Saibo Ryuji said firmly.

Fujiwara no Nobunosuke thought that righteousness was indeed a useful thing, and it could be used in either direction. Loyalty to the emperor and patriotism were righteousness, and leading troops in an uprising was also righteousness.

Fortunately, he is a Japanese and is well-versed in the history of the Japanese Warring States Period. He is very familiar with this kind of Japanese double-dealing.

“Then if there is any news about Lu Mingfei, please let Mr. Saeki know…” Fujiwara Nobunosuke bowed.

Ryuji Saeki stopped talking and just lowered his head to drink tea. The only sound in the silent tea room was the faint sound of boiling water.

Fujiwara no Nobunosuke wanted to say a few more polite words, but after enduring the awkward silence for dozens of seconds, he still couldn’t find any suitable topic, so he had to stand up and say goodbye respectfully.
