Dragon Raja 3

“According to Kaguya-hime’s intelligence, the entire highway is now sealed off, and more police cars are on their way—about three hundred in total,” Sakura said.

“Who’s Kaguya-hime?” Caesar asked.

“She’s the independent cloud computing system at the Yanling Research Institute, equivalent to the headquarters’ Norma, but operating separately,” Chisei explained.

“So we’re outside Norma’s surveillance?” Caesar was somewhat surprised. He had always assumed Norma’s monitoring covered the entire world, even including remote places like Fiji. Yet here they were, outside its scope in Japan.

“Kaguya-hime and Norma are directly connected, so Norma can also monitor Japan. However, Kaguya-hime was independently developed by the Japanese branch.”

Police cars rammed continuously into the sides and rear of the Hummer. Under these circumstances, even trying to drive in an “S” shape was difficult. This was their final warning—if Chisei refused to surrender, they would push the Hummer into the deep ditch separating the dual carriageway, which would mean at best a rollover, at worst an immediate explosion.

“If we don’t use firearms, it seems we won’t be able to escape.” Chu Zihang cocked the shotgun. “I see your engine’s RPM is maxed out. This Hummer can’t go any faster.”

“How about a bet?” Chisei smiled. “Give me sixty seconds—no firearms, and I’ll lose the police cars.”

“Interesting, then let’s make a bet!” Caesar got excited. “If you shake off the police in sixty seconds, you win; otherwise, hand over the wheel to me.”

“Fifty-two seconds left. A bet always needs stakes—what are we betting?”

Caesar thought for a moment. “The loser has to rent out the most luxurious host club in Tokyo for a party.”

“Why a host club? We already have everything a host club offers,” Lu Mingfei said.

“It’s a Japanese specialty.” Caesar shrugged. “What’s the point of a regular club? Since we’re in Japan, we should try something local.”

“Thirty-four seconds left. If you’re clear, place your bets.” Chisei glanced back at Caesar.

It was a confident look. Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang looked ahead—a straight highway stretching under the dark sky into the distance, empty salt flats as far as the eye could see. There seemed to be no way out; this was a Hummer, not one of James Bond’s fancy cars. Chisei refused to use firearms, and only about thirty seconds remained.

“Deal, a host club party, and the loser wears host club attire and serves everyone drinks!” Caesar extended his hand to the front seat.

“Twenty-eight seconds.” Chisei gave him a high-five.

“Sakura, you know what to do, right?” Chisei said calmly.

“One hundred percent clear.” Sakura suddenly climbed over from the passenger seat to the back of the car. She was tall for a Japanese girl, and no one could have imagined how agile she was in the limited space of the car. She crawled toward the third row, brushing close to Lu Mingfei, who caught a whiff of her faint plum blossom scent. As she moved, she took off her suit and shirt, revealing the black armor underneath, lined with metal blades. Caesar whistled, and Lu Mingfei quickly covered his eyes—not because of the blades but because Sakura’s figure was now fully exposed.

“A ninja?” Chu Zihang understood.

The Hummer’s rear door opened, and Sakura held on to the door as she flipped onto the roof, clinging like a black spider. Chu Zihang and Caesar both opened the side doors to look up. They wanted to see what Sakura would do. She stood up, feet apart, and began waving her arms continuously into the darkness. Caesar and Chu Zihang couldn’t see the weapons she was throwing; they only heard them whistle sharply through the air. One after another, the front tires of the police cars exploded. The weapons Sakura threw were light and thin but incredibly sharp. They embedded themselves in the tires, and as the wheels turned, the blades were pressed deep into the rubber.

“Oh! Beautiful! Can I get a smile?” Caesar took out his phone. “Give me, give me! Give me that sharpest feeling!”

He wasn’t upset about losing the bet at all; rather, Sakura’s stance while launching those metal blades was truly stunning to him. There was no hesitation or aiming as she launched them—unlike a sniper who hid and calculated every move. She stood like a grandmaster, drawing the concealed blades from different places on her body and throwing them with the fluidity of a calligraphy master painting characters. From her position, countless silvery flashes moved like butterflies, leaving beautiful arcs and forming a storm of metal blades. Caesar was reminded of the female ninja he’d fought in the dark before. Though her excellent figure left an impression, it was Sakura’s dual short sword slashing style, swift like fluttering butterflies, that was even more unforgettable.

Sakura glanced back, her long hair flying in the darkness, and Caesar’s phone flashed just as a rocket whizzed over the roof of the car. The explosion lit her up in fiery red.

“Bravo!” Caesar clapped.

Seven or eight cars with blown tires collided into each other, effectively creating a blockade for the cars behind them. One after another, police cars piled into the steel mess—some were shoved off the shoulder, others crashed into roadside barriers. The police could only watch helplessly as the Hummer sped away, leaving them with hours of work to clear the wreckage and restore traffic. Chisei tossed out his cigarette, the glowing ember bouncing away in the dark, mocking the entire Kanagawa police.

Sakura nimbly flipped back into the car and sat in the front passenger seat, turning to say, “My clothes, please.”

Lu Mingfei quickly handed over her clothes, and within seconds, Sakura transformed back into an unremarkable young assistant—suit and trousers, a long ponytail, and black-rimmed glasses.

“Let me introduce you—Yabuki Sakura, one of my assistants,” Chisei said. “Her Yanling is called ‘Shadow Flow,’ which controls the wind. She can clearly see and manipulate wind currents. While she can’t unleash destructive hurricanes like the ‘Eye of the Storm,’ when the wind carries metal blades, she can control a twenty-meter diameter space. In her domain, unless you’re in impenetrable heavy armor, any fatal gap is enough for her to deliver the blade.”

“Pleased to meet you, Miss Yabuki. May I have the honor of taking you out for dinner in Tokyo?” Caesar extended his hand. “My Yanling is ‘Kamaitachi,’ which is of the same type as yours. I suppose we’re somewhat connected by fate.”

Chisei was a little surprised. “Do you people in the headquarters easily tell others your Yanling?”

“When he meets a girl he likes, he’d even tell her the names of his father’s mistresses,” Lu Mingfei commented.

“That’s impossible,” Caesar shrugged, “because there are too many for me to remember.”
