“The situation is a bit serious. The building was a 120-year-old historical site, under legal protection. So now the Metropolitan Police Department has started investigating the arson. Compared to that, the destruction of the nightclub is a minor issue,” Sakura said.

“Damn it! Burning a historical site could get the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency involved and leaked to the media—this is a huge hit to the family’s reputation! Didn’t they think of that?” Chisei showed a hint of anger.

“They probably didn’t do it on purpose. With their education level—they didn’t even finish high school—do you think they’d recognize a historical site? Most likely, after taking down the rival’s place, they still had some adrenaline left, so they followed their usual habit—poured gasoline and tossed a lighter,” Sakura explained.

“Oh my God, what kind of habit is that? How many buildings do you have to burn down to develop a ‘habit’ like that? Lighting a cigarette and casually tossing the burning lighter behind you, walking heroically away without even glancing back at the flames? Too much of ‘Cool Guys Don’t Look at Explosions’!” Lu Mingfei complained bitterly. (“Cool Guys Don’t Look at Explosions” is a comedic English song, using clips from tough-guy movies to mock this cliché cool-guy trope.)

“Burned it down and that’s that,” Chisei shook his head. “But there must be something else.”

“Hey, what do you mean ‘burned it down and that’s that’? Senior, it sounds like you’re sighing about finding out your wife spent too much shopping on Taobao—‘She likes to buy, let her buy, at most she’s just a bit of a spendthrift!’”

“The reason those Russians dared to go against the family was because the local police chief had their back. So Yasha and Crow…” Sakura hesitated.

“Damn it! Did they kill the police chief?” Chisei was both shocked and furious.

“It wasn’t that serious—they’re perverts, not murderers.” Sakura smiled awkwardly.

“Then what? Did they cut off his fingers? Castrate him? Or encase him in cement?” Chisei looked slightly relieved.

“Hey, hey! Don’t give me that ‘at least it’s just some small trouble’ look!”

“I’m telling you, senior, this is no small matter, we can’t tolerate it!” Lu Mingfei said. “It sounds like our people are getting too cozy with the underworld! As their superior, you’re also responsible, aren’t you?”

Chisei glanced at him in surprise.

“Not really,” Sakura said, “The police chief has a mistress who helps him manage various illegal businesses. Yasha and Crow broke into her apartment, dragged her out of bed, wrapped her whole body in plastic wrap, and covered her with sashimi and sushi, making her into a ‘nyotaimori’ and placing her in the police chief’s office. The one yelling at us now is the police chief—they must have traced the license plate of this car.”

“You’re right… they’re definitely perverts,” Chisei punched the steering wheel. “This kind of idiotic action just provokes the other side! If they were going to do it anyway, couldn’t they at least cover the license plate?”

Lu Mingfei fell silent, too shocked to speak. This wasn’t just about a few individuals involved in some shady dealings—Japan Division seemed completely integrated with the underworld from top to bottom!

“The one who should reflect the most is their superior, given such unruly subordinates. This kind of person wouldn’t last a week in the Student Council,” Caesar said.

He could tell that something was off with Japan Division, but his personality always allowed him to appear calm. That’s what aristocrats were like—they wouldn’t be shocked by anything. Even if a servant came in during a family ball to announce that a group of rebels had revolted, they’d finish the next dance and instruct their guests to enjoy themselves before quietly retreating to the study to write a letter to the king. As for smaller matters, they were waved away with indifference, displaying an attitude of “I’ve already enjoyed the best in life, nothing surprises me anymore, except perhaps the thought of dying.”

“I remember Finger is also in the Student Council,” Chu Zihang said.

Caesar was left speechless; it was hard not to dislike Chu Zihang—he rarely spoke, but every word hit Caesar right where it hurt.

“To the people in the car, this is your last chance! We are about to start counting down!” shouted the police chief.

“Damn, it’s been two minutes, and he’s just starting to count down now?” Lu Mingfei suddenly remembered that they were supposed to have only ten seconds.

“A mere police chief doesn’t have the authority to order them to shoot—he must have called his superiors,” Chisei said. “But this means he’s received authorization now.”

“Then why are we still talking? Let’s just get out and surrender! We didn’t burn the nightclub, we didn’t see his mistress naked—just tell them we’re here as illegal laborers,” Lu Mingfei suggested.

Caesar reached over and lifted the tarp covering the third-row seat: “It doesn’t look like the police will buy that.”

Lu Mingfei glanced at what was under the tarp and felt defeated. It was a single-man missile launcher, two military shotguns, and two pistols. With these weapons alone, the equipment in the vehicle was equivalent to a fully armed squad. There was no pretending to be innocent citizens anymore—they were clearly dangerous criminals.

“It looks like Sleipnir wants to take off,” Chu Zihang said.

“It has to leave. It has two Sidewinder missiles mounted internally…” Chisei said. “If it gets captured, you’d be guilty of armed intrusion into Japanese airspace.”

“So… would confessing first and informing on the accomplices lighten the sentence?” Lu Mingfei asked.

“But we’re your accomplices,” Caesar said. “Isn’t it a bit too blunt to ask us that question?”

The Sleipnir turned its nose, and a hatch opened under its belly. The missile racks extended, with blood-red painted Sidewinders mounted on them. A fighter jet’s dark silhouette quickly approached, skimming over the sea. It was clearly an F-16D from the Japanese Self-Defense Force, piloted by an ace pilot. The fighters were obviously armed, and Sleipnir was preparing to fight back…

Fight back? Lu Mingfei was utterly exasperated—what was a business jet doing trying to fight against fighter jets? It was like driving a BMW head-on against a Leopard tank!

“It actually got locked by the Self-Defense Force’s radar—how careless,” Chisei picked up the radio. “Calling Sleipnir, calling Sleipnir! Put away those missiles, are you trying to kill people in Japanese airspace?”
