Dragon Raja 3; Chapter 71: Ace Combination (4)

Dragon Raja 3

The gangway lowered, and the sound of wooden clogs was crisp and clear as three paper umbrellas floated out of the cabin. The three people wore matching floral kimonos, with white socks and wooden clogs on their feet. Among the three paper umbrellas, one was painted with a white crane and chrysanthemum, another with an erupting Mount Fuji, while the one in the lead had nothing but four imposing characters in bold ink: “The Best Under Heaven.” One of the individuals in the center also had a black-sheathed long sword at their waist. Chisei was stunned—what kind of group had headquarters sent this time… a swordsmanship exchange delegation?

“Damn it, is this Narita Airport? Why can’t I see anything?” the one with the crane and chrysanthemum umbrella said.

“It’s really cold. Couldn’t they arrange for us to land through a VIP gate?” “The Best Under Heaven” grumbled.

“Did we really have to dress like this?” Crane and Chrysanthemum spoke again.

“It’s a gift from the principal, wishing us a smooth journey in Japan, though I must say the gift seems a bit weird.” “The Best Under Heaven” shrugged.

“Hey, do you think the Japanese branch will send a big limo to pick us up? We came on a private jet, so they might send something high-class, right?” Crane and Chrysanthemum looked hopeful.

“Possibly. Japanese people are all about face. Maybe they even arranged a group of girls to present us with flowers,” “The Best Under Heaven” said, pretending to be an expert on Japanese customs.

Chisei felt somewhat at a loss. Listening to this conversation, it seemed this was not a swordsmanship group but rather a Japanese sightseeing group. They appeared to be expecting a stretch limousine on the runway, with girls showing their legs, ready for them to embrace on either side. They were already dressed for a night of partying—just waiting for an izakaya to be taken to, all ready for some hugging and downing bottles of sake! Chisei was furious. He seldom got this angry, but for useless people who willingly indulged themselves, he had zero tolerance!

His eyes grew even colder in his rage… That was when “Erupting Fuji” turned and glanced at him, then rubbed his eyes.

“Chu Zihang actually didn’t see anything clearly; it was just that his eyes felt uncomfortable. The mission had come too suddenly, even causing a person as meticulous as him to make a small mistake—he had put his contact lenses in the wrong eyes, which made his corneas feel irritated. So, when he got off the plane, he took off the contacts, and now his ever-burning golden eyes were exposed directly to the air. The overwhelming dragon aura shot out through his eyes into Chisei’s mind. Chisei felt himself losing control, almost wanting to lean back and avoid it. That gaze was like facing a majestic ancient dragon! Under that gaze, his intimidating stare instantly crumbled!

In just half a minute, Chisei had suffered two significant blows. All his intimidation tactics had failed before he even got a chance to use them! He foresaw that the task of hosting these people would be incredibly difficult.

The sightseeing group completely ignored his presence as the Execution Bureau Director, casually chatting as they passed by him and tossed their luggage into the Hummer.

“This car is parked way too close—it would be a disaster if it got hit,” grumbled “White Crane and Chrysanthemum.” “No courtesy at all.”

Chisei remained silent. Did these people have no sense of danger whatsoever? Did they not realize that if the plane had slid forward just a few more meters, the entire Sleipnir would have turned into a burning fireball?

Lu Mingfei certainly didn’t feel any danger, mainly because it was his first time on a private plane, and he had no concept of how much runway an airplane needed for landing. Nor did he feel it was particularly bumpy—after a brief disagreement, all three of them had closed their eyes, unwilling to engage with each other. Not only Lu Mingfei but Caesar and Chu Zihang had also taken a nap. Their minds had been on edge throughout the journey, but even they felt a bit worn out by the end. They only felt the plane shake briefly before landing, and once the lights came on, they each got up, collected their luggage, and put on the kimonos that the principal had given them for good luck on their journey.

Chisei felt he was facing an unprecedented challenge—the most terrifying opponents are often those you know nothing about. Compared to these incomprehensible people, even a beast like Akira had more predictable logic.

Based on his memory, Chisei quickly identified the three people. “The Best Under Heaven” was Caesar Gattuso, heir of the School Board family, student council president, and a playboy among playboys. “White Crane and Chrysanthemum” was Lu Mingfei, the only current “S” rank student, with grades supposedly too terrible to mention, yet the principal cherished this student more than his prized folding knife. “Erupting Mount Fuji” was Chu Zihang, president of the Lionheart Society, the most violent student, once investigated by the School Board due to his bloodline. Thinking of it this way, the “loser team” wasn’t something to underestimate. Chisei put away his superior attitude.

After stuffing his luggage into the car, Caesar wandered back, grabbed the Mild Seven from Chisei’s hand, and threw it into the sea breeze. He slapped an aluminum tube of cigars into Chisei’s hand, saying, “Don’t smoke that weak stuff; try this.”

His ocean-blue eyes carried the charm of a playboy and the confidence of a big brother. He patted Chisei’s shoulder heavily before striding off on his own. Seeing things get more and more out of control, even Sakura was stunned, unsure of how to help. However, those three madmen were quite polite to Sakura. While Chisei got a cigar as a small gift, Sakura received a black obsidian Athena figurine from Caesar, clearly an expensive accessory. Caesar had a greater respect for beautiful girls than for handsome men. Lu Mingfei took the bouquet from Sakura’s hands, nodding and repeatedly saying, “Arigatou gozaimasu.” Even Chu Zihang gave a slight nod in greeting.

“White Crane and Chrysanthemum” Lu Mingfei leaned out of the car window, half-asleep, using the Japanese he had learned from anime, “Watashi wa… this… Lu Mingfei… desu…”

He was waving a hotel business card. Chisei understood that these three simply mistook him for a tour guide.

Chisei took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and bowed deeply. “I am Gen Chisei, I graduated from Cassell College’s advanced studies program 8 years ago. Welcome to Japan.” He spoke in fluent Mandarin.

Lu Mingfei was stunned. He hadn’t expected this “tour guide” to be a senior alumnus, so he had been a bit disrespectful earlier. He quickly gave a thumbs-up, “Your… Chinese… is very good!”

Chisei’s face twitched slightly.

Chu Zihang had already fallen asleep with his sword in his arms. Without his contact lenses, it was inconvenient to open his eyes, so he took the opportunity to rest.

“Caesar Gattuso, you’re the leader of this group, correct?” Chisei turned to Caesar. Compared to a sleazy fool and an emotionless killer, Caesar seemed like a relatively normal person.

“I am. Start the car.” Caesar waved his hand. He had already gotten into the car, but this person wasn’t driving yet. He was confused, though he didn’t mean to underestimate Chisei—after all, the Gattuso family never underestimated any particular person; they underestimated everyone.
