Dragon Raja 3

This was the battlefield for scientists, and to die on this battlefield was an honor. Miyamoto Zawa felt an inner calm, even a sense of joy. He had quit smoking for years, but today he relapsed, a cigarette wedged between his fingers, typing effortlessly on the keyboard.

If Lu Mingfei were to see this scene, he might have marveled at Miyamoto’s intense focus, graceful keystrokes, and commanding presence—especially the cigarette butt in his fingers, a perfect finishing touch.

The sound of helicopter rotors echoed from above, and Miyamoto Zawa instinctively looked up, wondering who could be arriving at the Tokyo Meteorological Agency at such a time. The information center had been evacuated half an hour ago, and he was the only one still holding out in the entire building.

A few minutes later, a group of half-asleep individuals, lugging heavy equipment cases, shuffled into the computing hall. At first glance, they looked disheveled; upon closer inspection, one might say they were downright eccentric. They wore white protective suits, gas masks, and badges on their chests that displayed the emblem of the “Decaying World Tree.”

Miyamoto Zawa jumped to his feet in shock. These guys lazily raised their eyebrows in greeting, as if nothing was amiss, then each claimed a desk, opened their equipment cases, and began assembling their personal computers.

The Tokyo Meteorological Agency’s computing hall was once again fully staffed, but now an entirely new team had taken over.

This was the expert team from Cassell College’s Gear Department, led by Watt Alheim, arriving in Japan with a grand display.

Just looking at their leader revealed the lavishness of this team. The old man was dressed in a shabby denim shirt and greasy jeans, with a bottle of tequila stuffed into his back pocket.

“Vice Principal! What a surprise!” Miyamoto Zawa bowed deeply.

“Did you study at Cassell College as well? Did you ever attend my classes? I don’t think I’ve taught for many years, but maybe my extraordinary presence made you recognize me?” The Vice Principal was delighted to find a fan in this faraway land.

“Didn’t you still teach physical education?” Miyamoto Zawa said cautiously. In his heart, he added, Isn’t observing the girls’ swimming classes your special privilege, Vice Principal? Even though you rarely leave the belfry, you never miss the swimming exams!

“Oh, right.” The Vice Principal scratched his head. “You truly are one of my students. To stay here instead of seeking refuge in a time like this shows great loyalty.”

“Even if Tokyo sinks tonight, as a scientist, I have a duty to remain here and leave behind first-hand data for humanity!” Miyamoto Zawa said, his voice filled with conviction.

“No need to keep any data. Don’t worry, Tokyo won’t sink,” the Vice Principal said confidently, “because we are already here!”

Boxes upon boxes of beer, cola, and chips were brought down from the rooftop, and in no time the computing hall looked like a party was about to begin. The tech geeks from the Gear Department each grabbed either a beer or a cola, munching and drinking while they connected their personal computers to the internal system of the Tokyo Meteorological Bureau.

No one even thought to ask Miyamoto for a password. They all hacked into the meteorological bureau’s firewall, each displaying their unique skills.

The expert team quickly demonstrated their fighting capability. Fifteen minutes later, they had already sealed off Tokyo and taken control of the “Iron Dome,” managing all the city’s transportation hubs.

Under the Tokyo government’s management, the city could operate at 100% efficiency, but under the control of Eva and the Gear Department, the efficiency increased to 200%. Even in such severe weather conditions, the Gear Department actually opened the airports and allowed flights to depart.

At this moment, the passengers on those flights would undoubtedly be grateful for the Tokyo government’s efficient management and bold decision-making, helping them escape this apocalyptic city. But if they knew their saviors were these deadbeat geeks sipping cola and sucking on lollipops, they’d probably prefer to stay at the airport and perish with Tokyo.

“Damn it! Is it really reasonable for flights to depart in this situation? Are these supposed to be rational scientists? Won’t lightning bring the planes down?” the Vice Principal cursed as he supervised.

“It’s no big deal. Narita and Haneda airports together have over 300 planes grounded. Even if one or two go down, the death rate would only be 1%, not a big deal,” a Hong Kong researcher said casually.

“You moron! But if more than three planes go down, I’ll still curse you out!” the Vice Principal shouted in encouragement.

“The drainage system’s capacity has been pushed to its limit, and all the reservoirs are overflowing. The total water volume has surpassed a billion cubic meters and is still rising,” Researcher C, with a lollipop in his mouth, informed the team of this critical information.

“Damn it! Isn’t it already at the limit? What if the water level keeps rising?” the Vice Principal roared, downing tequila, “Think of something!”

“A limit is just a limit. Limits are meant to be broken, right? Tonight’s a perfect time to test how far Tokyo’s drainage system can surpass its limits,” Researcher C said without emotion.

“Great! For your mother’s honor, make sure the drainage system stays safe!” the Vice Principal shouted, downing another gulp of tequila.

Miyamoto’s heart shifted from joy to worry. This expert team, now in control of Tokyo’s defense, was indeed composed of technical geniuses, but they were also top-tier jerks, led by the jerk of jerks. But, with Tokyo on the brink of destruction, knowing that these lunatics, who valued their own lives above all else, still came to help was somewhat comforting.

The roar of helicopter blades echoed from the rooftop again. A few minutes later, the trembling Governor of Tokyo, Kozen Hyodo, along with his secretary and special advisor, appeared in the computing hall. Everyone raised their beer or cola to welcome them.

“Thank you all for staying with Tokyo during this critical moment. On behalf of the Tokyo government, I thank you!” The governor bowed deeply, tears streaming down his face. At this time of crisis, when even the Prime Minister had fled, seeing the entire Tokyo Meteorological Bureau holding their ground was truly a morale boost.

The only problem was, when did the Tokyo Meteorological Bureau gain so many foreign employees, and why did they all look a bit shady? But the governor didn’t bother with such details anymore. As long as someone was manning their posts, it meant Tokyo hadn’t given up yet.

The secretary led the governor to the higher floors, while the special advisor gave the Vice Principal a quick hug, snatching his tequila for a big gulp in the process. The governor had misunderstood; the crazies from Valhalla had no habit of acknowledging government officials. The only respect they had was for the special advisor standing behind the governor.

From this moment on, Cassell College had control of all of Tokyo.

“The situation is worse than we thought. The awakening of the god is accelerating. It already has full self-awareness and is actively trying to destroy Tokyo, replaying the sinking of Takamagahara. How did you convince those maniacs from the Gear Department to take this mission in such a dangerous place?” the Vice Principal asked in a hushed tone.

“I promised them reimbursement for first-class plane tickets and luxury hotels, and told them the izakayas in Tokyo are the most exciting places in the world. So they came. But I didn’t mention that there’s a god in Tokyo,” Anjou said calmly.

“You’re insane. Not only do you risk your own life, but you drag your subordinates and old friends into it as well. Next time, don’t ask me for this kind of mission, okay? Have you considered the feelings of my bald-headed son?”

“I have. If we die in Tokyo, Norma will arrange for him to give a eulogy at your funeral, ensuring he has plenty of opportunities to express his sorrow in front of everyone,” Anjou patted the Vice Principal’s shoulder. “Thank you. If you hadn’t come, the cowards in the Gear Department wouldn’t have come either.”

“Get ready! I’m connecting to all the outdoor ads in Tokyo!” Anjou ordered, turning around.

“Are you going to issue an emergency notice?” a researcher asked, looking up. He was responsible for controlling all indoor and outdoor information systems in Tokyo.

“No, I’m posting a missing person notice!”

Although it wasn’t an ideal time for speeding, Caesar was indeed speeding.

He was riding a Honda VTX1800 cruiser motorcycle, while Chu Zihang was on a racing bike. When they found the two motorcycles, the keys were still in the ignition, and the engines hadn’t been turned off—likely because the owners had rushed to higher ground for safety, leaving their bikes behind.
