Dragon Raja 3; Chapter 421: The Boss Lady (1)

The helicopter had also left the airspace over Shinjuku. The lady boss swayed her hips as she gracefully walked up the steps and clapped her hands: “We’re closed, you brats! Lock the doors! Even if the Prime Minister comes tonight, we’re not opening!”

As soon as she closed the door, she swallowed hard, and her aura instantly halved: “Hey! Isn’t it a bit much to repay a benefactor with betrayal?”

The dance floor lights all turned on, and the bar by the dance floor was lined with bottles of Cristal and cognac. Basara King was on the left, Ukyo on the right, and a spot in the middle was left for the lady boss, as if they were welcoming her with open arms on both sides.

Such treatment would have made any other woman tremble with happiness, but the lady boss surrendered immediately.

“Let’s chat, okay? You’ve taken care of us for so long, we’ve got to show some gratitude.” Caesar was toying with his Desert Eagle, Chu Zihang’s long sword was lying across the table, and Lu Mingfei and Finger were bringing over bottles of alcohol from the wine cabinet.

“Alright, alright! Just don’t force the drinks on me. I’ll spill everything, no lies!” The lady boss obediently sat down between Caesar and Chu Zihang.

Her aura had completely dissipated at this point. After all, she was just a logistics personnel, with no physical training. Authority and grandeur could certainly intimidate someone like Fūma Kōtarō, but they were useless against the thugs in front of her.

Caesar scrutinized this strange hybrid of a girl who looked as innocent as a schoolgirl but had the commanding presence of a queen. Now that he thought about it, their entanglement in the war between Yamata no Orochi and the Oni Clan had all started after they came to Takamagahara. Without this sanctuary, they would have likely found a way to escape Japan through human smuggling routes, and none of this would’ve happened. In other words, the chaos began when they entered Takamagahara, and Lu Mingfei’s earlier thoughts about not dragging the lady boss into it seemed pointless—she was the very essence of the chaos!

“What about that car? I mean the car that was sent to pick us up. When we escaped from the Mambo Internet Café, we chose the route randomly. How did you know we’d appear at that intersection?” Caesar asked slowly.

“You would’ve headed for a safe harbor first, obviously. There are less than 30 possible routes from there. We just bought more cars and parked one at each intersection.”

“Why bring us to a host club?”

“Probably because it’s more fun this way…”

“Probably? You don’t know the purpose behind your own actions?”

“Assigning you to work as hosts was my boss’s idea. When you have a crazy boss, it’s hard to figure out his motives. You can only guess.”

“What exactly do you do? Run host clubs?”

“No. Our organization doesn’t have any branches in Japan. To provide you with a place to stay, we had no choice but to temporarily buy this club at a high price.” The lady boss flashed a number with her fingers.

“With that kind of money, couldn’t you have just bought a hotel to provide us accommodation?”

“Who says you’re wrong? I think a hotel would’ve been much cheaper too… But with a crazy boss, you just have to go along with it.”

“Your name?”

“Enxi.”

“Your identity?”

“Chairwoman of the Education Promotion Fund of the United States-European Union Alliance.”

“Try again. If you’re going to lie, at least make it more believable!”

“Special advisor for the East Asia Child Living Conditions Research Center, under the UN Committee for the Eradication of Poverty.”

“Anything else?”

“Founder of the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Jade and Gemstone Membership Trading Organization.”

“Damn it! Can we stop playing these stupid games? I’m asking for your real identity!” Caesar was on the verge of losing his temper.

“They’re all real identities.” Enxi handed a stack of business cards to Caesar. “I did the math once. I hold positions in about 200 organizations, so I have over 200 real identities.”

“What exactly do you do?” Caesar was nearing a breakdown.

“I do everything. We’re just the maids by the boss’s side. Whatever the boss tells me to do, I do. It’s tough, you know, but every word I say is the truth.”

“What’s your relationship with the Orochi? Why do they listen to you?”

“Actually, I don’t have much of a relationship with the Orochi. The reason they listen to me is because,” Enxi calculated in her head for a moment, “they owe me some money.”

“How much money?”

“Over 20 billion euros—not an exact figure. You’d have to account for Japan’s recent economic recovery, the rise in stock futures, the energy shortage, and there’s still around 7 billion euros in convertible bonds that haven’t been factored in.”

Lu Mingfei sprayed champagne all over Finger’s face. That amount of money could probably buy a small country in Africa, right? Could she possibly be any more extravagant?

“So you’re the Orochi’s creditor?”

“To be precise, our fund manages 75% of the Orochi’s overseas assets and 45% of their Japanese assets. We gained this right by continuously injecting investments into them over the years. We could bankrupt many of the Orochi’s companies in a short amount of time. That’s why Fūma Kōtarō, that old geezer, had to submit. He doesn’t want his family to fall into an economic crisis.”

“Now tell us your motivation. What do you want to achieve? Why are you doing this? And what’s your boss’s real identity?”

“That’s a long story…”

“We’re not afraid of long stories. The more detailed, the better.”

“What I mean is, why don’t we all go to bed and talk about it tomorrow?”

“Fine, but clear the alcohol off the table first.”

“You’re all so cruel, treating a weak woman like this.” Enxi sighed. “Humpback Whale, bring me that fish tank.”

It wasn’t really a fish tank, but a large-bellied porcelain urn with a thin celadon glaze and painted with colorful scenes of ladies and warriors feasting under cherry blossoms. The colors were rich and vivid. Humpback Whale was determined to make this a high-class nightclub, so even the decor was carefully selected. This particular piece was a famous “Kutani ware” from the Edo period, originally used to hold sake, but now filled with clear water and used as a fish tank, where a few small koi swam leisurely among the aquatic plants.

Enxi poured both the fish and water into an ice bucket, rinsed the urn with half a bottle of strong liquor, then dumped all the alcohol on the table into the urn, squeezing in a lemon afterward.

She lifted the urn, like a whale inhaling the sea, and downed half of it in one go! Her stomach visibly expanded as the alcohol filled her, and she wiped her mouth delicately with a napkin, letting out a small, gentle burp.

Her audacious display left everyone speechless. They all watched as Enxi slowly placed the urn back on the bar and glanced around, looking down on them all with a commanding presence: “Let this be a lesson—neither torture, alcohol, nor femme fatales can pry any information from the mouth of a resolute revolutionary!”

Enxi stood with her hands on her hips, laughing coquettishly. The men silently watched her, mesmerized by her laughter and the way she swayed. She was indeed drunk, but also had a massive alcohol tolerance. The previous timidness in front of the bottles had all been an act—her true feelings upon seeing the alcohol were probably sheer delight.

Enxi pulled a key out of her bag and tossed it onto the bar: “There’s a Benz in the garage. If you need it, just take the key.”

“I’ll take you back to your room to sleep,” Caesar offered, supporting her by the arm.
