Dragon Raja 3; Chapter 361: We’re All Monsters (5)

Dragon Raja 3

“This photo has already been distributed to all members of the Execution Bureau,” Chisei said. “We are monitoring all hotels, especially small inns without surveillance systems. The search perimeter will gradually tighten, and we should have results within 24 hours.”

“If you encounter Osho again during the search, do not initiate an attack lightly,” Tachibana said in a low voice. “Ordinary attacks won’t work on him. Only you and I can deal with him.”

“You’re getting old, so you should stay at home.”

“I may not have your superior bloodline, but isn’t the person who should kill that demon the one who released him from prison in the first place? It was I who freed him, and I should be the one to send him back to hell,” Tachibana said slowly.

Lu Mingfei had to use all his strength to move Erii from the bathroom to the bed.

Perhaps she felt a sense of security in the embrace, as the girl had fallen soundly asleep in the bathtub. Lu Mingfei had to grope around in the dark for a bath towel, wrap her in it, and then carry her to the bed. Leaving her in the bathtub wasn’t a good idea; the water would gradually get cold.

Drying the girl’s body was something he felt would be inappropriate for him to do, so he could only cover her with a few towels in the dark, then wait until the water was absorbed before pulling the down quilt over her. After doing all this, he finally dared to pull the blackout curtains slightly open, using the faint light from the street lamp outside to examine the sleeping girl. She looked peaceful and well-behaved as she slept, like a real princess, one who should be lying in a royal bedroom decorated with white satin and lace, serene and beautiful, waiting to be awakened.

But she was indeed a monster, a creature that didn’t belong in this world.

How many deaths had her rage caused last night? Dozens or hundreds? How many of those people were innocent? For Cassell College, such an incident would be classified as an extremely serious Death Servitor attack. There was no doubt they would send an A-Class commissioner to execute her.

In both human society and the Hybrid society, this girl had committed a crime that could not be tolerated.

Lu Mingfei sat by the bed for a long, long time. He quietly reached under the covers and touched Erii’s ankle. Her skin, which was once as delicate and soft as any other girl’s, now felt cold and hard. The sharp scales hadn’t completely faded; they remained stubbornly on her ankle and back. He had noticed them when he was carrying her. The bulging veins stretched like a black spider web along her back and thighs, and the blood vessels, some thick and some thin, pulsed under her skin like tiny snakes.

Her dragon transformation hadn’t truly been reversed. The dragon blood was still restless, gradually eroding her body and mind. Once she lost control, there would be no turning back. She could revert to the monster from last night at any moment.

Lu Mingfei pulled his hand back, tucked the blanket around her, and grabbed an umbrella from the corner. Before dawn, he ventured out into the rain.

“Take off your clothes!” Caesar said coldly.

“I didn’t mean for you to take off your pants too!” he added a moment later.

“Oh… You said it so seriously, I thought you wanted me to strip completely,” Lu Mingfei muttered sheepishly, pulling his pants back up and standing under the light, naked from the waist up.

“Turn around,” Chu Zihang said.

Lu Mingfei turned, revealing his scar-covered back, with crisscrossing wounds so numerous that not even a palm-sized patch of unscarred skin could be found. Caesar and Chu Zihang were both startled; they had never seen external injuries of this magnitude. It didn’t look like the result of a knife cut but rather as if he had been dragged through a meat grinder.

“Have you seen enough? I’m a bit cold,” Lu Mingfei said, feeling slightly embarrassed as Caesar and Chu Zihang examined his back as if they were antique collectors appraising a fine jade statue.

“Incredible regenerative abilities,” Caesar muttered. “Wounds this severe, even with top-tier medical treatment and care, would take at least three weeks to heal to this extent. But it’s only been eight hours since he was injured. And with wounds like these, he should have bled to death on the spot.”

“That’s because the wounds began healing the moment they were inflicted. The blood vessels sealed themselves, so the blood in his body was locked in. The cells rapidly divided to close the wounds, and even severed tendons were able to reattach,” Chu Zihang said. “His regenerative ability surpasses that of Chisei.”

“Is that the reason the principal rated him as S-Class?” Caesar mused.

“But he doesn’t always have this regenerative ability. Last time, his gunshot wound wasn’t as severe as his current injuries, but it still took him three or four days to regain consciousness,” Chu Zihang said.

“I thought about that too. If he always had this ability, wouldn’t he be the perfect meat shield? If we ever get into another gunfight, we could just have him stand in front of us and absorb all the damage. He walks ahead, and we hide behind him, advancing while suppressing the enemy fire.”

“Didn’t they always tell me not having a childhood was just a lie to fool me? Boss, you know way too much about how to use a tank. Do you play World of Warcraft or Warhammer in your spare time?” Lu Mingfei interrupted their technical discussion. “But regardless of whether you play Warcraft or Warhammer, could you both shut up now? I came to you because there’s something more important!”

“We already know. Even if you hadn’t come to find us, we would’ve sought you out,” Caesar said as he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. “Every channel has been broadcasting this, replaying it all night.”

The screen showed a long street that Lu Mingfei found familiar. The wreckage of a motorcycle was still burning fiercely. Judging by the timestamp in the lower right corner, this live news footage was from last night. Police cars, ambulances, and news vans had all arrived, and the entire street was cordoned off. Medical personnel were carrying out one body after another in black body bags. The oxygen tanks and blood packs brought by the ambulances were useless—this was a massacre with no survivors. Every person affected had received a death order.

The scene shifted to a reporter interviewing the manager of Chateau Joel Robuchon outside the police tape.

“It’s truly tragic. I saw them passing in front of the restaurant, chasing each other at high speed, heading northwest. Fortunately, the restaurant’s guests weren’t disturbed,” the manager said with a sigh. “I hope the government strengthens police presence. We can’t let the yakuza act so brazenly.”

The main house had obviously briefed him beforehand, so during the interview, he didn’t mention that Lu Mingfei and Erii had dined at his restaurant that night. He played the role of a complete bystander.
