Dragon Raja 3; Chapter 353: Family Dinner (14)

Dragon Raja 3

Five billion yen, roughly forty million U.S. dollars, was a fortune that could drive anyone mad. Tonight, Ebisu Garden would turn into a playground for criminals, and the situation was already spiraling out of control.

There was no time to assign blame. Chisei grabbed a nearby police officer and flung him aside. A hulking Yasha caught the airborne officer effortlessly with one hand. Chisei kicked the spiked, heavy roadblock, sending it flying.

No ordinary barricade could stop an heir of the royal bloodline. If Chisei chose to disregard the law, human lives, and societal norms, even an entire battalion couldn’t stand in his way.

Sakura had already leaped into a Humvee, which roared to life as it passed Chisei. In an instant, Chisei was in the passenger seat, and from the back, Crow handed him a loaded Colt pistol.

If anyone harmed Erii, Chisei would ignore the law, human lives, and societal norms.

Meanwhile, Lu Mingfei and Erii burst out the back door of Chateau Joel Robuchon, the cold rain drenching them. The persistent hallucinations that had plagued him finally began to fade.

Lu Mingfei pressed his hands against the blue Lamborghini, gasping for breath.

There really was a Lamborghini waiting for him at the back door of the restaurant, parked right up against the door rather than in a parking space. It was clear someone had prepared this getaway vehicle for him. At this moment, besides a helicopter, only a supercar could help him and Erii escape.

The Lamborghini Aventador, with a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour, was an expensive beast of speed, but its low chassis was ill-suited for driving in the heavy rain and puddles. It seemed that things had escalated too quickly, and whoever had warned him didn’t have time to prepare a more appropriate vehicle. This car was a convertible, and the nylon roof hadn’t been put up, so the seats were soaked. Erii, still paralyzed by fear, leaned against Lu Mingfei with a blank expression, unable to hear him even when he spoke to her. With no other option, Lu Mingfei lifted her and gently placed her in the passenger seat.

“Hurry! Damn it, hurry up!” Lu Mingfei shouted, trembling as he fumbled to start the engine.

Less than fifty meters away, Mai was replacing the regular magazine in her sniper rifle atop the rooftop.

“Hopefully, you learned something about driving at Cassell College,” she muttered coldly, before turning her gun toward the street, targeting the gang members charging ahead.

Her sniper rifle gave a dull thud, and the front wheel of one motorcycle exploded, sending the rider tumbling to the side of the road. Three successive shots formed a triangle on a nearby streetlight pole, causing it to snap in half and temporarily slow down the advancing crowd.

Though she couldn’t fire directly at the people, Mai used every means available short of lethal force. Her AS50 sniper rifle wasn’t like Caesar’s Desert Eagle; even a grazing shot from it could tear off an entire arm.

People were rushing toward Chateau Joel Robuchon from all directions. The Lamborghini’s only chance was to barrel through the crowd before it fully converged. Very few cars could keep up with it at full speed.

The car’s headlights cut through the rain, and its engine roared like a beast as Lu Mingfei finally managed to get it started.

At that exact moment, the eerie server with the noh mask face burst through the restaurant’s back door. His eyes were glowing a crimson-gold, a hue resembling that of hybrids, just below the Dragon King’s level. Chu Zihang had once shown this same color during his fourth stage of Bloodrage.

The man’s body emitted heat so intense that steam rose from his rain-soaked figure. He grabbed the Lamborghini’s rear bumper with his bare hands, attempting to hold back the supercar with sheer human strength, as if trying to climb onto the rear engine.

Under normal circumstances, Lu Mingfei would’ve laughed at how insane that seemed. But after what had happened in the hallway, he wasn’t in the mood for jokes. He didn’t know what this server was, but he believed the man could pull it off.

The server’s target was Erii, and Lu Mingfei was absolutely certain he couldn’t let her fall into such dangerous hands.

He shifted into reverse and floored the gas pedal, ramming the server back into the restaurant, shattering the sturdy rear door in the process.

Without a second thought, Lu Mingfei switched to drive. What worried Mai wasn’t a major challenge for him. He had taken a driving course at Cassell College, and it was one of the few classes where he had earned a B.

With the engine revving at high RPM in low gear, he slammed the gas, and the Lamborghini shot forward like an arrow. In the rearview mirror, he saw the glowing red-gold eyes gradually fade into the doorway, as the server, still emitting steam, emerged once again.

Even though the collision should’ve broken the spine of a grizzly bear, the server appeared unscathed, standing in the pouring rain, staring at the Lamborghini’s taillights.

Lu Mingfei wasn’t superstitious, and as a student of Cassell College, he believed that all supernatural phenomena could be explained by the Dragon Clan. But as he stared at the glowing eyes in the rearview mirror, it felt like there was a demon standing behind the car.

This thing was more dangerous than a Dragon King! If they didn’t kill it here, the consequences would be unimaginable! It couldn’t be allowed to live in this world! Absolutely not!

A sharp determination exploded in his mind, running down his spine. The trembling sensation of darkness returned to his body. He opened his jacket and pulled out the Colt 92FS tucked into his waistband. Caesar had insisted he carry a weapon, though Lu Mingfei had initially refused, worried that he’d be searched by the police on the street. Without Caesar and Chu Zihang around, he felt like a harmless little bunny. But now, facing the server, he was like a completely different person—this little bunny had revealed its iron teeth and steel claws.

The Lamborghini accelerated away, gunfire flashing through the night as Lu Mingfei fired armor-piercing bullets toward the rear. Just like on his first day at school, when he had instinctively picked up a sniper rifle after seeing Susie stabbed in the throat by Nono, his body responded to his will, adjusting to the perfect shooting stance. The Beretta felt like an extension of his body. He precisely controlled each bullet’s trajectory, every shot hitting the server’s vital points and drawing blood. Even Caesar would have been astonished by Lu Mingfei’s accuracy in that moment, as though the bullets were infused with a “must hit” command.

The black-clad server sprinted through the rain of bullets, keeping pace with the Lamborghini! Despite every shot from Lu Mingfei hitting him, the sound of bullets penetrating flesh unmistakable, and the mercury-filled rounds deadly to both dragons and hybrids, the server seemed completely unharmed. From her elevated position, Mai witnessed this impossible scene. Her Bluetooth earpiece crackled with a stern order: “Take that man down. He must not be allowed to reach Lu Mingfei!”

She quickly reloaded, firing rapidly from her vantage point. Calling herself an ace sniper was no exaggeration. Even handling a rifle with immense recoil, she emptied her magazine in just three seconds.
