Dragon Raja 3

The girl was drying her hair while brushing her teeth, her mouth full of foam. It seemed she had a habit of bathing before bed.

Behind Lu Mingfei was a floor covered in blood, something the girl couldn’t possibly have missed. Yet, here she was, calmly brushing her teeth. How cold-blooded would someone have to be to remain this composed in such a scene? The girl stared coldly at Lu Mingfei, continuing her brushing.

“We… we’ve met before. Don’t you remember me?” Lu Mingfei stammered, raising his hands in surrender.

Though their first encounter had been nearly 700 meters underwater, the deep blue sea obscuring the girl’s face, he clearly remembered her crimson eyes and hair as dark as seaweed. That memory was etched into his mind, as vivid as a brand. Lu Mingfei was certain—this was the girl who had descended upon them from the sky, standing atop an iceberg, slaying the dragon-shaped Death Servitor in one move. She was the most secretive human weapon of the Yamata no Orochi. A figure of her caliber should have been living in a luxurious apartment, constantly attended to, yet here she was, locked away in a cold, inhumane hospital, like a lonely monster.

A lonely monster… Something stirred in Lu Mingfei’s heart. He had never wanted to talk about Lu Mingze’s existence to anyone, never wanted to admit that it was he who had killed Norton and Fenrir. The reasons were complex, but deep down, he knew he had stepped into some forbidden territory. If his secret were ever discovered, he would become a lonely monster too—feared and locked away, studied like a specimen, stripped of the small joys like pooling money with Finger for midnight snacks.

Suddenly, fear surged back within him. The vault door was 20 centimeters thick, and the steel-reinforced ward and air-extraction system were designed to prevent her escape. Everything about this place indicated how terrifying the Yamata no Orochi found her. It had been this girl, who, through a vault door, had effortlessly killed the Death Servitor. To a creature like her, human life probably held no value at all, which explained why she could brush her teeth and dry her hair in front of a room full of corpses. She was more dangerous than any Death Servitor, and now that the door was open, nothing could stop her.

The girl switched from brushing her left teeth to her right, appearing meticulous in following her dentist’s instructions.

Suddenly, something clicked in Lu Mingfei’s mind. He nervously fumbled in his coat pocket and pulled out a small, rubber duck the size of an egg. Trembling, he held it out to her, repeating clumsily in Japanese, word by word: “You… you… hello… we… we’ve met.”

When the girl saw the rubber duck, her eyes brightened, much like any other girl spotting a kitten or puppy on the street. But as soon as she looked back at Lu Mingfei, her gaze turned cold once again. She inspected him from head to toe, not missing a single detail, much like an executioner dissecting a condemned person inch by inch. Lu Mingfei felt both terrified and embarrassed, instinctively pulling his legs together, crossing his arms over his chest, and turning his body sideways—if his black trench coat were replaced with a sheer gown, the pose might have even looked somewhat seductive.

Suddenly, the girl reached out with a claw-like hand and grabbed Lu Mingfei’s head!

The moment her nails touched his scalp, Lu Mingfei inwardly screamed, I’m done for! Who would have thought the Nine Yin White Bone Claw had a successor in Japan?

Her clawing was swift, turning his hair into a messy nest. Then, she leaned in, staring at him closely. Gradually, she began to smile. Though the smile was faint and cold, like a reflection on snow, it looked beautiful on her otherwise expressionless face, as if she had blushed.

Lu Mingfei suddenly understood what was going on. When he had been submerged in the ocean, his hair had been wild and unruly, and the girl must have been trying to restore that state to recognize him. Damn! Is having a common face really a crime? Could it be that my defining feature is messy hair? Just as he shook off his fear, he became indignantly frustrated.

But how could he dare show any displeasure? After all, this was a human-shaped weapon, a terrifying force. “Miss Erii?” he asked cautiously.

The name was written on the belly of the rubber duck in waterproof marker, “Erii’s Duck.” So, it seemed, her name was Erii. The brief sentence mixed kanji, hiragana, and an English word. Lu Mingfei thought that her language teacher must have passed away early…

Erii nodded and resumed brushing her teeth.

“Lu… Sakura. My name is Sakura Lu,” Lu Mingfei stammered, deciding not to reveal his real name.

Erii nodded again, taking the rubber duck from his hands and placing it on top of her head. She had nowhere else to put it since she was wearing nothing but a bath towel. Realizing this, Lu Mingfei quickly blushed and turned away in embarrassment.

A loud noise echoed from the end of the corridor. Despite the dim lighting, Lu Mingfei could still make out numerous pale hands and deformed, clawed appendages pressed against the glass window of the airtight door. Countless Death Servitors had gathered outside, frantically pounding and clawing at the door, likely attracted by the scent of blood seeping through. The airtight door was incredibly sturdy, and even the observation window was made of 5-centimeter-thick reinforced glass. For now, the Death Servitors couldn’t break through, but if they continued their assault, it was hard to say how long it would hold. At some point, this entire building had turned into a nest for these creatures, and now these bloodthirsty beasts were roaming every corner of the skyscraper.

“We… we need to get out of here! Is there another exit?” Lu Mingfei’s face turned pale with fear.

Erii bit down on her toothbrush, grabbed Lu Mingfei by the collar with one hand, and effortlessly pulled him behind her. With her other hand, she easily yanked the red katana embedded in the vault door and, without hesitation, hurled it toward the airtight door. It was just a simple Japanese sword, but as it flew, it seemed to carry the force of a supersonic jet. The air pressure shockwave that enveloped the blade lifted papers from the table and blood from the floor, sending them spinning violently around it, though its speed wasn’t actually that fast. The entire corridor seemed to be engulfed by a storm—filled with blood, paper, and even small metallic objects. The red katana silently sliced through the airtight door, and the papers swirling around it began to shred the bodies of the Death Servitors at high speed.

Yanling: Judgement!

This was the second time Lu Mingfei had witnessed such a superhuman miracle. To Erii, any object in the world could become a weapon in her hands, each one merely a messenger delivering the command to kill.

Countless Death Servitors perished from that single strike. After a loud crash, the end of the corridor fell into a deep silence.

“W-we need to go!” Lu Mingfei wanted to reach out and pull Erii along but couldn’t find a suitable way to grab her.
