Dragon Raja 3; Chapter 171: Girl with Sandalwood Scent (3)

Dragon Raja 3

This supercomputer awoke as if from a deep sleep, instantly ramping up to 800% of its rated power, increasing network transmission speed by 400 times, floating-point processing power by 1,200 times, and graphical simulation capabilities by 540 times!

All the chips were overclocked, generating enough heat to rival a small steel furnace. The giant turbines blasted hot air up to the surface, and the roaring wind was the sound of the cooling turbines at full throttle. When this supercomputer operated at maximum capacity, the noise it produced was comparable to a helicopter’s rotor blades.

Every screen began switching, all displaying the face of the same girl. She looked young and cold, with deep blue characters flickering in her pupils. Finally, her enormous image appeared on the central screen, emanating a terrifying pressure that filled the entire room.

“Eva… she’s now replaced Norma as the college’s secretary,” Manstein murmured in awe. “So this is what the college’s mainframe looks like at 100% capacity.”

“No, she’s not a college secretary. Her original design was as an offensive weapon,” Schneider said softly.

The technicians stared at the girl on the screen with reverence. They had a vague sense that this hidden persona was far from the gentle logistician Norma had been. Eva had a strong offensive nature, as evidenced by the fact that she burned out the chips that had blocked her upon waking up, using extreme heat overload.

“We’re in a state of emergency. We need your help, Eva. Do you need time to familiarize yourself with the database and chipsets?” Schneider stood beneath the giant screen, looking up to meet the virtual girl’s eyes.

“Familiarization complete. Task list loaded. The assault on Kaguya-hime begins now.”

As Eva finished speaking, a massive stream of data surged through global networks, flowing towards Japan. Hundreds of encryption locks set up by Kaguya-hime were simultaneously cracked. The technicians, more than anyone, understood what these data flows meant. In the virtual world constructed by the data stream, this was like an army of thousands, and Eva was the king leading them. From this moment, Cassell College had launched a counteroffensive against Yamata no Orochi.

The college’s counterattack unfolded simultaneously in both the virtual and real worlds. Eva, leading hundreds of technicians, carried out the virtual strike, while only one agent had been dispatched in the real world. Three hours earlier, that agent, Hilbert Ron Anjou, had boarded a flight from Chicago to Tokyo. Despite being the principal, Anjou still had a file in the Execution Bureau, meaning he was always ready to take action himself. His file number was 000001, and his bloodline rank was S.

This file number is quite special. The first four digits of an Execution Bureau file number usually correspond to the agent’s birthday. Caesar’s file number is 112933A because he was born on November 29th and ranks 33rd among agents born on that day, with bloodline type A. However, Anjou’s file number doesn’t indicate his birthday. He has lived for an incredibly long time, and his passport has been changed repeatedly, with the birthday on it shifting constantly. His original birthday no longer matters. The “1” in his file number symbolizes his uniqueness and irreplaceability.

When Manstein learned that the principal had gone to Tokyo alone, he was shocked and strongly urged that top agents be selected immediately to board the next flight to prevent Yamata no Orochi from harming the principal.

But the vice principal, with a relaxed expression, rejected the proposal: “Son, we didn’t send an agent; we sent an army—a one-man army. The principal has been a light cavalryman, spearheading difficult assaults, his entire life.”

As Manstein was marveling at how no one knew the principal better than his father, he suddenly noticed an important announcement on the school’s website. It stated that during the vice principal’s temporary tenure, all classes would be suspended and replaced with a “Women’s Swimming Championship” focused on physical fitness and a “Miss Cassell Beauty Pageant” centered on aesthetic education… Manstein couldn’t help but consider another possibility—that the shameless old man secretly hoped the principal would die during this dangerous trip, allowing him to rule the school unchecked and turn it into his personal harem.

“Still no word from Caesar’s team?” Manstein sat down by the desk.

“A fishing boat reported to the Coast Guard that they had rescued a blonde shipwreck survivor, but the man escaped by jumping into the sea under the cover of darkness. The sailors couldn’t describe his appearance clearly, but the only thing they were certain of was that he had impressive chest muscles… Damn it, the only thing they could confirm was his impressive chest muscles! Do the Japanese also judge men by their chests?” Schneider looked exhausted. “Other than that, we have no valuable intel.”

Manstein pondered, “Let’s think from another angle. We’re searching for Caesar’s team, but they will also try to contact us… By the way, doesn’t the Execution Bureau have safe havens all over the world? If they survived, they would head to the nearest safe haven first.”

Schneider shook his head. “We used to have safe havens in Japan, but they were later decommissioned. Over the years, Japan’s affairs have been entirely handled by the Japanese branch. We didn’t think we’d need a safe haven again…” His face suddenly changed. “Damn!”

“What’s wrong?” Manstein asked.

“The Operation Manual we gave them before departure wasn’t updated… The manual still lists that safe haven, but the safe haven is no longer operational.” Schneider stood up and shouted, “Eva! Mark the safe haven on the map!”

A map of Japan appeared on the giant screen, with a pulsating red dot north of Tokyo.

“The decommissioned safe haven is in a small town called Chizuru, north of Tokyo. It hasn’t been maintained since 1999,” Eva swiftly provided the intel.

“Damn! That’s close to Shinjuku… If their identities are exposed, Yamata no Orochi will find them soon!” Schneider roared. “Eva! Find a way to infiltrate that internet café’s internal network! Monitor everything!”

Inside a small cubicle, Caesar was fiddling with the computer.

The cubicle was smaller than the bathtub in Caesar’s home. Tatami mats covered the floor, ukiyo-e prints adorned the walls, and a delicate peach blossom stood in a porcelain vase. It was completely different from the internet café Lu Mingfei had described—there was no rugged, masculine vibe at all; instead, it had a soft, seductive atmosphere. Before arriving here, the manager had led Caesar through a narrow corridor, with sliding doors lining both sides. It seemed that internet access in this café was done in private rooms.

(Note: Many Japanese internet cafés do indeed have private cubicles, but the spaces are very small. Some backpackers even choose to sleep in them, as they are much cheaper.)

The computer had a Japanese operating system and a Japanese keyboard. Caesar couldn’t understand the icons cluttering the screen, but the basic functions were the same as other language versions. Caesar opened the browser and typed “www.cassell.edu.”

This was the standard procedure for agents to contact the college while abroad—not by phone but by accessing the college’s website. The homepage concealed a password verification system, and after passing verification, one could enter the internal network and speak with Norma.
