Dragon Raja 3

“I warned you that four hours after injecting the dragon blood serum, you must inject the stabilizer, or the ancient dragon’s serum will turn you into a Death Servitor!” Su Enxi shouted angrily. “Why didn’t you inject the stabilizer?”

“Tell me if there’s still a chance. If not, hurry up… because if I lose control, you won’t be able to handle me.” Mai drew out her Glock, loaded a bullet in front of Su Enxi, the bullet tip sharpened into a blood-red crystal — a bullet fatal even to a Dragon King-level target. With trembling hands, she handed the gun to Su Enxi. Exhausted, she was barely able to walk in her high heels, though her movements appeared seductively graceful.

“Come with me inside! Stop wasting time!” Su Enxi grabbed the Glock and tossed it aside.

Normally, Mai could hang from the eaves with just two fingers all day, but now, she was so drained that she could barely reach the edge of the hot spring, making several attempts to stand but failing.

“Enough! Right here is fine!” Su Enxi laid Mai down on the green stone next to the spring. With the help of the diving knife, she tore off the tight-fitting suit. This kind of suit required assistance to put on and take off, and in her weakened state, Mai couldn’t manage it alone.

Mai’s body, covered in blue scales, twisted seductively on the green stone like an alluring serpent. Su Enxi checked her pulse, finding her heartbeat as rapid as a drumbeat. She had sustained severe injuries, with a massive wound extending from her chest down to her abdomen, undoubtedly damaging her internal organs. The ancient dragon serum’s cell regeneration was helping heal the wound but was also eroding her body. The dual nature of dragon blood—both an unparalleled medicine and a deadly poison—was fully manifesting in her.

“Hold on! Do something to keep yourself focused!” Su Enxi yelled.

“Can I recite the alphabet… I’ll recite the alphabet…” Mai’s gaze began to blur.

“No! You need to do something that requires mental effort. You can’t let yourself pass out! If you fall unconscious, you’ll never wake up again!” Su Enxi snapped harshly. “Think about your boyfriends, recite their names one by one, think of your moments together under the moon and flowers!”

Su Enxi had lost track of how many boyfriends Mai had—enough to film a whole 300 Spartans movie. Whenever Su Enxi called her outside of work, nine times out of ten, Mai was accompanied by some high-ranking boyfriend, either sunbathing on a private yacht in the Caribbean or skiing in the Alps. At social events, Mai was always escorted by some handsome, tall man, often an aristocratic descendant, celebrity, or famous designer. Su Enxi often complained that even though she was also beautiful, as long as Mai was present, no man ever paid attention to her. Mai was an ethereal beauty, seemingly born to captivate all, while Su Enxi merely stood as the “pretty girl from the business school” in comparison.

“Raymond Van Essoto… Alfonso Pedro… Hashimoto… Yūzō… Alain Baudouin…” Mai murmured, her eyelids heavy, nearly closing.

“Hey, hey! Isn’t that the painter we met in Paris? You hooked him too?” Su Enxi exclaimed in shock. “Damn! That last one you mentioned—wasn’t he a crown prince?”

“Shisham Jamal… Isaac Cassian… Barnes Falcon…” Blood poured from Mai’s mouth, her body now riddled with injuries.

“Alright, alright, keep going like that, you’re doing great… keep doing great. If this list ever got out, you’d be drowned in spit by fans of rock stars and famous athletes. As for European royalty and Saudi sheikhs, you might just be added to their assassination lists. Girl, even if you’re dating a prince, you shouldn’t date that many at once… Keep reciting, I’ll be right back!” Su Enxi threw on her robe and leaped away.

When Su Enxi returned to the hot spring with a medical kit, Mai had already lost consciousness. Her lips moved faintly, mumbling unclear names.

Su Enxi wrapped a rubber band around her own upper arm, causing the arteries to bulge out. She inserted one end of the blood transfusion tube into her own artery, and with the other needle, she attempted to pierce the vein in Mai’s neck. But as soon as the needle touched Mai’s skin, it snapped. Her skin was like porcelain—impossibly hard. The scaled areas were even more hopeless; everyone knew dragon scales were impervious to bullets.

“Damn it!” Su Enxi was on the verge of losing her temper. Her blood was the only thing that could counteract the ancient dragon serum, yet she couldn’t get even a drop into Mai’s body.

She pried open Mai’s lips. Her teeth were tightly clenched. No matter how hard Su Enxi tried, she couldn’t force them apart.

“Speak louder! Louder! Open your mouth and speak!” Su Enxi shook Mai violently.

Mai struggled to open her mouth a little wider, each time spilling more blood. Su Enxi faintly heard a name and froze. She leaned in closer, pressing her ear to Mai’s lips. There was no mistake—Mai was indeed repeating that one name, over and over again.

Su Enxi couldn’t help but find it ironic. Even though you have a thousand names in your mouth, it’s just to cover up the one that’s in your heart.

“You tsundere girl, you’ve worked hard,” Su Enxi sighed softly, gently stroking Mai’s hair.

She stuffed a towel into Mai’s mouth to prevent her from clenching her teeth and then inserted the blood transfusion needle into the artery on the roof of her mouth.

Su Enxi’s face gradually turned pale as she used her own blood to neutralize the ancient dragon serum. A few drops of her blood dripped onto Mai’s wounds through the transfusion tube, and where the blood made contact, wisps of white smoke rose as if from a violent chemical reaction. The same reaction was happening inside Mai’s body, causing immense pain. Her scales opened and closed as she let out a cry as agonizing as childbirth, her long, tempting legs twisting in pain like two tightly coiled pythons.

Mai’s body tensed up before finally relaxing completely. She had passed out—the pain had far exceeded the limits of human endurance.

“Hey, Long Legs?” Su Enxi gently shook her.

Mai didn’t respond, her wide-open amber-gold eyes staring blankly at the sky.

Su Enxi stood up and retrieved the Glock, pointing it at Mai’s forehead. Mai’s eyes, now golden with slits for pupils, flickered between confusion and ferocity. Everything depended on Mai’s luck now. Su Enxi waited for the result—if Mai woke up, she’d embrace her. If a Death Servitor woke up, she would pull the trigger. Mai would rather die than turn into a monster, and as her friend, Su Enxi was ready to help her fulfill that wish.

The sea breeze blew gently up the cliff, the garden was still littered with fallen flowers, the sound of waves echoed, and steam rose from the hot spring. It was the perfect time for reminiscing. Su Enxi thought about all the years she had worked with Mai, and suddenly she realized she had been quite the nag. It felt like she was always complaining about the trouble Mai and Zero caused her. Both of them acted without considering the consequences, and Su Enxi always had to clean up their messes. But if one day these two troublemakers were no longer around, what would she do? Without chaos-makers, the one left to clean up would surely feel lonely.

“Don’t die, Long Legs. If you’re fine, you can use the company jet however you want, and I won’t nag you about overspending anymore,” Su Enxi muttered, gently touching Mai’s blood-streaked face.
