Dragon Raja 3

She eyed Humpback Whale sideways, her mind weaving cutting remarks. Men in the host business were just cheap playthings who used their looks and charms to make a living. They might pretend that women’s flattery elevated them to some savior-like status, but in the end, it was all just a transaction of money and lust! And Humpback Whale was now too old to even trade on his looks anymore!

Fujiwara Kansuke quickly stepped in front of Humpback Whale, knowing exactly what kind of words would soon come from the fat lady’s mouth—words that could destroy the dignity Humpback Whale had built over decades.

The younger hosts were more aware of the reality than Humpback Whale. They knew that the so-called “Host Way” was just a romanticized version of their line of work, much like how Caesar would describe his host career as “a female psychological counselor.” But Caesar had no reason to feel ashamed of his past as a host; he only did it for novelty and to accomplish certain tasks. Once back in Italy, he would still be a wealthy nobleman who could spend money lavishly. But Humpback Whale was different—he was a true host, and the only thing he could brag about in his life was his masculine allure. If this kind lie was torn apart…

The hosts nervously stood around Humpback Whale, but their protection felt as flimsy as paper against the cold truth. The fat lady looked at these flashy men with disdain, seeing them as utterly beneath her. With power in hand, she was ready to metaphorically behead Humpback Whale.

Suddenly, the door burst open, and morning sunlight streamed into the dance hall. Caesar and Chu Zihang stood at the entrance, panting, their soaked shirts clinging to their bodies as water dripped from their hair.

Of all times, these two fools had chosen this life-or-death moment to come back.

“Yo, everyone’s still awake? Business must have been good last night,” Caesar waved, greeting them. He could barely make out the figures in the dimly lit dance hall, but it seemed crowded.

They had been hiding in the equipment room, evading the search. By morning, the police search team had arrived at Genji Heavy Industries, and the building had to be opened to them. The Yamata no Orochi clan had spent the entire night cleaning the scene—the bloodstained floors were washed with high-pressure hoses, and the corpses of the Death Servitors were thrown down the elevator shaft, followed by ice to prevent decay. The officers who rode the elevator to search Takashiro Juzaburo’s office had no idea the shaft below them was piled with bodies. Caesar and Chu Zihang had hidden in the trunk of a police car to escape Genji Heavy Industries. While the clan could lock down the building, they couldn’t search the police’s vehicles. So after much struggle, they finally made it back by morning.

Everyone silently stared at the two oblivious men. The fat lady was holding a knife, ready to slice up her fresh prey, and the prey had foolishly walked right back into her clutches.

“Shit!” Caesar blurted out as he recognized the fat lady’s face. After surviving a night of near-death experiences, he had completely forgotten about her.

Humpback Whale was horrified, thinking, Did you seriously just come back and call a client ‘shit’?

Chu Zihang elbowed Caesar in the side, signaling him not to let his true feelings slip at this critical moment.

Caesar quickly caught on and approached the fat lady, bowing gracefully. “How was your sleep last night? You’re looking much better this morning!”

“The guests drank too much and passed out. We stepped out to grab a bite,” Chu Zihang said, stumbling over his words.

His Japanese was the worst of the group, but that didn’t matter—his cool demeanor was all he needed to charm clients, so he hadn’t bothered investing much effort into the language.

Humpback Whale thought, Who would believe that? You guys are covered in blood! You look like you’ve slaughtered a hundred people! And that travel bag in your hand—it’s dripping blood!

It became clear to him that the bosses weren’t raising adorable little pets like cats and dogs; they were raising lions and tigers. Clearly, these girls from the underworld had a taste for training dangerous killers! Humpback Whale felt like his brain had swollen to the size of a whale’s.

“We ran into an injured person on the way back and took them to the hospital,” Chu Zihang said, expressionless.

He had realized that the travel bag was dripping blood—the blood of Death Servitors staining their weapons and coats inside. He wasn’t very good at lying, nor did he bother improving this particular skill. But not being good at lying didn’t matter when you could bluff. As long as you had a knife in hand, you could bluff your way through anything. And while he didn’t have a knife, the blood-dripping travel bag, paired with his stoic face, seemed to say, Don’t believe me? I’ll kill you.

Humpback Whale thought to himself, “Who would believe that? Couldn’t you just make up a more logical lie, like finding a dead cat or dog hit by a car on the street, and because you love animals, you decided to bring it back for a burial?”

“Ah! Ukyo, are you okay?” The fat woman’s face was full of concern. “Why would you help someone unrelated by the roadside? He could be part of the yakuza! Or maybe other bad guys, who knows? You might get involved, Ukyo!”

Her best friend pinched the fat woman hard from behind. The fat woman suddenly came to her senses, realizing she had to use reason to control her emotions in moments like this. She regained her angry demeanor and said, “You drugged the champagne! Do you even know what the punishment for drugging women is in Japan?”

“It was just a drug, we really didn’t assault anyone. What’s the punishment for drugging women in Japan?” Caesar replied with a serious face.

“We’ll see if the judge believes you!” the fat woman sneered. “People like you probably don’t even have legal identities. Even if it’s not sexual assault, you’ll still be deported!”

“Oh, great, I thought I’d have to commit seppuku or undergo chemical castration. Now I’m relieved,” Caesar smiled politely.

The fat woman was left speechless by his unbothered attitude, standing frozen for a few seconds before shouting like a slaughtered pig, “You scum! Do you even know who you’re talking to? Do you know who I am? How dare you talk to me like that? Don’t think of yourselves as anything more than toys to us! You’re no different from dogs! We spend money on you because you please us! When we call you ‘darling,’ do you actually think you are? If I don’t like a dog, I’d send it to a Korean restaurant to be made into dog meat hotpot! If we don’t like you…”

Whale trembled slightly, his face pale, but he maintained a stiff bow. Some of the hosts had faces flushed red, while others were deathly pale, all bowing deeply. They were hosts, after all, and their job was to serve customers, no matter how unreasonable their words were.

“When I buy a dog, it wags its tail and barks for me. I spend money on your time, and all you do is make me angry! When I’m angry, the consequences are serious…”
