Dragon Raja 3

Chu Zihang released his grip and rolled away. Caesar, using the strength of his waist, yanked Chisei backward, rolling with him toward the wall. Chisei, inexperienced with American wrestling, was slammed hard against the wall by Caesar. With Chisei’s bones and muscles, the dizziness was momentary, but Caesar seized the opportunity to lock his throat. His fists rained down like a storm on Chisei’s face. The flames on Caesar’s body began to spread to Chisei, and although Caesar’s Execution Bureau coat was made from fire-resistant material, the fire was growing increasingly uncontrollable.

Chu Zihang smashed open the corner fire extinguisher and rushed back with it, spraying Caesar and Chisei. Both were covered in white foam, yet they still refused to release each other, their Golden Eyes burning with fury, blood seeping from between their gritted teeth. Chu Zihang recalled Caesar’s anger that night. The wrath of the Gattuso family was as terrifying as the legends said—it was like divine punishment. Once the Gattuso family’s fury was ignited, it wouldn’t stop until their enemies were completely consumed.

Chu Zihang rushed forward, using the purple rope from the altar to bind Chisei. Then he grabbed Caesar’s wrist. “That’s enough! This isn’t the time for personal grudges!”

“Move aside!” Caesar roared, violently shaking Chu Zihang off.

Bound by the rope, Chisei used the force of his waist to spring up, delivering a flying kick to the back of Chu Zihang’s head. Chu Zihang had underestimated the Royal. Once Chisei recovered from his dizziness, his combat abilities returned instantly.

Caesar stepped forward with a heavy punch to Chisei’s abdomen. In his hand was the Desert Eagle, and he pressed it against Chisei, forcing him back.

Chisei was pushed against the mural wall, his body covered in blood. Caesar, continuing the punching motion, fired all seven bullets into Chisei’s abdomen. Chisei met Caesar’s gaze before slowly lowering his head and collapsing into the pool of blood.

“Caesar!” Chu Zihang cried out in shock.

“Stop shouting—it’s a Frigga tranquilizer magazine,” Caesar said, stumbling back as the magazine slid out of the gun’s handle, a thin wisp of white smoke rising from the barrel.

Chu Zihang rushed over to check Chisei’s wounds and discovered that his injuries were superficial. His skin had been burned by the muzzle flash, and his abdomen had only minor wounds, indeed caused by Frigga tranquilizer rounds.

Suddenly, Chisei’s eyes shot open! Chu Zihang, startled, raised his blade to Chisei’s throat, but Chisei didn’t attack. His bones made a faint cracking sound, and when Chu Zihang touched his wrist, he realized that Chisei’s rigid bones had loosened. Although seven rounds of Frigga tranquilizers hadn’t knocked him out, they had at least dispelled his powerful “dragon-bone state.”

“Worried I’d lose control and kill him?” Caesar asked, lighting a cigar from the burning curtain. It wasn’t exactly the right time for a smoke, but he had just defeated the strongest Hybrid in the world—he figured he deserved to celebrate.

“I was more worried you’d feel too guilty over what happened with Shin,” Chu Zihang replied as he continued checking Chisei’s pupils to gauge his condition. Chisei’s cold gaze clearly showed he was still conscious.

“If he were the one shooting, I would’ve used real bullets,” Caesar said coldly.

He crouched down in front of Chisei, staring directly into his eyes. “Didn’t expect this outcome, did you? Bloodline isn’t everything. Even the mighty emperor can be dragged off his throne. Isn’t that right, Super Hybrid Chisei?”

“You used to say some things are determined by fate, that who you are is defined by the blood running through your veins,” Chu Zihang said.

“I’ve heard the phrase ‘a pig-headed comrade’ when people talk about Chinese teammates. Now I believe it,” Caesar muttered with a bitter smile, sitting against the mural and panting heavily.

Chisei, however, wasn’t focused on Caesar. As the floor tilted, the bodies of the Execution Bureau officers rolled out from behind the mural. Chisei silently watched their pale faces, a brief flicker of sorrow passing through his eyes.

Caesar took a long drag of his cigar. He noticed Chisei’s expression—it didn’t seem like an act. Though Caesar still didn’t trust this dragon-blooded monster, something in Chisei’s gaze cooled his anger.

“Their deaths have nothing to do with me. When I arrived, there was already blood everywhere,” Caesar said, glancing at the curling flames consuming the mural.

“The fire is getting out of control. We should leave, no matter what,” Chu Zihang said. “I don’t know how long these aftershocks will last.”

“Let’s lift the lockdown first. We can talk about the rest once we’re out of this hellhole,” Caesar said, pointing his gun at Chisei’s forehead.

“I don’t have the authority to lift the lockdown. The system is still under Masamune’s control. You’d need his phone or access to Kaguya’s main server room.”

Caesar’s eyes brightened. “Take us to Kaguya’s main server room!”

“You won’t be able to get there. The server room is sealed 24/7. No one inside can come out, and no one outside can go in. I don’t have access—Masamune holds the passwords and keys.”

“Are you really the head of the Yamata no Orochi?” Caesar’s frustration flared up again, but this time, it was mixed with exasperation. “Are you just passing through for a quick job or something?”

“In a way, that’s not entirely wrong,” Chisei replied.

“Are you messing with me?” Caesar grabbed Chisei by the collar and roared.

“If we stay here any longer, I’ll burn to death too. Playing with you is like playing with myself at this point. I haven’t been the head of the family for long, and many of the permissions haven’t been transferred to me. I’ve never even been to Kaguya’s server room.”

“Then what’s the way out of this cursed place? Hurry up and tell us! We don’t have much time left—do you really want us all to die here, the great Super Hybrid buried along with me and Chu Zihang? Doesn’t that seem a little wasteful?” Caesar’s tone had changed since realizing there was someone with a stronger bloodline than his. Now, his words carried an air of reckless bravado, almost like a rogue.

“Elevator shaft,” Chisei replied with just these words.

Caesar and Chu Zihang exchanged a glance, then dragged Chisei toward the elevator shaft. The path Chisei had used to arrive was also their way out. For most people, scaling an elevator shaft in a high-rise building would be impossible, but for them, it was within the realm of possibility.

Chu Zihang peered down the shaft, seeing the steel framework stretching up and down endlessly. The deep, dark space reminded him of the Nibelungen beneath Beijing’s subway, disappearing into an unseen abyss.

Caesar bound Chisei’s body but left his hands free. “Climb yourself. If you try anything funny…”

He loaded a fresh magazine in front of Chisei, the bronze-colored bullets engraved with a cross pattern.

These were mercury-core blunt armor-piercing rounds, specifically developed by Cassell College to combat dragons. Against any third-generation and below, they were lethal weapons. These bullets could pierce dragon scales, and when they hit dragon bones, the cross pattern would split, releasing liquid mercury—deadly poison to dragons. Caesar had a rough understanding of Chisei’s abilities. Though his speed and strength were top-tier, his body’s durability still fell short of a true dragon, especially now that he had deactivated his “dragon-bone state.” For Chisei, a single mercury-core armor-piercing round would be fatal.

Chisei glanced at his watch. More than two minutes had passed, but no one from the Execution Bureau had rushed into the mural hall, and the lockdown hadn’t been lifted. Masamune was usually punctual—had something else happened?

He leaned over to look down the shaft, expecting Masamune to be waiting on one of the beams below. The broken high-voltage cable wasn’t sparking anymore, and the elevator shaft was pitch black. Then, silently, a bronze hand emerged from the darkness, reaching along the ground toward Chu Zihang’s ankle.
