Dragon Raja 3

Lu Mingfei thought to himself, You just figured out they’re rivals? These two were once competing with Desert Eagles and Uzis—things got bloody back then. Competing for sales at a host club is just a playful warm-up.

Not far away, Basara King was shirtless, playing dice with his guests. The rule was simple: if you lost, you either drank a full glass of strong liquor or removed an article of clothing. Normally, with Caesar’s drinking capacity, he could easily dominate. But tonight, the guests had come prepared—they wore double layers of skirts, stockings, and shirts, leaving Caesar somewhat cornered.

“Boss, are you holding up?” Lu Mingfei called to Caesar in Chinese.

“Still going strong!” Caesar replied, pushing aside a woman draped across his lap. “I’ll have these pigs passed out in no time!”

Meanwhile, Chu Zihang sat with a stony expression, not touching a drop of alcohol. The woman and her friends clung to him, rubbing against him every chance they got. Whenever Chu Zihang showed signs of impatience, they would coyly wiggle their shoulders as if saying, “Come on, hit me, I dare you.”

“Sakura! Come help change the set! We’re swamped back here!” The stage manager was waving at Lu Mingfei from the sidelines.

“Sakura! Get an ice bucket for the guests!” A waiter rushed by, delivering drinks. “I’m drowning in orders!”

“Sakura! Clean up the broken glass on the floor!” someone else called out.

Lu Mingfei scrambled back and forth, tackling one task after another. As the stage performances wrapped up, the night shifted into drunken revelry and disco dancing. Laser lights painted every figure in seductive curves and dreamy silhouettes. Darting between the crowds, Lu Mingfei couldn’t help but feel like a stray dog.

He had been working at Takamagahara for a week now, starting as a trainee host and gradually becoming a waiter.

It wasn’t that Humpback Whale didn’t look out for him; when asked about his talents, Lu Mingfei hesitated for a long time before sheepishly admitting, “I’m pretty confident in my StarCraft skills…” That nearly made Humpback Whale spit blood. Realizing that talent wasn’t his strong suit, Humpback Whale resorted to using Lu Mingfei’s appearance, dressing him in a sheer Roman toga for a stage play where Caesar was the lead. His role was that of a flirtatious messenger boy, a character with no lines or acting requirements. He just had to run across the stage in sheer fabric. But feeling embarrassed, Lu Mingfei wore blue floral boxers underneath, creating a suggestive effect that caused the audience to burst out laughing.

As for serving drinks, tonight’s experience was pretty typical. The kindest treatment he’d received was from a lawyer, who had politely informed Humpback Whale, “You really shouldn’t use child labor.”

So far, Lu Mingfei had earned only one “flower ticket,” a pity purchase from the sympathetic lawyer.

But Lu Mingfei wasn’t discouraged. He was used to not being the center of attention, though he did worry that he wouldn’t earn the 800 tickets needed to avoid being kicked out next week.

He had just finished emptying the trash in the V3 booth when a waiter hurried over. “Quick! Go to the third-floor Summer Moon Room! A group of guests booked a large private room. Basara King and Ukyo are already there, but they need more staff. Get over there now!”

Lu Mingfei was confused. How did such a prestigious opportunity fall into his lap? The third floor housed several luxurious private rooms reserved for high-spending clients. A night there required dropping at least a few million yen. Many guests booked these rooms to show support for their favorite hosts, with the high tab boosting the host’s ranking in the club. Even a popular host like Fujiwara Kankuro, the former sumo champ turned charming heartthrob, only managed to be called to the private rooms once a week. As for Lu Mingfei, a rookie ranked at the bottom, he hadn’t even been stationed outside a private room to serve yet.

He figured it must be his brothers looking out for him, trying to help him get more visibility so he could stick around. Still… What if the guests in the private room go completely wild? The thought sent a shiver down his spine.

“Hello, I’m Sakura, here to serve. May I come in?” Lu Mingfei knocked cautiously, as deafening music blared from inside.

“Damn it! Get in here and help! I’m dying in here!” Caesar growled from within.

Lu Mingfei thought, Seriously, boss? You’re just drinking and singing. How could you be ‘dying’? Or are you secretly doing something physically exhausting? His mind was swirling with worry and dread as he forced a smile and gritted his teeth, pushing the door open.

“Ahhhhhh! Is this a murder scene?! Please, let me pretend I didn’t see anything and leave!” Lu Mingfei raised his hands above his head and screamed.

Women lay sprawled across the floor, their clothes disheveled, revealing far too much. Caesar and Chu Zihang were drenched in sweat, dragging the “bodies.” Caesar was struggling to pull the 200-pound woman, clearly exhausted from the effort.

“Stop yelling and come help us!” Caesar straightened up, gasping for breath.

“What is this? Did you psychos kill them before or after… something else?” Lu Mingfei grumbled as he picked up one of the lighter women and placed her on a sofa. “Calling me just to clean up bodies is a bit much, don’t you think?”

The women hiccupped and made contented noises. They were only drunk—Caesar and Chu Zihang had out-drunk over a dozen guests. Clearly, they had spiked the drinks with something.

“Strong sleeping pills, mixed with hard liquor. They’ll be out cold until tomorrow morning,” Caesar said, shaking a small vial. “I told you I’d get them all passed out.”

“We have about eight hours until morning. Plenty of time to make a round trip to Genji Heavy Industries,” Chu Zihang added while adjusting a guest’s dress. “We ordered enough champagne before we came in, so no waiters will come to check. These women were already drunk when they arrived, so they won’t remember a thing about tonight.”

“Wait, what? We’re going to Genji Heavy Industries? Why?” Lu Mingfei’s scalp tingled at the thought. Sneaking into the Tokyo headquarters of a crime syndicate—this was either a death wish or, well, a death wish!

“We’re going to uncover whatever dark secrets are hidden in the heart of the Yamata no Orochi family, and maybe blow some things up while we’re at it,” Caesar said as he lit a cigar, the flame casting eerie shadows on his face, still adorned with stage makeup.

“There’s 15 pounds of C4 in the gear box. Think that’ll be enough?” Chu Zihang pulled out packs of C4, which looked like greenish modeling clay.

These malleable packs of C4 could be shaped any way you wanted, making them perfect for covert operations. Convenient, simple to use—the go-to explosive for terrorists worldwide.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Why are you pulling out explosives? We’re turning into the kind of people who end up on wanted posters!” Lu Mingfei exclaimed in panic.
