“The technical department of the Japan branch is also highly reliable. This submersible is just a small thing; they can figure it out with a bit of study. Plus, we’ve written a complete technical manual for them. Let them refer to the manual.” Director Arkadura took a brick-thick manual from one of his subordinates and placed it into Anjou’s hands. “If there are any issues, let Miyamoto Shio, the head of the Ganryū Research Institute, contact us by phone. We’re all available 24/7.”

“For the sake of safety, it would be better to send a technical representative along. If Director Arkadura and Deputy Director Karl are unavailable, Researcher Mathur could go,” Anjou said, holding the technical manual in one hand and refusing to release his grip on Arkadura’s hand with the other.

“But the Japan branch… They’re a bunch of freaks!” Director Arkadura looked uneasy. “Working with freaks shortens one’s lifespan.”

“Are they really that bad?”

“We’d rather have meetings with you, Principal, than work with the Japan branch.”

“Hey, is that comparison really alright?”

“May Allah bless you, take down that evil dragon!” Director Arkadura, unable to break free, lunged forward to kiss Anjou. Shocked, Anjou pulled away, releasing his hand instinctively. With this victory, Arkadura quickly slipped away.

“God be with you, take down that evil dragon!” Deputy Director Carl was the next to lunge forward.

“May Vishnu’s power protect you and bring you success.” Researcher Mathur.

“Amitabha, karma brings retribution for good and evil. Take care of yourself, Principal, and take down that evil dragon.”

“Hey, hey, that doesn’t sound like a blessing!” Anjou screamed internally, pushing away the embracing man.

“May the great Ahura Mazda grant you wisdom, take down that evil dragon!”

“Why are there even Zoroastrians in the Gear Department?” Anjou was startled.

After a series of swift and loud kisses, the entire Gear Department staff vanished from Anjou’s sight, leaving him alone in the empty hallway, holding the brick-like technical manual. The elevator had yet to come down from the surface.

Anjou sighed. Even the madmen of the Gear Department were unwilling to cooperate with the Japan branch, which showed just how poor their reputation was within the college. It wasn’t surprising, though. In Cassell College, the Japan branch felt like a black hole. No one knew what was inside, but approaching the black hole, one could feel the stench of blood emanating from the raging winds within.
