“Senior, I have a silly question…” Lu Mingfei lifted his head.

“I was wondering… I was wondering… if one day I got forgotten by the world… would anyone come looking for me?” Lu Mingfei stammered.

As soon as he asked, he wanted to slap himself. This question was even more pathetic than the last one. Translated, it practically meant: “Senior, please comfort me, tell me you’d search the world for me, tell me I won’t be left all alone.” It was pitiful and inappropriate. Why would anyone have an obligation to search for him if he went missing? What a ridiculous question—how was she supposed to answer without making things awkward?

Without missing a beat, Nono said, “Why don’t you ask your good buddy Finger? He’d definitely look for you. Without you, he wouldn’t even have anyone to drink and brag with.”

Lu Mingfei, who had been mortified, let out a long sigh of relief.

“You could also ask the headmaster lying in the life-support pod. He likes you so much, he’d probably hand the whole college over to you. Don’t you know some people call you the Cassell Prince?”

Lu Mingfei thought to himself, Wow! Senior is amazing! She defused that awkward situation like it was nothing!

“Caesar might have gone looking for you too, but that depends on his mood now. Still, you have a bunch of good brothers in the Student Union, don’t you?”

Lu Mingfei felt the topic had passed, and just as he was about to say something else, he noticed Nono had turned to look at him seriously. “If none of them can find you, then I’ll have to go myself. Don’t worry, no matter where you end up, I’ll find you. Whether you’re alive or dead, I’ll bring you back. When I took you under my wing as a lackey, I said I’d protect you. You can joke about a lot of things, but not that. When I make a promise, I keep it.” Her voice was low but clear, and her deep red eyes held no sadness or joy, like a vast, calm lake.

Lu Mingfei stared blankly at her. As she spoke those words, it was as if the girl who descended like an angel, bearing swords, had returned—even if she was dressed in a cheap, childish JK uniform.

Nono patted his shoulder. “You’ve made it to Student Union President, but you still look like a loser. The Student Union President is supposed to be the fiercest, toughest guy in the school, but you’re still the rabbit that got wiped with the bear’s butt.”

There was a faint, warm scent coming from her, slightly fermented. It wasn’t particularly pleasant, but being enveloped by it, Lu Mingfei’s heart suddenly calmed, and his fears and worries silently faded away.

“If you ever got lost, Senior, I’d search the whole world for you too,” Lu Mingfei said softly. “Alive or dead, I’d bring you back. If I couldn’t find you, I wouldn’t return home.”

Nono glanced at him. “Are you trying to compete with me on loyalty? If I ever really did get lost, would it be your place to come looking for me?”

Lu Mingfei immediately lowered his head, thinking, Of course, of course. If Nono got lost, Caesar would be the one to find her. Even if some dragon kidnapped the princess, the Gattuso family would blow the dragon’s lair to smithereens.

“The Student Union President has important duties. If you need to find me, just send Isabella,” Nono laughed heartily.
