Dragon Raja

“Then I’m the perfect one to execute it. I always leave…” The person on the turret said coldly, “…a lasting impression.”

He suddenly jumped over the railing of the turret, spreading his arms as he dove. The turret was eight meters high; for an ordinary person, the spine would snap from the impact, but he rolled lightly upon landing, crouched like a panther, and disappeared into the darkness.

In the library’s control room, Manstein and Guderian hurriedly pushed the door open. Professor von Schneider stood in front of the large screen, watching the myriad dots of light, each representing a student participating in the alert.

“Dragon Raja invasion? What’s going on? Who determined it was a Dragon Clan invasion?” Manstein’s expression was tense.

He had thought a “Dragon Clan invasion” was something that only appeared in theory. For over a hundred years, every Dragon that was about to awaken had been taken down before emerging from their tombs. Since when did these guys get bold enough to rampage at the headquarters, and in groups, no less? It was beyond imagination.

“It was Norma. I don’t have sufficient clearance to know why Norma determined this to be a Dragon Raja invasion, but the intruders have undoubtedly appeared.” Schneider pulled up footage of the motorcycles entering the campus on the large screen.

He turned and, seeing Guderian, paused for a moment, then grew angry. “What are you wearing?”

Guderian looked at himself and said, “Combat gear… although I know I’m not much use in a fight.”

He had gone to bed early and had been awakened abruptly, but he hadn’t forgotten the emergency protocols. He had taken his old combat suit out of the wardrobe, which he hadn’t worn in years, and struggled to load Freyja rounds into the magazine. He had almost forgotten how to chamber a round in his pistol.

“But you’re wearing a nightcap!”

“Oh, right.” Guderian sheepishly took off the red nightcap, making him look less like Santa Claus.

“Could it be a false alarm by Norma?” Manstein asked. “There are about ten intruders. What’s the point of such a small-scale invasion? Destruction? A demonstration?”

“My guess is that they’re after something,” Schneider said in a low voice.

“Something?” Manstein frowned. “If you mean valuable things, there are many antiques in this college that could fetch a high price at an auction. In terms of value, everything in the ‘Ice Cellar’ could be considered priceless. What are you referring to?”

“In comparison to that, everything else is insignificant. I mean…” Schneider looked into Manstein’s eyes. “The item the Principal brought back from China!”

“The Principal is back?” Guderian was stunned. “I wasn’t notified.”

“He didn’t notify anyone. But half an hour ago, a helicopter landed in the hangar, and an hour ago, the CC1000 train added an extra run and arrived at the station. Only the Principal has the authority to add a train without notifying me,” Schneider explained. “And there’s also a very simple piece of evidence that can be checked from a freshman’s email inbox.”

Schneider logged into the student mailbox group with an “A”-level authority. Inside was a mass email: “Dear students, I am very happy to have returned alive from China. The good news is that we had a huge success there. The bad news is, for those of you taking my course, please be aware that all three of my classes next week will take attendance.

Good luck.

Your loyal friend, Angers

P.S. I am considering whether to conduct a test before the class and count it toward your final grade.”

“This email was sent to the freshmen enrolled in his course half an hour ago,” Schneider said.

“What he brought back from China was… the Dragon King Norton’s ossuary,” Manstein said. “Then it makes sense. The ossuary was delivered half an hour ago, and an invasion followed immediately.”

“Where is that thing now?” Guderian asked.

“It must be in the most heavily guarded place—the ‘Ice Cellar.’ So our defensive focus is on the underground level,” Schneider said.

Manstein nodded. “The three main entrances: Valhalla, the chapel, and the library. The library has Norma’s defense system, but Valhalla and the chapel are at risk. How many can the Execution Bureau deploy?”

“Very few. Since the establishment of the school, there has never been an invasion of the campus, so most of the Execution Bureau agents are on overseas search missions. We have to rely on the students now—the well-trained ones with superior bloodlines are our main force. Caesar Gattuso is leading the Student Council to guard Valhalla, and Chu Zihang is leading the Lionheart Society to guard the chapel,” Schneider said. “Because of their bloodline, their real strength already surpasses most of the Execution Bureau’s agents.”

“That’s all we can do,” Manstein said. “Can we reach the Principal?”

“I’ve tried his phone, but it’s off. Sometimes he can be really troublesome—bringing something of this level back to campus without notifying anyone, no time to prepare security, yet he sends an email about class schedules,” Schneider shook his head.

“That makes him a true educator, after all,” Guderian said.

“Hey, hey, is anyone going to escort me back to my dorm?” Lu Mingfei looked around nervously. “Any of you armed guys willing to walk me back? It’s a long way, and those guys have guns!”

No one paid him any attention. Students hurriedly passed by Amber Hall, each group having a leader organizing the defenses in their designated areas. Sniper rifles were set up in high positions, and teams spread out quickly, occupying advantageous spots. Flashlights flickered in every direction.

Lu Mingfei was hopping around anxiously in front of Amber Hall.

“Just walk back by yourself,” someone said from behind him. “No one’s going to eat you, but if you act like this as an S-Rank, people will look down on you.”

Lu Mingfei turned around to see Nono standing in the light behind him, her hands crossed in front of her, leaning against a pillar.
