Dragon Raja; Chapter 115: Big Brother (12)

Dragon Raja

The principal noticed Lu Mingfei looking at the knife. “This is my weapon. My friend, Manecke Cassell, made it for me from his broken sword. It works quite well.”

He turned and went downstairs. “Watch my performance in a bit—the rest is up to you, Lu Mingfei.”

Lao Tang was running across the lawn, desperate to leave this damn place. He felt a bit guilty; just now, the fear had been too much—the footsteps seemed to echo in his mind, and he didn’t believe hiding in the water would work, so he had quietly slipped out.

He felt bad for Lu Mingfei, but the fear was just too overwhelming.

“Don’t run! Don’t run!” Finger was chasing after him from afar. “You can’t escape like this, he…”

Finger turned and looked up at the top of Valhalla, unable to speak out of sheer terror. Clearly, the dragon had detected their location. His entire skeleton emitted deafening cracks, and the skin on his back tore open. A pair of membrane wings, originally folded against his back, suddenly unfurled, dripping with fresh blood.

With such an aerial advantage, catching them would be far too easy.

The principal appeared on the lawn. He crouched down like a leopard, gathering all his strength in his legs. The draconic chant echoed across the campus, and the dragon above looked down at the old man.

Everyone could feel the old man’s “spirit” instantly expand in the darkness.

Yanling, “Word Spirit”: Eternity.

Lu Mingfei suddenly noticed something unbelievable. Time seemed to slow down across the entire campus—the running students, the dragon unfurling its wings, even the swaying of leaves in the wind and the flickering of flames—all slowed. The dragon in the crosshair slowly blinked. Only he and the principal remained unaffected. The principal moved swiftly like a leopard, crossing the lawn and scaling the fire escape to reach the rooftop of Valhalla. Even the best Navy SEAL or ancient Chinese martial artist couldn’t do any better.

The principal approached the dragon, armed only with that folding knife.

“Lu Mingfei!” the principal’s voice boomed in the air.

Lu Mingfei had to focus all his attention on the scope, tracking the principal’s movement. The principal would guide him to the target. At this moment, the image of the dragon slayer reappeared on the elderly figure—those who, in the age before science, relied on lineage, courage, and sacrifice to overcome the limitations of being human.

Around the dragon, the blazing flames shot out, albeit many times slower, as if in slow motion. The principal cut through the flames, and in an instant, he was close—swinging his folding knife, spinning his body.

The dragon’s two arms fell, and he hadn’t even reacted yet. He stared blankly ahead, seemingly unaware that the principal had already moved behind him.

His forehead split open at the center—this was where the principal had vertically cut with the folding knife. A scarlet-gold eye burst out from the wound, slowly rotating.

The third dragon eye, his weak point—this was the perfect opportunity the principal had created for Lu Mingfei. He suddenly understood: there had been no unnecessary moves—cutting off both arms so that the dragon couldn’t cover himself.

In his scope, he saw the dragon’s face clearly.

His hands trembled slightly—it was really the face of the child he had seen at the pool. After evaporating a massive amount of water, the dragon had revealed his true appearance. He looked just like a lost child… “I’m not looking for you,” the boy had said, as if they had known each other.

At the last moment, Lu Mingfei slightly adjusted the scope off target and pulled the trigger.

The bullet made from the Philosopher’s Stone slowly left the barrel, at a speed that Lu Mingfei could see with the naked eye. At this moment, nothing could change what was going to happen. He stood straight, put down the sniper rifle, and watched the bullet leisurely travel through the air.

It was a strange feeling.

Hit! The dragon eye burst with scorching blood as the dragon clutched his forehead, letting out a hoarse roar.

“What made you hesitate, Lu Mingfei?” the principal turned and looked at the high place on the church.

The dragon flapped his wings, leaving the rooftop of Valhalla and swooping down toward Lao Tang. Seeing the shadow enveloping him, Lao Tang fell to the ground in shock.

“Switch to live ammo!” the principal’s voice echoed through the communication channel of every student.

They had no time to think, nor did they need to. The principal was the absolute leader of this campus. Hundreds of guns were loaded with live ammunition, aimed at the dragon gliding through the dark night. They didn’t even notice Lao Tang in the darkness.

The dragon landed in front of Lao Tang. Behind him, hundreds of bullets slid into the chambers, firing pins striking the primers.

He realized what was about to happen. Suddenly, he spread his wings, like a giant shield, wrapping around Lao Tang.

Gunfire lit up the dark campus as thousands of rounds hit the dragon’s body. He had lost the power to command metal with his Yanling and could only use his back and wings to shield himself. The students kept changing magazines, emptying all of them—they dared not stop. In such a fierce barrage, the dragon remained standing, never falling.

What kind of monstrous vitality was this?

The last bullet was fired, the campus filled with the pungent smell of gunpowder. Everyone watched the figure, god-like, standing with wings spread.

Lao Tang looked too—looked at his face. The dragon was tattered, like a decaying corpse nailed to a cross, riddled with countless transparent bullet holes. Though dragon bones were flexible, without Yanling power, they were just a good material. Every bone and joint in the outspread wings was shattered to dust, falling piece by piece.

He no longer glowed; his color turned to a dull gray-white. He looked at Lao Tang and smiled wearily, “Brother…”

“No… don’t come to me! I don’t know you!” Lao Tang screamed and turned to run away. Behind him, the dragon’s body collapsed.
