Dragon Raja

“You already borrowed my boyfriend’s Harley.” Nono said. At the moment of the crash, she recognized the bike flying over was Caesar’s favorite motorcycle.

Lao Tang looked Lu Mingfei up and down. “Underestimated you. I didn’t think you’d find a pretty girl right after going abroad. And not just a Bugatti Veyron but a Harley too! What kind of world is this?”

“I also want to ask what kind of world this is?” Lu Mingfei said, raising both hands. “Take the car. You don’t need to return it!”

“I still need to borrow you and your fiery girl as hostages!” Lao Tang dragged Lu Mingfei into the Bugatti.

“Drive!” he turned and shouted at Nono.

“Lao Tang, what are you planning? Show some courtesy, won’t you?” Lu Mingfei shouted.

“Stop talking! Just play along; I’ll let you go after we get off the mountain,” Lao Tang said quietly, then shouted at the approaching pursuers, “If you come any closer, I’ll kill him!”

He tried his best to put on a ferocious expression. His friendly face had always been his downfall—people usually thought he was joking when he was threatening them. But this time, he felt his intimidation work. The Gothic girls in white dresses carrying guns suddenly froze, their expressions rigid, slowly retreating.

“Hey, what’s with those expressions? Are they… seeing a ghost?” Lao Tang was a bit surprised.

The effect was good—too good, in fact.

It was then that he felt the hot wind coming from behind, as if a sun had risen behind him. He looked nervously at Nono—her long hair was blown forward by the hot wind.

All three of them found it difficult to breathe. The girls weren’t afraid of Lao Tang; they were scared of something… behind them.

The immense pressure was almost unbearable.

Lao Tang didn’t dare look back—it was like there was a wolf behind him, and if he looked back, it would bite his throat. He poked Lu Mingfei in the side. “Turn around and take a look.”

“Don’t be stupid. If you’re such a hero, why don’t you look back yourself instead of telling me to?” Lu Mingfei shivered.

“No need to turn around,” Nono’s voice trembled, “look in the rearview mirror.”

In the rearview mirror, on the engine cover of the rear-mounted engine of the Bugatti, stood a burning figure. The figure had spread its arms and was slowly leaning forward, as if about to kiss either Lao Tang or Lu Mingfei.

His face became clearer in the rearview mirror, his pupils blazing, radiating a brilliant golden light. Cracks appeared on his face as if it were the surface of the earth, with lava flowing through the fissures. It was an extremely terrifying face, slowly breaking into an extremely terrifying expression.

“Brother,” he said softly.

“A ghost!” Lu Mingfei and Lao Tang hugged each other, screaming so loudly they could have fit a pineapple in their mouths.

“All units take cover! All units take cover!” Professor Schneider’s voice roared through the campus broadcast system.

Amidst the shouting, the burning figure passed by a high-voltage transformer, and the metal casing of the transformer instantly melted. Brilliant electrical sparks shot up like a fountain, reaching a man’s height, before the explosion turned the surrounding lawn into scorched earth.

Gunfire roared like thunder as a dense barrage of bullets came at him from both sides. The students, trained for combat, were hiding behind buildings on both sides of the lawn, performing perfect crossfire. Both groups were equipped with the M4 rifle family, firing 5.56mm steel-core bullets at a rate of 900 rounds per minute. They emptied their magazines in seconds and immediately replaced them to continue shooting. The failure of the previous rounds of shooting meant that this time the person in charge wasn’t holding back—Lancelot, the vice president of the Lionheart Society and a third-year student from France, was commanding this ambush.

Not a single bullet hit the figure. About two meters away from him, the bullets began to melt, as if there were an invisible layer of dark fire around him. Scorching molten steel flowed quickly over that barrier, accumulating more and more, the bullets crashing into it like moths flying to a flame.

With a dull explosion, dozens of trails of smoke shot toward the figure. They had used 40mm grenades from the M4 family, the kind that could destroy an infantry fighting vehicle with a direct hit.

The figure didn’t move, but the molten steel revolving around him did. The steel splashed, intercepting all the grenades mid-air, and the explosion’s force dissipated outward.

Lancelot’s face was illuminated by the flames, twitching slightly.

“President, bullets and grenades are useless against him,” he said into his phone.

Inside the ruined church, Chu Zihang stared at his opponent from a distance. Even after using their “King’s Blaze” Yanlings against each other, both remained unscathed.

“Lancelot, retreat! If he can command metal and flame, then he’s a descendant of Norton, the King of Bronze and Fire. Retreat before he uses ‘King’s Blaze’!” Chu Zihang ended the call.

“Was this your plan?” Chu Zihang asked.

“If it were our plan, I wouldn’t have given you time to answer the phone.” The three-no-girl’s voice remained calm. Even after clashing against Chu Zihang’s high-risk Yanling, she didn’t need to catch her breath.

“An unexpected situation? I believe you,” Chu Zihang said.

“Believe me?”

“I’m not like Caesar. I know what “three-no’s” truly means—no words, no heart, no expression. You’re someone without a heart, it’s too bothersome for you to lie.”

“Well then, until our next duel.” The three-no-girl turned and walked away.

“Looking forward to it.”

The deep chant echoed across the lawn, and the burning smell in the air grew stronger. Above the figure’s head, the air seemed to ignite.

A force beyond human comprehension condensed there, and everyone could feel the pressure.

“All units take cover!” Schneider and Lancelot shouted simultaneously.
