“I thought the principal would be some old, uptight man, but here he is eating mint-flavored ice cream? Mint is super trendy! It’s the newest flavor!” Xia Mi held onto Anjou’s arm, skipping along.

“I actually prefer lemon, but as people get older, we often regret that there are fewer new things to experience in life. So, I chose the trendiest flavor to try,” Anjou said, smiling happily. “Ah, walking with a beautiful girl makes me feel much younger—my veins are flowing with passion!”

“Stop spouting nonsense! It’s not passion, but the long-dormant male hormones of an old man!” Lu Mingfei followed ten meters behind, muttering to himself.

Anjou, arm in arm with Xia Mi, walked ahead. Anjou was eating mint-flavored snow ice cream, Xia Mi had strawberry-topped ice cream, and the two of them seemed inexplicably harmonious, like a pair of grandparents and grandchild. They completely forgot about the two “third wheels” behind them—even when buying ice cream, they forgot about Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang’s share.

“Senior! You’re guarding and stealing at the same time!” Lu Mingfei nudged Chu Zihang with his shoulder. “I’m really not trying to stir up trouble, but if I were you, I couldn’t tolerate that old guy blatantly stealing my girl!”

He felt a little disappointed. It was rare to find such a stunning junior sister, but after spending $100 million, she was seduced away by his expressionless senior brother. However, he also accepted it. No matter how he looked at it, Chu Zihang and Xia Mi were a perfect match. Their appearance, temperament, and academic speaking style were both excellent.

“What does it have to do with me?” Chu Zihang said, keeping a straight face.

A strong gust of wind blew from behind them, accompanied by a rumbling vibration. The ensuing screams almost pierced their eardrums.

Above their heads, the iron-black steel track twisted upward like a giant serpent, soaring steeply to about the 50th floor before plunging down. A roller coaster, filled with screaming tourists, reached the highest point, its speed dropping to almost nothing, only to face a steep vertical drop ahead. The tourists held their breath, too terrified to scream, staring at the drop approaching, like people waiting for a guillotine to fall.

“That’s ‘The Serpent of the Atrium,’ the world’s most thrilling roller coaster—150 meters high, with a maximum speed of 250 km/h,” Anjou said.

The roller coaster plunged down the track as if in free fall. Screams swept through the amusement park again, scaring a pigeon mid-flight so much that its wings trembled, almost causing it to crash.

Lu Mingfei shivered. He saw Xia Mi jump up in excitement, pointing to the sky.

“She can’t be serious, can she? Girls aren’t supposed to like roller coasters! You all prefer stuff like Snow White’s Castle, right? You just need to cuddle up to Mickey Mouse for a photo to be satisfied, right?” Lu Mingfei shouted inwardly like he was chanting a spell.

“Let’s ride that one!” Xia Mi said, excited.

Lu Mingfei looked at Anjou for help. As a 130-year-old man, his heart surely wasn’t that strong… Your life goal is to travel the world and defeat all the Dragon Kings, right? You don’t want to die of a heart attack on a roller coaster before achieving that goal, right? Stand up bravely and rebuke this crazy girl! Tell her we should be going to Snow White’s Castle instead!

“Oh! This is gonna be great!” Anjou said, rubbing his hands together eagerly. “I’m excited!”

“Are you out of your mind? Aren’t you worried about your heart giving out up there?” Lu Mingfei could barely breathe.

“Principal, you’re so awesome!” Xia Mi said, leaning her head on Anjou’s shoulder.

Lu Mingfei instinctively wanted to take a step back, but he forced himself not to. Sure, the roller coaster looked terrifying, but… chickening out in front of a beautiful junior sister would be a lifelong shame! He suddenly felt that Chu Zihang was one step behind him, and when he turned, he saw his expressionless senior staring at the massive steel structure, his face twitching slightly.

“Could it be that…” Lu Mingfei paused, feeling a bit of joy.

“First senior, second senior, let’s all go together!” Xia Mi called out.

Xia Mi and Anjou had already rushed to the end of the long queue. They seemed so excited that they barely bothered to look at the others, only calling out to them out of courtesy.

“Senior, I saw your face twitch,” Lu Mingfei said, lowering his voice.

“I might get motion sick,” Chu Zihang whispered.

“Come on, scared is scared. There’s nothing wrong with admitting it. Even if it’s embarrassing, it won’t kill you. Senior, if you just admit you actually prefer Snow White’s Castle, we can all go there together… If we force ourselves, no one will enjoy this!” Lu Mingfei said darkly, trying to reason with him.

“My favorite attraction is actually ‘Winnie the Pooh and Friends.’”

“Hurry up, guys!” Xia Mi waved at them from a distance.

“Coming!” Lu Mingfei instinctively smiled and replied, then immediately regretted it, feeling like slapping himself.

“Don’t be dumb. Pooh and Snow White can’t save us now,” Chu Zihang said quietly.

Lu Mingfei fastened his safety belt and glanced at Chu Zihang sitting next to him. Chu Zihang was clutching the shoulder grips, his face pale, staring straight ahead, like a student being punished by a teacher for making a mistake. Anjou and Xia Mi had taken the front row to enjoy the thrill of diving headfirst into the wind. The two of them were as enthusiastic and eager as ever.

The acceleration tunnel was pitch dark, with red lights flashing along the track, which inexplicably intensified the tension. A staff member checked everyone’s safety harness. “Please keep your head against the headrest to prevent neck strain due to excessive acceleration.”

They shouldn’t have said anything at all! Mentioning neck strain so nonchalantly… It felt like an executioner gently telling you to relax your muscles before the blade fell, or else things might get messy. Lu Mingfei’s heart pounded like a hundred Shaanxi drummers beating gongs. He knew Chu Zihang felt the same way. He wished for a Yanling like “Star Platinum” to cut the next minute out of time. In the blink of an eye, the roller coaster would already be at the finish line, and he could calmly get up and say, “That was fun; I’d love to go again, but the queue’s too long. Let’s go check out Snow White’s Castle instead…”

The staff disappeared into the darkness, and a dangerous alarm echoed through the tunnel. The red lights suddenly started flashing ten times faster. Adrenaline surged.

Suddenly, all the red lights went out! The alarm stopped! There was one second of suffocating silence.
