Dragon Raja 2

Above their heads, the iron-black steel tracks twisted like a giant serpent, ascending sharply into the sky about fifty stories high before plunging steeply down. A roller coaster, accompanied by the screams of its passengers, ascended to the highest point, its speed dropping to a minimum, while a cliff-like drop awaited it ahead. The passengers held their breath, too scared to scream, watching the impending descent, like people waiting for the guillotine blade to fall.

“This is ‘Atrium Serpent,’ the most thrilling roller coaster in the world. It’s 150 meters high and reaches a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour,” Anjou said.

Chu Zihang looked at the amusement park below, bathed in sunlight—Six Flags Roller Coaster Park. This amusement park, which boasted the thrill of excitement, was full of roller coasters. Steel cars raced across the sky on crisscrossing tracks, accompanied by constant screams. But Chu Zihang was sitting on perhaps the least thrilling thing in the park—the Ferris wheel. This slow-moving ride took fifteen minutes just to bring Chu Zihang and his companion’s double cabin to the top, from where he could see the mountains shaped as beautifully as a girl’s curves.

“Now, it’s time for your initiation training.” Chu Zihang withdrew his gaze, his expression serious.

“But, senior… we’re on a Ferris wheel right now!” Xia Mi’s eyes widened in surprise, like an Ultraman on patrol suddenly encountering a tiny monster. A strand of her long, soft bangs swung before her bright eyes.

“Yes, I specifically chose the Ferris wheel. Our initiation training needs to be done away from the crowds. This is a two-person cabin, suspended fifty meters above the ground, and we’ll stay here for ten minutes—enough time for me to complete the training.”

Xia Mi covered her face. “I thought you finally opened up because of my beauty… Hey! Do you know what it means to take a girl on a Ferris wheel?”

Chu Zihang’s cold face twitched slightly—not from inner turmoil, but from shock—realizing that perhaps there were gaps in his knowledge.

“Is there something different about the Ferris wheel compared to other rides?” he cautiously asked.

“Do you know the top three dating spots?” Xia Mi sighed.

Chu Zihang shook his head. He had studied some books on female psychology and had some understanding of hormonal levels in women during romantic situations. But this “top three spots” thing…

“The cinema, the aquarium, and the Ferris wheel,” Xia Mi counted them off on her fingers.

Chu Zihang’s face darkened further, as it brought back memories. In high school, he’d once repaid the cheerleading captain for cheering during their basketball match against another school by taking her to a movie. Of course, after returning the favor, he didn’t contact her again. After that, the girl who always wore short skirts and had her hair in a high ponytail looked at him with… something like resentment in her eyes, which he couldn’t quite understand. He’d also taken the dance club captain of Shilan Middle School to the aquarium and explained to her how the male seahorse keeps baby seahorses in its pouch, which made her giggle uncontrollably the whole time. He’d done it because they were working on a paper about marine animals, and once the paper was finished, he didn’t contact her again…

“The cinema is dark, making girls naturally rely on the boy, and during horror scenes, the boy can hold her hand. Going to the aquarium makes you seem gentle, scholarly, and like you love animals, which girls appreciate in a caring guy. Plus, there’s this sense of being in another world while in the blue underwater tunnel—like you’re alone together. And the Ferris wheel is the perfect place to confess! No one can interrupt you, and the girl can’t run away. When the Ferris wheel reaches the top, pull out the rose you’ve prepared and kneel down to confess! You’ve got ten whole minutes—more than enough to move a sea turtle to tears if you’re good with words!” Xia Mi instructed.

“Why would I want to move a sea turtle?” Chu Zihang’s forehead began to sweat.

“That’s not the point!” Xia Mi looked embarrassed. “The point is that the Ferris wheel is a romantic place! And in a romantic place, you shouldn’t talk about unpleasant things.”

“Is initiation training considered an unpleasant topic?”

“It depends on what you compare it to.” Xia Mi shrugged.

Chu Zihang felt slightly relieved. At least, it wasn’t the worst topic.

“Compared to throwing a dead spider on a girl and laughing, initiation training isn’t that bad,” Xia Mi added.

Chu Zihang’s expression looked as if he’d just swallowed that dead spider.

“You know, this is my first time coming to an amusement park with someone!” Xia Mi looked into the distance. Amid the screams, the roller coaster roared upwards like a dragon, as if trying to break free from the earth’s gravity.

Chu Zihang paused, a bit surprised. He himself was an amusement park regular. In his father’s eyes, the amusement park, with its colorful flags and attractions, epitomized family bonding. It was common in TV commercials—a goofy kid wearing a clown’s red nose, flanked by a “caring, successful father” and a “gentle, loving mother,” all smiling stupidly at the camera while taking a photo, with the colorful amusement park in the background. “Dad” loved that kind of feeling, just like he loved printing out photos with his superiors and pasting them on the wall. Because of that, Chu Zihang had been taken to the amusement park countless times for photo ops.

And that man bonded with his son by going to large bathhouses, drinking Coke while soaking, and making Chu Zihang scrub his back.

“I’ve always wanted to go to an amusement park. I once snuck here by myself, but it wasn’t any fun,” Xia Mi said, holding onto the window railing. The shadow of the railing cast across her soft face. Her eyes were deep, hidden in the shadow, making them hard to see.

“Really?” Chu Zihang thought Xia Mi didn’t seem like the type of girl from a struggling family; going to an amusement park wouldn’t be too expensive.

“I have an older brother, and he’s mentally disabled,” Xia Mi said, pouting like a little girl. “He can’t come to amusement parks—can’t do anything fun. The staff even try to kick him out. Every weekend, my parents stayed home to take care of him. If I wanted to go to the amusement park, I had to go by myself. But who wants to go alone?”

“I thought you were spoiled at home.” Chu Zihang said casually.

“Why?” Xia Mi asked.

Chu Zihang wasn’t sure how to answer—there wasn’t a particular reason, he just thought she seemed like the princess type, a bit like Liu Miaomiao. What parents wouldn’t dote on a girl like her? She seemed born to be shown off by proud parents, her face beaming with a smile that could light up the day.
