Dragon Raja 2; Chapter 31: Reward (1)

Dragon Raja 2

Cassell College doesn’t belong to ordinary people. Nono once said that Cassell College was another path in life. Once you step onto this detour, the door to your past life closes, and you can only move forward… you can never return to the human world.

You already have a sword in hand, so prepare to fight.

Embroider the golden emblem onto your collar, arm yourself with the massive overdraft limit of a black card, order those burly men around as Agent Lu, and take this luxurious car to dine with your former crush at the most expensive restaurant.

The Panamera turned onto the elevated road, and the two people inside fell back into silence.

“Senior, your driving is really good,” Lu Mingfei awkwardly complimented, trying to break the awkward atmosphere.

Chu Zihang had thrown him out five minutes before, then came back to pick him up, but after returning, he didn’t bring up Chen Wenwen again, as if that conversation had never happened. Lu Mingfei felt he probably misunderstood Chu Zihang’s earlier meaning, and regretted his impatient attitude. He needed the president’s support to get this mission done, and if Chu Zihang got angry and left, Agent Lu’s work would be completely ruined.

So far, Chu Zihang hadn’t said a word about the mission details, as if he were just a chauffeur. But he drove very well, in full manual mode, shifting gears swiftly without hesitation. His complete control over everything had a certain beauty to it, like swarms of butterflies would fly out from his fingertips.

“My father taught me,” Chu Zihang said after a brief pause, seemingly surprised by Lu Mingfei’s comment. Then he added, “Happy birthday.”

“Oh, oh,” Lu Mingfei quickly nodded and smiled. “Got your message, senior. I am touched.”

“Not going out for dinner on your birthday? Changing toilet seats?” Chu Zihang glanced at the object on Lu Mingfei’s lap.

“Well, it’s not like my aunt gave birth to me; it’s normal she wouldn’t remember.” Lu Mingfei wasn’t complaining—he genuinely thought that. It seemed like he had never celebrated his birthday. He couldn’t blame anyone else for his miserable fate—it was his own parents who were unreliable.

This topic was indeed a hundred times better than the previous one—it seemed to make things more pleasant between the two. “How do you usually spend your birthday, senior?” Lu Mingfei asked.

Chu Zihang thought for a moment. “Home parties, cake, gifts, amusement parks, photos, dinner, travel… pretty much the same every year.”

Lu Mingfei stuck out his tongue, thinking, what more could you want, big bro? Fire off a rocket to the moon with “Happy Birthday, Master Chu Zihang” written on its surface?

“Do you like Italian food?” Chu Zihang asked.

“I’ve never had it,” Lu Mingfei shook his head.

“Cheese, pizza, fried chicken, steak, pasta… Italian food is the predecessor of French cuisine, emphasizing original flavors. It uses olive oil, black olives, dry ricotta, tomatoes, spices, and Marsala wine for seasoning. Their cured meats and sausages are excellent.”

Lu Mingfei didn’t know where this conversation was going, so he just nodded. “I like meat.”

“Hm.” Chu Zihang nodded, connecting to the car’s Bluetooth. “Aspasia restaurant? I’d like to reserve a table for two tonight…”

“I’m very sorry, sir, but we have an exclusive event tonight,” the manager’s voice was gentle yet firm.

“Fully booked?” Chu Zihang frowned. “Can you add a table?”

“I’m very sorry, the Black Prince Group is hosting a wedding banquet tonight, Mr. Chen’s son is getting married, and we’re not accepting outside guests,” the manager left no room for discussion. “I’m truly sorry. Please try another restaurant.”

Chu Zihang held the phone in silence. The Black Prince Group was a major taxpayer in the area, supported by the government, and its boss often appeared on the front page of the local newspaper. Even the newly appointed mayor had to visit them personally. But for someone like Chu Zihang, educated as an elite of Cassell and exuding dominance even without his sunglasses, none of this was worthy of his respect. The problem was, the boss—whom Chu Zihang casually referred to as the “Black Boss”—was a major client in his father’s business, and the two families had interactions. If his parents found out about this… Chu Zihang scratched his eyebrow and felt a bit intimidated. Everyone had their weak spots, and Chu Zihang was no exception.

“Senior, there’s no need to hang yourself on this one crooked tree,” Lu Mingfei suggested in a small voice. “Can’t we change to another restaurant?”

“I booked it for a friend, it’s already agreed, changing it is not appropriate,” Chu Zihang thought for a moment.

In his mind, a figure emerged… He wasn’t the only one from Cassell College who was “overbearing”—nor was he the most reckless. To deal with a local overlord, he needed an unreasonable outsider!

He dialed another number. “Finger, are you by the computer? Help me post a reward on the Night Watcher’s forum. Yes, use the ID ‘Murasame.’ I’ll send you the details in a text…”

The Night Watcher’s forum originally started as an internal platform for Cassell College, where students would chat idly, ask about class schedules, or comment on the pretty girls of the current batch. Over time, it became more and more popular, becoming the ultimate life guide for Cassell students. Early in the morning, a tarot master would post the day’s fortune; in the morning, someone would ask for class notes; by noon, someone would be ranting about how the cafeteria’s pork knuckle was getting worse. In the afternoon, those just waking up would start organizing a party for the evening, and late at night, the anonymous discussion area would be crowded, with the proud boys and girls pouring their hearts out about their love lives. Later, the News Department was officially established, with Finger as the self-proclaimed “campus paparazzi king,” adhering to the righteousness of a journalist—everything that could be exposed should be exposed. Thus, you could find gossip about professors, Secret Party lore, and even Principal Anjou’s large expense reports, as long as you were willing to dig through the posts in the forum.

As a result, every graduate of Cassell College kept their ID from back then and remained active, even though some had joined archaeological teams digging up Dragon Raja ruins in remote places, while others had joined the Execution Bureau for secret missions in Europe. But as soon as they had time and could go online, the first place they’d log into was the Night Watcher’s forum, to feel the warmth of home… and the spirit of gossip.
