But it was all in vain. A fragment from the explosion landed not far from Lu Mingfei—a piece of the television casing, still smoldering.

As the dust slowly settled, the dragon remained frozen, wings wrapped around its head. The molten steel on its body began to slowly solidify, sizzling against its scales. Lu Mingfei peeked out from behind the stone pillar, not daring to make a sound.

Chu Zihang’s scales opened and closed, his coiled muscles standing out like iron bars. He began chanting again, expanding his domain. Blood gushed from the gaps in his scales, evaporating into a red mist.

A second “Blood Burst!”

The dragon’s bloodline was further purified. High-pressure blood coursed through his body, making incredible changes down to every cell. The powerful, intoxicating force flowed through his veins, and even though he knew it was a forbidden technique that shortened his life, he was still intoxicated by the unrivaled strength. His exhausted heart beat once again like a war drum, pumping out the dragon’s hot blood. He couldn’t help but let out a hoarse roar.

The domain of “Yanling · King’s Blaze” expanded further. This time, Chu Zihang was firmly in control. Dark red streams of energy coursed around the edge of the domain, like countless translucent serpents. He himself appeared dim, but he was surrounded by fierce flames! The coal slag on the ground ignited, and the tracks turned to molten iron—Chu Zihang stood as if at the center of a fiery altar.

Was this the true power of “Dragon Blood”? Lu Mingfei had thought Caesar’s “Kamaitachi” was an incredible power, but now the might Chu Zihang unleashed reminded him of the furious King of Bronze and Fire within the Three Gorges Reservoir!

Could such a bloodline really be controlled? Even Lu Mingfei doubted it. Maybe the Investigation Team was right? At the very least, they should have kept him out of the campus and taught him some morals, maybe even had him study Buddhism or Taoism… Sending him on a mission was like raising a dragon to fight another dragon!

A slight cracking sound came from the newly formed iron membrane on the dragon’s body. Lu Mingfei shivered. Surviving a napalm explosion to the face—was this thing really “alive”?

The iron membrane shattered, and the dragon suddenly spread its wings—now riddled with holes from the burns. It let out an enraged roar, iron shards shooting out like tiny arrows, whistling as they pierced the air. It crouched, ready to pounce. But compared to the blazing Chu Zihang, this supposedly imposing stance was far less impressive. This massive creature could withstand a napalm explosion to the face, but its counterattack lacked any divine might. It looked more like a giant, bewildered cat or dog, baring its teeth in anger after waking up from being stunned.

Lu Mingfei suddenly found it hard to breathe. It was as if a tropical storm was forming in the vast space, with the eye of the storm sucking away all the air, causing the pressure to plummet elsewhere. Another domain had been activated—one powerful enough to affect the entire space. It was extracting oxygen, tons of it.

Xia Mi’s “Wind King’s Eyes.”

At some point, she had floated into the air, in front of the dragon and above Chu Zihang. Her Bohemian-style long dress billowed like clouds, as did her long hair, as she chanted the Yanling, descending like an angel singing a hymn. Her eyes were clear and radiant, and bright red blood beads formed on her bare feet. Lu Mingfei knew she was beautiful but had never realized she could be this beautiful. At this moment, her beauty, accentuated by the wind, made people instinctively want to shield their eyes, as if afraid that her radiance would pierce their hearts. She was the daughter of the Wind King, the pupil of the Wind King, brewing a world-ending storm in the high heavens.

“King’s Blaze” began to release, but unlike the usual explosive effect, it burned silently, almost deathly still. The black-red fiery serpents, the burning coal slag, the molten golden iron—all rose at Xia Mi’s call. The intense heat that Chu Zihang had generated was also completely absorbed by her. Chu Zihang looked up at her, blood from his scales drifting upward. Xia Mi had long since gathered tons of oxygen at the core of this storm!
